Hell yeah. This is where it's at. EAware doesn't know crap about how to make an immersive experience anymore. This looks more like it.
In a better quality...

I was pretty disappointed that Redcliffe wasn't its own separate zone, or that we didn't get to Denerim, not to mention the small size of Val Royeaux. I mean, THAT'S the capitol of Orlais? Five shops, a tavern, a barely-deserves-to-be-called park, and a pier? Why can't we even SEE the Grand Cathedral?
I mean, I'd trade the Hissing Wastes for the Grand Cathedral in Orlais any day.
I loved hissing wastes, don't know why. But yea, i would love to see more of val royaeux and orlais.
There's no way Bioware could do justice to a city and have an open world game. You'll notice that any real open world game in a city has one map or tiny villages like Skyrim.
We do need some more city locations. Denerim for instance, and a few small areas at least... Val Royeaux was such a letdown. Smallest map in the game, only city in the game, and we see one square block.
And no hilarious brothel!
I was sort of hoping that would be tradition at this point.
I agree with the original poster, and instead of making my own post (which I may have done if I hadn't seen this thread) I will chime in to say that I agree. I miss big cities like Denerim, Kirkwall, and even Orzammar. It feels like most of this game is wilderness, and there aren't living, bustling cities (or even well fleshed out villages and towns) to interact with and get lost in.
Basically most "cities" are just places with shops and a few quest NPC's that are so obviously there just to give you a quest, that they break immersion and make everything feel less real. I didn't mind the recycled environments in DA2 that much (except the times where it was obviously the same exact map over and over in a location that was supposed to be a -different- place), and I liked how Kirkwall felt big and alive.
defiantly need a few cities I was so disappointed when I saw Redcliff its so tiny and cant even get to the castle it should have been its own area that you could travel to. Val Royeaux wow im sorry but that was a huge disappointment its meant to be the biggest city yet it was smaller than red cliff disappointment again.
I miss the dwarfs in orzamaar that was a nice place
denerim
Kirkwall should have been part of the story you could have gone then and actually talked to Sebastian
There isn't even a proper base for the Templars or the circle mages or yet not even the wardens
I think redcliff was actually the biggest city in the game...
I agree about the lack of town. Few villages here and there aren't really "civilization".
I was hoping to see Denerim, or at least something like lothering. The new Redcliff feel...tiny. Not a big disappointmant, the town was supposed to be small, but...if at least it was at least a little like the Redcliff we have seen in DAO...the changes in the locations are so big that is impossibile to recognize the places of DAO: Really, if someone didn't tell us, how many would have recognized Haven? Or the temple? Or Redcliff?
I was a little disappointed. The wilderness is big, the areas large, but the towns are...delusional, to say the least.
The usual BioWare. People say: please, we had to stay for all the game (DA2) in the same, damn town. Can we have more places to explore, less town, a little more variety, and more nature?
Town are taken away almost completely.
From one exess to the other.
Sigh. I should not be surprised anymore.

i suggest you to check the video called 30 minutes of witcher 3..
Not because taking place mostly in a city but becausue the city was souless and they reused the same areas over and over and bloody over again..
edit
you want cities? Try and see how The Witcher 3 will handle it....
Bringing up The Witcher 3 is unfair. It's developed by people who delayed it in order to prevent bugs and who will release 16 free dlc packs. Too embarrassing for BioWare.

is not unfair at all....because when you want deliver quality you have to take your time.... that is something the new bioware should learn
Judging by the quality of content fetch quests, they couldn't possibly make a city. Kirkwall was the best they can do. The only difference is that now someone gave them an engine so they wouldn't copy/paste the low res Kirkwall NPCs.
