I've never been into farming but I really wanted the Masterwork Mortalitasi staff and decided to give it a shot. My choice of location is the Emerald Knight's tomb, the broom closet type small room with one chest. It has produced tier 3 schematics but only 4-5 of them and it keeps recycling them. Just yesterday I kept opening and reloding that chest about couple of hundred times but never getting any new schematics added. Tried again today and the same schematics keeps popping up. Doesn't one specific tier 3 chest offer schematics randomly at all?

 

I know Valeska's Watch would be better place but it is not an option for me anymore. And I also have only 3 clay urns in the Sulevin's Cradle left (didn't notice them during the first visit).

There are indications from people who have farmed extensively that the Masterwork Mortalitasi Staff schematic does not drop. It seems the people who have posted screenshots of it got the schematic using a cheat engine.

 

I'd suggest farming the Seer Staff schematic and using that. Alternately, if you made an alliance with the Qunari, the Masterwork Archon Staff schematic you can get from the end of that operation chain is another good one. In a pinch, Suledin Keep sells the First Enchanter Staff schematic if either of those aren't an option.

Doesn't drop? Darn, and in the net players are saying that you can farm it from the elven ruins (didn't say which elven ruins, though), that there is where they have got it. Here's a few...

I actually have the First Enchanter Staff schematic (best one out there, I belive) but I just wanted the Mortalitasi, as well. I guess it's more of a case of wanting it, instead of needing it. Too bad if the cheat engine is really the only way to get it.

Same issue here. And damn....I really wanted that staff. Why the heck doesn't it drop? Or maybe it's like the superior tier 3 armor schematics - which don't drop for me either. I'll keep farming, but why make a staff that isn't available during the game? At least Calpernia's staff is accessable.
