Story
Even with Mythal/Flemeth’s soul, without the orb, Solas continues to lack the power to bring back the old Elven Gods. Seeking a being with the power to do so, he travels to Tevinter and manipulates the dragon cults there. The unthinkable happens, a sacrifice is made, and the spirit of Dumat is revived. However, before the ceremony is complete, Grey Wardens interrupt the ritual, Solas flees and the soul of Dumat possesses the body of the Sacrifice. Word of what had occurred spreads and the Magisterium, eager to harness the power of an Old God offers the Sacrifice a place on the Magisterium. So begins the tale of the Ascendant.
Meanwhile, Tevinter tethers on the brink of collapse. The Magisterium is divided, rebellion, led by one Dorian Pavus brews. A blightlike plague stalks the land. Their armies are stretched thin, exhausted by their wars against the Qunari. Corypheus’s actions incurred the wrath of the Chantry who, eager to recover from the events at the conclave and fearing the rise of the Ascendent, orders an Exalted March against Tevinter, whether the Divine wishes so or not. Now an army of the faithful, led by the Chantry and the Inquisition march across Tevinter’s southern borders towards Minrathous itself.
Men war and Gods plot. The dark ages are coming and the Ascendant’s actions will determine the survival or fall of all of Thedas.

Characters
As the Ascendant, whether or not you support the Imperium, Exalted March or Qunari (no doubt you’d be declared a traitor should you openly declare your allegiance to the latter two), you have a house and voice in the Magisterium. Your companions are your friends, allies and retainers, all seeking to hasten or avert the fall of the imperium.
Ronan, warrior, two handed weapon, male romancable only. An enormous knight from the Andefels, as large as an Avaar barbarian, his plate armor bedecked with honors and trophies, Ronan joined the Exalted March for honor glory. Though his loyalties lie with the Chantry, he was impressed by the Ascendant and pleadged his service to him/her.
Kayra, warrior, sword and shield, bisexual. The life of a slave gladiator is a hard one, but it’s all this young woman has known. Gifted to the Ascendant to serve as a bodyguard, little does she realize how things will soon change, even, perhaps, so much as to hear the cry of freedom.
Sarenei, warrior, Spear. Hostile, nationalistic, terrorists, the Dalish Illiveri clan has always been at odds with the imperium. Sarenei is no different, yet his eyes see further than the war mongering hunger of his keeper. And so he sets out, leaving behind his wife and child, to find the Ascendant and a new homeland for his people.
Bianca Davri, rogue, bombs and grenades. Fleeing an unhappy marriage, in spite of her misgivings Bianca has come to Tevinter, believing it the only place where she can live outside the merchant’s guild. Life is good, she has a steady job as the Ascendant’s artificer and a chance to build a better life. Until the day a broken crossbow is delivered at her door.
Fredric of Serault, rogue, archer. Bisexual. The world’s foremost draconologist. The chance to study dragons in Tevinter and examine this man/dragon Ascendant creature under domestic and hostile conditions is fascinating. So, with his trusty dragonling Gustav by his side, Fredric sets off into war torn Tevinter. FOR SCIENCE!
Raven Cain. rogue, dual daggers, female romancable only. The scion of a disgraced house of magisters, from his birth Raven Cain was condemned to the worst fate a tevinter magister can imagine. Barred from ever learning true magic, he was taught that the only purpose of his life was to serve and trained as an imperial assassin. Tired, broken and wielding only scraps of blood magic to enhance his skills, the people of the imperium are nevertheless close to his heart. And he would stop at nothing to see them safe.
Lynn, mage, male romancable only. Born in an Orlesian alienage, when Lynn manifested her gifts, rather than surrender her to the Templars, her parents took her and fled to Tevinter. There they were taken in by a kindly magister who trained Lynn as his apprentice. Never forgetting what she could have been condemned to, Lynn stands as one of Tevinter’s staunchest champions.
Feather, mage, bisexual. She is an impossibility, a Saarebas who dared develop a mind of her own. Now Tal Vashoth, though her heart is torn, Feather must seek refuge amongst the enemy. Lest her own people find her.
Lucius Valerius, mage, female romancable only. One of the only surviving mages from the battle of Adamant, Lucius Valerius is an outcast amongst the warden ranks. No longer truly recognized by his fellow wardens, he is assigned to keep his vigil beside the Ascendant, to observe, to find his own redemption. And if necessary, to slay his charge.
