How to turn OFF cheats?!

Hi everyone,

This is probably the most stupid question you'll ever encounter on here- but how do you turn OFF a cheat once you've turned it on?!

Specifically my main character is stuck on immortal- and I don't want her to be! Yes I am a massive newbie and mock me all you want- but just tell me how to make her not immortal anymore!

If you want some background as to why I got myself in such a scrape- let's just say I got myself in a tight spot with a useless crew against Branka...

Reloading the recent save and/or the game itself should work unless the save file got corrupted, in which case, reloading an earlier save might be your only straightforward option.

Are you sure you simply can't re-run the commands... Or add a '0' to them, to indicate that you want to switch if off? ('1' = on, '0' = off)
E.g. you could try
runscript setplayerimmortal 0 <enter>

or simply

runscript setplayerimmortal <enter>

Dunno if it works, just a suggestion...
Otherwise I have to agree with Blazomancer above.

Thanks guys. Yeah- I've reloaded the saves multiple times but my character is stuck immortal.

I've tried just typing the command again but nothing happens- I'll try the 0 thing and let you know if it works.

It's a shame because it's ruined my game a bit. It's just dull having no challenge at all- but at the same time really can't be bothered to go back and face Branka again.

I guess cheating never pays!!

I don't think you really can fix it. I've heard going immortal should be avoided as it can ruin your entire save file. I don't really see a solution, i'd post a link but I uh sort of don't know how and I don't feel like going back and forth over and over to type it out. just look up "Dragon Age Origins how to shut off immortal glitch. Then click on Dragon Age Origins codes and cheats.

What level are you by the way vs Branka? and what difficulty are you playing on as well. Branka can be tough if you went straight to the Dwarven kingdom right away after Ostagar as your gear isn't really high lvl and your skills won't be quite so sufficient. IMO anyways. I normally do Redcliff first, then head to Denerium while clearing off random spawn encounters on the road.

You can use the 'killallhostiles' script to rush through the fights if you don't want to do them again.

PC gamers lol.  Why to embrace the stereotype OP.

Playing this game on normal is pretty much "god" mode.

It nice there are some helpful and knowledgeable people on the subject though.

Haha- yeah I said I was a newbie and I really am! Literally. This is the first time I've ever had a computer that could actually run games and this is the first game I'm playing on it! Before that just used consoles.

I was about level 12? And had a pretty useless team of Oghren, Alistair and Warhound. I am just playing through on normal but couldn't even defeat her on easy. *Hangs head in shame*. When it got to the point I was  ruining both myself and my partner's evenings for about a week- that's when the cheat came out... Won't happen again!

(But if I get stuck on Branka again will use Blazomancer's cheat instead...)

By the way- no idea how- just kept turning on and off enabling the console and fiddling about with that and managed to turn the cheat off somehow! So relieved! I will now leave you proper gamers in peace- but thanks for all the help. :)
