70 hours into the game and just a huge grindfest, its linear but the story isn't good, its 80% filler fetch quests. There is too few skills and actual varied things to do. There is a huge lack of features that were in promotional videos for the game.

I remember when they said there would be stuff like keep customization for military/spy/commerce, or actual things that can change the inquistions position. All that stuff was total lies. The game is mostly linear with stupid little mini quests that you just click on to do with no involvement.

They couldn't implement all that but they spend their time on a tacked on boring multiplayer.

This is the first bioware game where I just don't feel like finishing the game. Bioware just getting progressively worse with their games.

Lots of features were not in this game that Bioware said would be in, e.g. the Keep. But it's (sad as it is) the most reactive Bioware game by far.

its like they took the worst features of open world games and linear games and put them together in this game. Huge fetch quests, but main story isn't good either.

So, you thought the stuff they were discussing in Alpha was 100% guaranteed? Those features got scrapped. Stuff always gets scrapped. I mean, this is common sense.

Also, you call "Keep customization, or actual things" a huge lack of features? You named one thing, and vaguely alluded to other stuff. You're not serious, are you?

stuff like keeps getting attacked and there being a hard choice between helping your keep or helping a village. There are no negative consequences for ignoring quests in the final game. There is just illusion of choice, thats what I was referring to.

And also yes if they show of features I expect it to be in the game otherwise its false advertising.

That feature is missing but, again, DA:I has way more reactive content than any other Bioware game. Choices play out in the game itself - that's something Bioware's never done before really.

Chalk it up as a lesson in how actual game development works.

I agree with you. They will get a developer and PR guys to come with answer such as: during alpha proccess we have had plenty of ideas, most of them were stupid, you should be thankful for not including them. X Y and Z did not fit our vision for user friendly game as it was since its conception. You must understand deadlines, thisis not how development works, we would want to get many things in the game but we could not, yadda yadda yadda.

Poor game development, maybe.  It's one thing for this specific choice to not have made it into the final game, but it's another that so few (near zero) choices like it exist despite the series' pedigree of offering such player agency.  There was zero preparation for the fetch quest grind that we ended up getting.

You call it fetch quest grind, I call it incentivising exploration.

Why limit yourself. It might very well be: a modern platform for immersive devices. The more buzz it makes the better,

Again, DA:I has more in-game consequences to a choice than any other Bioware game, including (and especially, in fact) DA:O. There's a lot less meaningless flavour choice, but that's Bioware's response to all the hate that DA2 got for having empty choices. Of course, since all that criticism was completely hypocritical since it just targeted the same design as in DA:O but now in a less-liked game, it makes perfect sense for Bioware to be perplexingly told to put back in the feature they didn't invested as much in after being told to cut it with DA2.

No, but I think you should.

Because I'm a well known mystic from the Drained Mountains and Seventh Seal Sea. It will make you good, accept the game as it is, dispell the illusion EAgicians put on you.

There's always a disclaimer somewhere when showing pre-final footage (whether it be pre-alpha, alpha, beta...whatever) that content shown is not final and are subject to change. This occurs in all forms of entertainment. Unless the dev or pr team say it is final cut or gold master or whatever term they choose to use with whichever footage it's being demo'd, there's a good chance what you saw won't be there or will be altered significantly.

The only people that should be faulted on this are those who are dense enough to not realize that pre-release footage is always subject to change, and in games is virtually guaranteed when what's being showed is pre-alpha, alpha, or beta footage.

Similar processes happen in anything that requires design with time and budget constraints...not just entertainment.

Im sorry, but it doesnt even work well as an action game when you do switch to controller.. the movement is sluggish, and so much juping.. God so much jumping.. The character cannot even step up n over an ankle high rock.. Then the constant adjusting to click a node, or switch, or chat with an npc.. The Tact camera isnt even an option with how bad it moves, and views. Commands cannot stack, and completely void if you drop tact view before the commands carry out! Its just all around bad for a Dragon Age game.. Bioware is capable of so much more..

And im going to have to disagree with the so called "consequence" of actions.. The conversations play out as if the one decision was chosen no matter how you play it out, in so many different quests its laughable! Hell, even the Dragons Keep carryover from DA:O and DA2 dont even function properly... Obviously, the game was meant (and written) to be played one way, and one way only.. The way Bioware did during "testing"...

It must be japanese!!!!

Side quests should be meaningful, full of choices and life that you can take away from someone.
