For an idea for a companion: I was playing multilayer (which is the only part I really don't like in DAI), and most of the characters are quite boring. However, Hall (the archer) has quite the interesting backstory and personality. From his battle quotes once can determine that he has very low self esteem (insists that his companions don't revive him once he is at low health), which could be intresting. Also, he has the unique prespective of not being an outsider to either Dalish or human cultures, and privy to both of their knowledge. Finally, unlike all the other characters Hall didn't join the Inquisition out of money, revenge, or good will, but instead joins out of a pure whim. Simply, the man seems remarkably well developed for a throwaway mode, and would make a fascinating companion.

What would you do?
You can of course choose to ignore this thread but I thought it might be interesting to see what you would come up with.
I would take Origins and look from there. Rest will take care of itself.

I'd like to see what happens with the Wardens at some point. There is a tale of redemption there and it could involve the Warden and Hawke. I think it does need to be set outside of Orlais and Ferelden though.

Best romances imo would be a female tevinter mage or a female elf who was a slave. Think of the dialogue options you would get with her if you a mage origin and were a magister O.o the possiblity for feels is endless
So much this

I have to pick up that old Lightspawn, if that's what the people want.
But I want a Saarebas mage companion too. With his own masks. Not face. Masks.

1) Rise of new Archon
2) Tevinter
3) A group of more mixed/conflicting moralities and end-goals than what we currently have...a game set in tevinter clearly implies an evil(reform) and a good(embrace) path, logically speaking the companions should reflect that...

There is something I would do, if budget were no issue. I would add trait to the character creation.
What I mean by traits are extra dialogue options similiar to the Inquisition perks that we got in this game to flesh out our character a bit more than what is possible at the moment.
After creating and customizing the look of your character you would chose maybe 1 or 2 trait from a list of I dunno 10-15 maybe, I am not sure. They would be somewhat generic such as:
Widower or some such.

I'd definitely make Varric romanceable character. I mean, I know he's sort of involved with Bianca but come on! He's just amazing and he deserves some real love story instead of letters from married woman! I bet his love story would be funny with a lot of fluff. (sorry for my English, not native speaker)

I still support the Lightspawn idea. Also, maybe he could be a romance option? <Runs away in fear of reprisal>.
Also, I still think Hall is a cool character.
Im not sure about Tevinter as a location, but if we could do all of North Thedas, it would be cool

Infuriating woman from Harry Potter who wore all pink, stole Dumbledore's job, and made Harry carve "I will not tell lies" into the back of his hand.
Aaaand let's not forget, she's a poster woman for being the Crazy Cat-lady!

1. all the depends on the DLC for DAI like if it wraps up the calling and solas. I think flemath will be in every DA game in some role, so i think her arc will finish in the last DA game whatever the number might be.
2. I really want the next game to be in Nevarra, Antiva, and Rivain. I don't like the of idea of going straight to Tevinter/Par Vollen and skipping over the central part of the continent.
3. I trust Bioware when it comes companion/characters. I dot want any old companions returning as companion with the exception of Carver/Bethany ( just Bethany in reality) and Tallis if they fit the story. I wouldn't mind see some old npc turn into companions ( Harding or Bevin ) and a few cameos of old friends, but ultimately a majority of the character/companions being new.

Just tried to start up this very conversation in another thread so I thought I'd jump on here instead.
1) Dragon Age: Imperium
The Imperium stands divided, the growing threat of the Qun in the north and events in the south have many in the Magisterium butting heads. On top of this word of Corypheus' origins has stirred much debate, some see it as a sign that the Imperium is to return to glory whilst others see it as confirmation of the Southern Chantry and thus a great source of shame for the Imperium. The Magisterium is restless and the Magisters have embarked on a form of arms race against each other, all of them looking to further their own goals and agendas with few being content in leaving the fate of their nation up to debate and the short sightedness of their peers. One such Magister has discovered an ancient elven ruin with several still functioning magical artefacts within. The ruin is a secret but the route of the caravan transporting the rare finds is not; choosing from a bunch of different origins you somehow find yourself at the wrong place and the wrong time as you cross paths with this caravan just as it comes under attack; the artefacts are destroyed but some of the power somehow linger on the player, nothing like the mark and more like the beacon from Mass Effect not something that gives power but grants visions of other magical sights and artefacts. Others have discovered this and the player quickly attracts the attention of a Magister who offers patronage and protection in return for the benefits of your sight. Perhaps the player can be called the Farseer, the Gifted One, the Traveler? I don't know really, needless to say hilarity ensues.
2) The Imperium and the areas around Arlathan, going to avoid Seheron and Par Vollen. I feel those two are best left for another game.
3) Only a few character ideas, first off we need more females and more dwarves which suits the setting well dwarves being more common in Tevinter.
Vril - Dwarf - Female - Warrior, Axe and Shield
A brash, hot-headed dwarven sell-sword drawn to the Imperium looking to seel her axe for good coin. After the attack on the caravan she's out of a job but when your new Patrons finds you she comes along, attracted by the lure of coin.
Arvik - Dwarf - Male - Rogue, Bow
A dour faced, irritable dwarven scout from Kal-Shirok who was sent on a "mission" on the surface. No one knows what the mission is only that it involves keeping the player alive and so Arvik pledges himself to the players service keeping them in sight whilst offering his experience in traps and tracking.
Tahlia - Human - Female - Mage
A cold and seeming disinterested Tevinter mage Tahlia is a young mage from a lesser family and one of the apprentices to the player's Patron. Tahlia is assigned to the player to end her magical knowledge whilst also overseeing the Patrons "investments". Tahlia is often hidden behind a stony face of bored disinterest which sometimes crumbles to be replaced by an intense focus and a fiery temper.
Sulwin - Elf - Male - Rogue, Dual Wield
A sneaky, somewhat unhinged elf with a knack for remaining unseen. He left his clan to follow the visions given to him by the "wife", something that often caused some concern in his clan considering he's not married. Not possessing a very high tolerance of shems, Sulwin is an unpredictable but still extremely valuable companion to have around. Less quirky like Sera or Merrill but more crazy like the Joker but with less stabbing
Kel - Qunari - Female - Warrior, Great Sword (or polearms perhaps if they add something new)
A soft spoken but good natured Qunari. Obviously not welcomed in the Imperium and estranged by the Qun being a Vashoth. She had found a home in a small village serving as their protector from bandits and overly greedy tax-collectors. She had a good life until a certain caravan passed through her village. Saved by the player she has pledged herself to his/her service.
Just my ideas

sigh... gonna get my sarcastic stuff out of the way... your gonna be a ferelden turnip farmer with no specific allegiance, choose your own race, and no fighting, and can moan and groan about how your not actually a turnip farmer when thats all you do is farm turnips... (this in response to the fools who moan and groan about 1. their warden in origins not wanting to be a warden and how they are just a random adventurer and not a warden, just because their character can have the dialogue choices, when bioware has already made them a warden regardless of wtf the player thinks, you're a warden, get over it... sorry just giving me a headache)
setting: anderfels, nevara, orlais
story: while i think people are hoping for a qunari invasion, i believe that a dlc for inquisition will be dealing with stuff at weisshaupt, which will set up da4 in the anderfels. personally i think the wardens are in a civil war type state, maybe the anderfels is involved militarily as well, and our protagonist gets caught in the middle of it... the protagonist is not a warden, nor will be... halfway through the game, a group of radical wardens decide it wise to seek out the other old gods and kill them before awakening them(like in the book the calling, im all for slaying the archdemon while it sleeps, but why the hell didnt you send more wardens?)... instead this triggers one to awaken and boom blight... the rest of the game is spent gaining allies from the other kingdoms to stop the blight... solving the warden's civil war, and discovering a way to seal/kill the archdemon without having to be a warden... solas will play a big part as he seems to have a good idea of what the taint is, where it came from, and what the old gods are.
returning characters: solas (at least an adviser if not companion), whoever is divine, blackwall/thom ranier

You cannot have that epilogue scene without there being more to come. Whether it is DLC or the next game, there has to be some closure on it. Flemeth certainly is not dead, in my opinion, although she might end up as some part of Morrigan in the next episode.
Tevinter has to be getting closer, however, whether it is via a few of the other territories or not, it seems to be inevitable that this is where things are heading. They can afford to leave it for a bit longer, however, now it has been revealed that they did not destroy the Elven culture.
Qunari appear to be moving closer into the main story again also, there were plenty of clues that they were taking a keen interest on what was going on.
Certain choices, however, will be gamer specific and I think the main plot will shy away from anything that we have seen that will include the extra work and complication involved with trying to tie up thousands of different world states. So I would expect that Solas, Flemeth, Morrigan, will have a big role to play, going forward, with Tevinter looming large. Possible a connection between the forgotten ones and the old gods. The game was telling us at every possible opportunity that a lot of the history had become confused. I think that some of this will now be explained.

So if Bioware gave you a chance to shape the next DA game (4) with 3 Objectives...
1 Story

Solas goes on a hunt for all relics that will help him unite and bring back the glory of the lost Elven kingdom. He enlists Dalish clans, escaped slaves from Tevinter and elves that believe in the Qun to march a full assault on the Exalted Plains and Emprise Du Lion. His goal is to recapture the glory of the old Elven kingdom and make the elves whole again. Meanwhile, Corypheous mishandling of the anchor has caused the darkspawn to easily locate the last two remaining archdemons. The Wardens, already decimated by the Fifth Blight and Corypheous' corruption, are now in a civil war of ideology. The Wardens need to be regrouped by the Hero of Ferelden (or the Warden Commander of Orlais) and Hawke to deal with TWO archdemons who have emerged in:
2. Tevinter and Nevarra. Ferelden's Korcari Wilds would be revisited so we can see the effects of the Fifth Blight. Por Vollen and Seheron would be angles seen from the Qunari side of the Tevinter conflict. Antiva would also have a small cameo only to end the Crows dominance there with the help of Zevran.
3. Every companion who made it alive through the three games, will be made available again for a short time depending on the lead character that is the protaganist for each act. For example, Hawke could enlist the help of Varric, Isabella and her pirate forces, Merrill, Aveline and Fenris. The Hero of Ferelden could enlist Oghren, Sten, Morrigan, Wynne, Shale and a descendant of your faithful Mabari. In another act, the Herald of Andraste would recruit Cullen, Iron Bull, Sera, etc. to stop or persuade Solas from reconquering lands lost to humans. In the mix, Anders and Sebastian. Anders would step in to help the Hero of Ferelden while Sebastian would help Hawke. I would also have a funeral for Wynne in one of those acts.
Leliana, Vivienne, Cassandra and Ruffles and other characters that took on larger roles would be there in support of the protaganist.
Please don't pick on me.

1) As long as the story is compelling, makes sense with where we are in the story so far, even if it does not have much to do with the other games, I am happy with anything.
2) Hit me up with some Tevinter action.
3) It would be interesting to have it where every companion was expendable, I love the previous companions, some more than others, but I do not see as to why they should be a companion in the next game.

1) story it would be about more in depth of the calling maybe finding a cure another blight, on the way the following up of solas finding out what happened to him and Flemeth not as many dragons though i mean the amoun in dai is a alot hahah the elves having a home land again
2). locations, going back to where the hero of ferelden grew up, deneruim , trivinter, basic ferelden, skyhold olais, antivia
3),Characters re create the hero of fereldon, hawke(if still alive), inquisitor , Alistair, i'm actually sick of morrigan i think shes just a b*tch if i'm honest always wanting power but i'd have to include her, solas, vivne, fennris, varic, Liliana, cullen, maybe the dwarf guy from dao and a dog

Retour en haut
