So I've been completing some perilous runs and actually contributing, even picking up the odd immortal metal here and there.

I can't seem to find a build with hidden blades that I like however.

I feel like I have to get Unyielding, Terrifying fury and Grisly Mutilation, to make up for my lack of any Constitution promotes and my poor accessories.  Unyielding procs about once a run for me on perilous.

In order to get to Hidden Blades, I have to give up Flow of Battle/Looked Like it Hurt or Dance of Death/Shield Breaker.

I have been going with Flow of Battle and Looked Like it Hurt.  I guess I could drop Flow of Battle to get Shield Breaker.

I feel like, somewhat counter-intuitively, that my general low crit rate makes the crit talents even more necessary, though.

What would the consensus be as to the general effectiveness of (taking into account low promotes):

1.  Flow of Battle/Looked Like it Hurt versus

2.  Dance of Death/Shield Breaker versus

3.  Looked Like it Hurt/Shield Breaker.

I've been going with 1., wonder if either of the other two would be better.

Tried Hidden blades, throwing blades, combat roll, TTD?

Charging bull, hidden blades, spinning blades, combat roll.

I feel like I still need charging bull for kind of "burst" guard generation, plus CC.

So would probably have to drop spinning blades or hidden blades to take TTD (and it's long cooldown).

Spoiler

I'm trying out Alchemist for the first time and using your build.
it's so much thanks a ton!

Oh I'm sorry that's an advanced alchemist build meant to be paired with a virtuoso... It doesn't hurt much to use, but isn't quite amazing without. You can swap out KOB with Ele mines if you want. All the builds are a starting platform.

You need to follow my build to the entirely, You need to rework your equipment to critical chance, drop UY and GM.

Also, spinning blades feels substantially stronger than throwing blades.  Do you use throwing just for the range

Keep both. That's the core of the build along with flow of battle, terrifying fury and +critical chance / cunning gear / weapon upgrades.

After that it is all optional abilities to tailor to your own needs. Warcry, Parry, Combat Roll, Hidden blades etc.

Ideally, that would be great advice.

However, I don't have the gear, or crafting mats.

And I need UY and GM to survive in perilous.

Edit: I'll try dropping GM and picking up shield breaker.

Per wavebender, may try no charging bull and replacing with TTD. Costs an extra point, and I'm already short points though.

You'll get more than enough guard generation via TTD. Up to you.

However, I don't have the gear, or crafting mats.

If you're in perilous that means you have gear and mats. It is impossible not to have them if you're playing Perilous. Heck impossible not to have them if you're even playing threatening, and that is completely trivialized once you get the higher tier armor.

Your gear and mats may not be the best, but it can definitely be improved with the Tier 2 and 3 weapon upgrades, and using crafting materials-- even tier 1 crafting mats. That is available to everyone.

For the record, I played my assassin for months with white daggers, then just blue daggers, and eventually a walking death level 20 purple and level 20 coiled strike blue. That's what I cut my teeth on while everyone else had better daggers. I didn't get anything better until dagger of the dragon released AFTER I had already reached 200 ops complete on Assassin.

So no, you do have gear, and its plenty. What you do need is to actually follow through with the build all the way if you're going to use my templates. Go big or go home.

that saare support build is almost identical to what i found to be the best as well. really powerful. i prefered blast in place of leap, however, for the cc option

Have you tried your support build with Itwa-Adim Explosion instead? I haven't tried the Wall of Hissra yet but I was thinking her support build belongs at range.

Using the Heart of the Pride and the threat reduction amulet I open with Itwa-Adim (electric staff + In Knowlege, Power = damn), flow with the ring for increased speed, and finish with shield for the team. While the ring is up I'll keep opening and flowing in Itwa to deal damage and spread fear if enemies are in range. Otherwise I just spam Shield if I fall out of range as it seems quicker.

The fourth ability can be what ever: Blast, Leap, or Glyph are all great but I really have been liking Curse.

Curse:

Opening- Kinda meh, but it'll be decent for Despair Demons.

Flow- Hilarious CC on your freezable enemies, especially when the Behemoth spam gets heavy.

Finishing- A tedious cast (enter Pride staff and flow ring), but don't sleep on this. It nearly haves the health pool of whatever it gets cast on making a fairly low damage supporter into a boss crippling monster.

The mechanic with the Support as built is that you don't need line of sight to support. Either upgrade Bacon Barrage so you can hit from anywhere, or the leap so you can kite forever. You could support from across the map and never be in danger if you so chose.

You're free to build your kits as you please of course, these guides are a baseline to work from. The fact is pretty much all of Sara's abilities are fun to use.

I've tried the explosion skill and I am not a huge fan, as I do FAR more damage and CC with Athlok Burst. I'm willing to try again, but that'll be later on.

Interesting, you didn't update Lego with Livid.

I made a little modification to your CK or brawler to mess little with qunari, who are new The faction.

Payback strike,Shield bash.Walking fortress,Livid.

Hakkon's LS+Hok,Mageslayer,2xCrit damage rings, cooldown amulet,200hp belt,Drakescale +con and magic defense.I don't have astronomical stats(79,61,98),but managed to solo them on nm without any problems.

I played against them in normal game(pug) and noticed that fare good against them, but commander literally destroyed me with his magic attacks,so I buffed my magic defense with Mageslayer and armor upgrade :) .

Thanks for all these tips!  I've been utilizing them all as a guide line and then experimenting when I feel comfortable.

I just unlocked the necro and crafted her 2.5 tier armor.  Do you still recommend winter stillness even though it doesn't reduce CDs anymore?

It only doesn't reduce them for keeper. It still reduces cd for other kits. Don't ask me why its different, only it is different. I don't recommend playing necro at all when Sara is so badass. Sadly WB is just no good in the current meta, as alpha striking is no longer an option.

I'm glad you learned something and you're having fun!

I wanted to say thanks for posting all of these.  you've given me a lot to play with and figure out,  but I noticed a few times you say "if your cunning is high." in the context of MP, what is considered high?

and speaking of high critical chance, I've seen archers rip through NM dragons in as little as 10 seconds. what mechanics or builds do they use to do this? I've tried on my own, but I can't seem to match the same results.

thanks for what you do.

Mark of Death + Leaping shot repeated with opportunity knocks (resets cooldown), looks like it hurt (replenishes stamina), and pincushion (increased damage per hit) with  high critical chance to guarantee those effects that just stack on each other.

high cunning is relative. I would say guaranteeing 50-100% critical chance, between cunning and equipment. It is entirely possible to get over 50% critical chance off equipment alone, not even considering passives and build. So it is definitely possible to get high critical chance and pull off a lot of things you wouldn't normally.
