Which old Bioware? The one that after BG2 tried to make a LAN based MP game that was focused around user created content and player DM, wholly disregarding their SP audience? Or the one that abandoned the PC like it was on fire to make a simplified story first RPG on console? What about the one that dropped all RPG trappings to make a choose your own adventure Wuxia game? Or the one who decided to make a sci-fi shooter that even removed the full party control and lured in fans by marketing it as the spiritual successor to KoTOR?

Yes, that exact one. The one that used to be capable enough and confident enough to do all of the above and more and still make most of them outstanding games in their own right.

The only reasons I can think why people would like this game are...

The casual gamer loves DA:I as it has shallow gameplay that doesn't require much thought, Shiny graphics, so its an easy pick up & play game, entry level (RPG)

The console gamer loves DA:I as they constantly used to being served up shovelware games, most other games on console only require quick thumbs, so this game must seem to stand above most other offerings, considering. It must be a amazing CONSOLE game.

I game on both PC and Consoles.  I enjoy playing retro games on an emulator that runs on a Raspberry Pie, I also collect old games and consoles.

I loved Wasteland 2, DA:O, FFX FF7, Costume Quest, DA2, Jade Empire, the ME Trilogy, Fallout 3, Fallout NV, Skyrim etc.

I also play pretty much every Pokemon game that comes out and love games that are more like visual narratives.

I say all these things so you can work out if I'm hardcore or casual.

I love DA:I

I still enjoy the DA universe and want to see what happens next.

Sometimes mindless action games like Borderlands and DAI can be still fun. Whilst I think it's a shame that BioWare have decided they're now more interesting in producing generic Action games than RPG's, the writing in places is still pretty good, and better than most. Mostly because writing in games these days is beyond awful but still.

Oh my God, OP, please leave this forum. Inquisition was exactly what I, and many others, hoped for. Just because it isn't what you hoped for, doesn't mean it should stop being made.

I'd like to play as some kind of seafaring explorer. Be the captain of small fleet of ships, setting sail for unknown shores, that sort of thing. No ancient evil or yet another war etc. Just you and your guys running away from angry tribes near an exploding volcano... you know, quiet stuff like that.

Seriously, we've have a lot of politics, a lot of noodling about civil rights for mages and the importance of religion etc etc. Why not just let us literally push the boat out and see what there is to see out there? Isabella had the right idea all along - sod the land, when the oceans are calling to us!

Seriously. Not liking something is fine, I do it all the time, but trying to convince others that they shouldn't like something is taking it to new heights of pointless absurdity. I don't like Assassin's Creed, you don't see me going to their forums and shouting it up and down.

So you're not even going to acknowledge the hypocrisy of saying that Bioware abandoned PC with the EA acquisition, when they did that with the original Xbox and KoTOR? Ok, then.

Also that Mass Effect was originally planned as an XBox exclusive (announced October 4, 2004) and was not going to be released for the PC. It was released for the PC on May 28, 2008  6 months after the XBox release. Playstation 3 gamers finally got it December 2012. In fact it was probably because of the EA acquisition that Mass Effect was released on the PC.

So Bioware was going the console route long before EA purchased Bioware.

It's done for me, never buying another bioware game after this unless I get information about multiple high-position developer layoffs or the game is on sale for 10 dollars. I wouldn't mind spending 10 bucks on something crappy (which anything coming out of this company is sure to be if these current employees remain there).

I wonder if there are people over there doing that, or if this is just a BSN thing.

I haven't always loved the games (looking at you, DA2 <_< ) but I love the world and characters so, no, I don't think it should be finished for a good while yet.

DAI could have done some things better, but I still enjoyed it very much. Sorry you don't feel the same.

They get the same hysteria and poorly-disguised "constructive criticism" at times, but less dedicated trolling from ex-fans.

I'm not sure how well Inquisition is selling, I honestly don't care. I personally think this series is just about dead. You can even tell by these forums that things have slowed down. Bioware refuses to go back to what worked and the majority of people are getting sick of it. Every game that EA produces releases with some tacked on garbage multiplayer with microtransactions. The entire business model is designed around scamming people while nickel and diming them and it's all perfectly legal.

EA is a cancer preying on this industry. It literally destroys everything it touches. And the best part? After nickel and diming all their customers, they can't even pay an American to answer your support ticket when you have an issue. All that money and you can't pay someone an honest wage to answer your phone? I have to commincate with someone half way across the world so you can pay them $1 a day? The greed knows no end and people continue to defend them and Bioware.

Let's face it, we're never going to get a real RPG out of this developer again. Once the doctors left it was all over. We all knew Bioware sold their soul to EA to make that garbage mmo that nobody even talks about anymore. Long live indy devs. One day scum publishers like EA will be irrelevant.

Ah classic, congrats you intelligent person.everyone is proud of you. you are really badass for typing all of this, you are saviour of indies.EA will be destroyed and BioWare will be closed because of you.

I really need to know if anyone who attacks the gameplay in Bioware games has ever played the Witcher and actually enjoyed it for what it was. Because as far as gameplay mechanics are concerned, I THINK it's the worst game I've ever played.

Maybe there's a decent story in there in spite of the protagonist, but I got about 6 hours in before I died of boredom. What an awful control scheme, what an awful interface.

If Dragons Dogma became a series i know where i would be tbh, as it is BioWare is making the "best of the batch" games on offer the now, but then a game aint gripped me or held my attention for very long since DD so that aint saying much, im hoping The Division is the one to grip me an hold tight but its from Ubisoft so im not holding out there.

For me there aint much on offer from anyone anywhere,no one for me is innovating, there all to busy looking at what sells best an just copy/pasting of each other, i am getting some good signs from the ME department but again i aint holding my breath.

see what the future brings i guess, only thing i can do

say one thing though BioWare aint leading anymore, there following , copying/pasting an that for me is the sad part

It's done as far as I am concerned.

DA:O is the only good game of the series...

The DA went down hill after the original, DA:A & DA:2 both felt rushed, coincidently they both were fully developed under EA, whilst the majority of the original game was done before EA's takeover.

Now, this DA:I monstrosity a half breed hybrid game that tries to cater to the masses, elements of MMO/Action RPG/Roleplaying RPG severely dumbed down to attracts the casuals. This game is EA to a tee, tries to appeal to everyone to create more sales but fails badly at everything, only the die hards & paid off defend this game.

Bioware is dead.

Well done you are one of the only people who have posted that they don't like the game that has stated that this is your opinion rather than stonewall fact.

Now I love the game, in fact it is probably the best game I have ever played and I have been playing games for over 30 years. This again is just my opinion not a stonewall fact.

well,I have no problems with someone bringing their opinion with REASON,just like you.But calling people who like DA:I ''diehard fan'' or calling BioWare dead is another stonewall fact.No offence to you but the person you admire is another bandwagon in this thread.
