Frank Vincent for The Iron Bull. Sorry for this one, I know the guy who voices him is very enthusiastic and funny and he likes playing games and all...

I don't get why Cassandra talks very slowly and loudly, like declamating. The actress speaks like a normal person. I like the sound of her voice very much, it's the speech pattern that's funny to me. But I wouldn't pick anyone else for her, I'm just curious about her decision to voice Cassandra this way.

Overall voices are one of the best things of the game, extra money should go to animations instead imo.

Frank Vincent... He was in the Goodfellas, right? Mafioso Iron Bull... Now THAT would be fun  B)

I find to my ears that everyone with an accent sounds weird at times. Even if the accent is real, eg. Leliana. There's occasionally an awkwardness there, a difference of cadence or inflection with how the words would be said in English that makes the line sound fake or cheesy.

But... that's how people with accents sound. They put stress on different words because, in their native language, that word or idea gets the stress. I have family members who speak English as a second language, and they definitely change the cadence of sentences. My French and German coworkers do it too.

This must be why people always think real accents are fake and fake accents are real. People are expecting to hear a change in pronunciation but not a change in rhythm, even though both are part of an accent.

I really like Liam McIntyre, and think he filled some pretty big shoes in Spartacus admirably well. I miss Andy Whitfield, though...

I would totally hit up probably the entire cast of Spartacus for a future Dragon Age game if money were no object. I mean, imagine having a Lucy Lawless voiced character going up against Kate Mulgrew's Flemeth (because I believe we'll see her again). But yeah, I want them all in these games.

Sorry, OP, I don't get it. Money has nothing to do with quality of voice acting. Being famous and being good at what you do are a tad different things. IMO, Bioware spends enough money on hiring the best actors for their games.

Dragon Age/Thedas talks to me with the voice of Claudia Black. I read the DA books with her voice speaking through the lines in my mind.

They can eventually make a movie though or a series. But that would be different.

Bioware is usually stunning in terms of getting voice talent and making the most of it.

Rather than request stars id like to have heard in game though id much rather just able to avoid the occasional voice acting stinker that crops up.

The fact that saving Conner amounted to literally 60 seconds of dialogue was bad enough. What poured salt into the wound was that it was quite simply the whiniest voice ive ever heard. If a "sever head" interrupt had appeared while he whined away id have broke my controller hitting it so hard. It was torture listening to Conners pathetic mewling.

Just like those two urchins in DA2. One was called Cricket and the other had a pubic moustache. Ooh how i wanted to kill those little turds as well! Grrrrr!

I think i need anger management.

Nah, I am pretty sure everyone has a peeve or two :) I am not a very big fan of Kieran, for instance. But Claudia Black more than makes up for it :)

I'd love to see Liam McIntyre or Karen Strassman lend their voices to a Dragon Age game, they'd be perfect for City Elf Wardens characters.

Yes, i would love to have Karen Strassman be a future protagonist voice. Especially if we can play as a City Elf.

I wish it was possible to have little pocket sized Morgan Freeman that you could carry on your shoulders and have him narrate your life , damn the dude's voice is epic.

I want him to narrate my life, like in the Stanley Parable... My life would be so much more interesting then  :P

According to this video, he already does:

Thats why i prefer to never speculate, anticipate or fantasize about possible actors and actresses voicing characters in games i like. Because i never in a trillion years could have imagined Aeryn Sun off Farscape totally rocking my video gaming world as Morrigan.

I always find these things work best coming out of nowhere and kicking me in the face.

You cannot be serious on the internetz, there is real life for that. But it is confusing sometimes. I'll answer with another quote from my favorite.

I'd rather be a sparrow ... and so on.

Too bad only VA's I'm fan of are japanese so I can't really say who I'd want to voice act DA characters.

I think the current cast of DA does well enough job ^^
