So the ending battle, does it generally play out in the manner that you just chase Cory around like you are trying to catch a turkey or is there actually some other approach other than rushing at all times that you are supposed to figure out?
The final battle (duh spoiler warning)

i know its kind of lame, i expected a battle like in DAO end, chose ur party & who stay's behind & give missions to the ones left behind, just like in DAO, but i expected DAO stile here to be bit dangerous, give wrong mission to wrong companion & he or she can die

It seems like most of his actions are more about symbolism than practicality. Which, given he was a priest, makes sense. Winning isn't as important as conveying a specific mesage to the masses.

Yeah I remember when I first finished fighting Cory and remarking "...that's it?!...really?". Definitely one of the weakest finales to a Bioware game in a long time. As much as people like to complain about DA2 even it had a nice epic final mission, and don't even get me started on how awesome the Battle of Denerim was.
Yeah, pretty much rush while avoiding his beams if possible - and also avoid hurting him too much.
I keep lowering his health so quickly that I cut over his dialogue I still don't know what he really said about my Qunari Inquisitor because we were killing him so fast.

I messed up so much in that fight it says something of how easy it must have been for anyone not doing the crazy stuff I pulled...
1. I burned all my focus immediately, that haste Dorian provided was really great for the two seconds it lasted before Cory disappeared...
2. I didn't even see his deathray thing for the first part...companions just kept hitting the ground and chugged up all my potions, I had none left by the time the dragon came down.
3. After the entire battle I just remembered I had crafted demon and dragon slaying weapons, but I forgot to change equipment so instead I slugged it out with my regular equipment...
With some spirit resistance, proper strategy and the right equipment you cannot possibly lose this one can you?

I wonder if the temples of Dumat had path-based rites similar to the ones at the temple of Mythal. Both times we fought Corypheus, he seemed oddly fascinated with making us follow a specific path.
It seems like most of his actions are more about symbolism than practicality. Which, given he was a priest, makes sense. Winning isn't as important as conveying a specific mesage to the masses.
maybe it was a ritual to do it again, make hero think that hes dead, maybe the hero did just what he wanted, he is still a Fox like he was in DA2, but when that warden walked away with grin on hes face i knew hes alive & in hes body & will be villain one day

final battle"coughs" I've seen better Benny Hill chases than this so called fight to the death with cory, and its a damn shame too because he as an excellent role in DAI, completely wasted. Think back to DAO final battle where your choices actually mattered and the npcs actually played a part in it.

DAO was a masterpiece. There is no doubt. Playing it just about ruined RPGs for me. They aint gonna top that.

Unlike most I appreciate the brevity of the fight. I hated the battle of Denerim which was just a massive throw trash mobs at me and my trash mobs fight and then the final battle using those %#^< ballistas. A terrible slog, not a lot of fun.
