At this point, in 2015, I would say without exaggeration or irony that gamers are the worst, and of that group, that Bioware fans are the worst.

And I spent 6 years on the WoW forums.

Sometimes I even think that Diablos forums are less rage filled and thats something.

Well.................. (tempted to say "sh*t, but I'll refrain).

This is worse than WoW forums, huh?

I guess that shouldn't surprise me. BioWare fans are very passionate... sweat graphs, romantic songs about game characters, etc.

*Shudder* at the sweat graphs. There are some guys kicking around here now who are really weird about elves that might end up giving the talimancers a run for their money.

That said, it's incredibly likely that the internet as a whole is just exponentially more terrible than it was 7 or 8 years ago. Recent events do seem to bear this out.

Weird about elves how? Have I missed something?

I'll tell you what is done. Threads like this and the OP. Stick a fork in it cause...

The answer is simple:

The internet is worse now because of the people that use it.... ;) all the internet is, basically, a medium of human expression.

So we have things like "planking" on YT vids, sweat graphs, 4CHAN.... all a reflection of the feeble human mind and its desires. ;)

Dragon Age isn't dead. Most reviews happen to be good and most would consider this game to be GOTY. Dragon Age has been planned for a 5 game project which I believe will continue on. I don't see how the DA series could be remotely dead in all honestly. People have praised it for being better than DAII and many have given their thoughts on how to improve on the game. As for the transactions for multiplayer all I can really say is everyone just needs to get use to it. It's EA, I don't like them either but they're not forcing you to buy the stuff. you're the one who spends the money, not them. As for the OP saying "IGN even rated the game bad" well just so you know IGN is divided up into individual reviewers and many have given the game 9/10 stars and a runner for GOTY. BioWare will now be moving on to ME4 until it's launch and I wouldn't be surprised if they're at least thinking of ideas for the next DA game when ME4 is ready.

I remember reading that IGN rated the game 8.8 out of 10. IGN's YouTube review is also very positive. I do believe most game companies would be quite happy with a 8.8 out of 10.

And yet the game itself is no where near the quality of Origins. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, the fact is the game is 90% filler content. That's how this game will be remembered. It is a singleplayer mmo. Just because the average gamer that doesn't play mmos doesn't grasp this, doesn't mean it isn't true. It is copy and pasted directly out of the old republic.

People can defend this game until the cows come home, mods can ban me for stating my opinion, it doesn't change what the game and series has become.

Hello, I'm an average gamer that has a nice library of SP games and MMOs installed on this rig. Your "fact" doesn't fit my position at all, and therefore, must be only an opinion, otherwise it would apply to me as well. It's ironic that you bring up swtor, since it's one of those aforementioned MMOs installed, and I didn't come away with that feeling at all. In fact, I wish they'd take some of the mini map functionality from swtor for here; such as gatherable mats showing up on the mini map w/out the need for the search function. Being able to send my inactive companions out to search for mats or to do my crafting while I continue on with my business would also be nice. Unfortunately, those concepts aren't present, despite your claim of copy/paste. The longer you go, the more ridiculous your claims get. It would be funny, if it weren't so sad.

Those concepts are in the game. You can use the map to send out people to gather resources/gold. The search thing is still the same as seeing things on the map. It's not like a way of locating objects has been removed. And I said casual gamer, if I remember correctly. Casual gamers do not have extensive libraries of games and mmos... they play video games casually.

The claim to copy and paste is still relevant because 90% of the content within this game is filler. Nothing said here is going to change that. It doesn't matter how many fake awards EA buys or how many white knights rush to defend their precious, the game is still 90% filler and regarded as a single player mmo.

You know what else doesn't matter? How persistently you hang on to erroneous ideas. I don't need a War Table to send my companions out, not my advisors, my companions, in swtor. I push "N", select the companion, select the task, and send them out. If this existed in DA I, Viv wouldn't be standing in my courtyard all the time, she'd be out earning her keep. It's nice that you decided to quote me, and then completely ignore what I said to try to drive your point home, though. I clearly stated that mats could show up on the minimap, w/out the need for a search function to make it happen. I clearly stated that. With your lack of comprehension there, how can anyone take anything you say seriously? You choose to ignore points made, even when you quote them, in order to push your agenda, so how much game content did you ignore in order to drive this opinion?

I know, I'm a White Knight, because even with posts about how I detest the skill limitations, interestingly enough, a concept that doesn't exist in swtor, even if you're F2P, you have more than 8, and how awkward I found the M/KB controls, again, interestingly enough, a concept I didn't find to be true in swtor, I must surely be on EA's payroll, right? It's interesting to note, as well, that I can depress both mouse buttons in swtor, and my character moves around. Here, I just attack the air. Perhaps it's as you say, if people didn't play a lot of games, you could buffalo them into believing anything you write. It's unfortunate that some of the people here have actually played other games.

Maybe the reason that I'm ignoring your points is because they have nothing to do with the subject of the thread and I'm attempting to not derail my own thread. I don't care about TOR, it's a failed mmo that has nothing to do with DAI asside from some design elements. You're the only hostile person here while at the same time claiming I'm the one attacking others? I don't need to argue with children.

And then, in some other far-flung reality, a very different ORTesc picked up a dictionary and learned the definition of "censorship."

What else do you call completely removing something rather than locking it? It's obvious nobody wanted what was said in that thread visible. Does one need to resort to burning books to be the definition of censorship?

Um, you bring up a point, someone counters your point, and suddenly you don't want to derail your thread, and people that commented on what you said are children? Right...

Perhaps a bit of reading of your own posts might reveal some insight into your psyche that you really need?

I still play it from time to time but I miss the vanilla, bc, and wrath days.

Well you were complaining about a lack of communication.

Consider this the moderator's way of communicating with you.

Wrath was so great. I think that's the era I miss the most. I played from launch until shortly after Cata because I just couldn't do it anymore. Quit full time for DA2.

I am. Especially when people are rational. People here actually defend censorship and abusive mods because it's Bioware.

Making threads about how a series should die because they personally do not agree with the direction it's gone in despite there still being lot of fans, then getting upset that people think they dislike the game because they said they dislike the game.

Apparently now a thing "rational" people do.
