So where and how do you get these? I will be going on my second playthrough and have no idea how I got them the first time. I think I got the Faustian velet from killing red templers in storm coast. Have no idea where th obsidian came from. Did i mine it?
Honestly not sure how it works. Is it everytime you could get a regular one there is a chance to have it be fade touched?
Where is someplace to farm them on my second playthrough? Thanks.

These drops are random, so in general, the only way to get them is to keep farming whatever it is that drops the normal version. However, there is a way to get guaranteed fade-touched obsidian. There's a chest inside a locked house in Redcliffe (you need the Deft Hands perk) that contains obsidian and fade-touched obsidian. Loot the chest but leave 1 item behind (the usual exploit). Map travel out of the Hinterlands and back in. When you return to the chest, it will have refilled.

What mobs drop Faustian velet then? Mobs usually don't respawn right?

Sure they do, at least until you clear a map completely. For fustian velvet, you want to kill high-level templars/Venatori. A good spot is the Emprise, specifically the paths leading to the red lyrium mines in the south of the map. Make sure you don't actually clear out the mines themselves.

I think you get some generally respawning groups of Red Templars/Venatori in the Hissing Wastes as well, even after you've cleared the map, but that involves a lot of running around for maybe 2 or 3 drops per spawn, so it'll take a long time to get that fade-touched stuff.

I tried to get the red templars to respawn in storm coast but they never reappeared.

 

How would I farm fade touched metals?  Just keep harvesting/mining them or use the war table to gather?  I want the teir 3 metal that gives guard on hits but all i have is obsidian.

I got both from Emprise du Lion. Mine silverite and kill red templars.

Don't think the Storm Coast ones will drop Plush Fustian, they're too low level.

 

FT metals, yeah - unless you find it in loot bags, gotta get it from mining.

The storm coast one do drop it, that's where I got mine.  I remember because it was what I really wanted for my DW assasin.  guess I just got really lucky?

Honestly it's easier just to farm the fade touched obsidian from Redcliffe village as the poster above me said. It will save you a lot of time over continuos mining. You don't even have to leave the map- just run into the nearby tavern ("gull and lantern"?) and leave again.

The HIssing Wastes have an infinite supply of high-level Red Templars and Venatori. I farm most tier 3 cloth resources there. There are a number of fixed locations where camps tend to respawn, regardless of whether you've finished the map's quests.

Can you get them from the war map's gather resource missions?
