I can tell that if I get near a perceptive enemy, they'll pop me out of stealth, but beyond that I'm not sure how it works.

How close do I have to be to get perceived? Does the radius vary by enemy/whether they're aware I exist/whether they're facing me?

Does it completely prevent me from doing melee attacks from stealth, or is there a delay before it strips stealth? In other words, can I benefit from Knife in the Shadows if I attack immediately after stealthing?

If no one's figured these things out yet, I'll experiment on my own. Just wanted to check if the answers were known first.
