DAO was hamstrung in this regard -- there's no actual pre-made building models that the level artist would be able to place in their "city" and such. All these huts and whatnot were individually and painstakingly put together from tiny pieces of walls and wooden beams. That's why it looks... the way it looks.

Wow that sounds like an excellent use of manpower.

I don't think it will ever be done. Sure be another 3-4 years at least before they release a new dragon age game. I think many were expecting orgins 2. I thought that's what we were getting when I heard the trailer few years back with Morrgian's voice. It's not this game is bad. I just wished I could extend the storyline that got me so engaged in the first place..

BTW how great is this song

I think the game is done for PC users.  It's clear they didn't really care about doing a proper port for PC.  I think any future game games will be console only and I'm fine with that.  I would rather not have any game than one that was done half-assed.  I still can't get through a play session without my game crashing during a cut-scene and my computer is well above the recommended specs.

Hope springs eternal! In fact I too hope you're right, but with caveats.

Just for those wondering, here are statistics on the number of units sold by each platform. PS4 alone has 1.3m units sold. http://www.vgchartz....ge-inquisition/

Seems like they're doing just fine. Any one know what's the development budget for the game? Wondering if Bioware made a profit or at least broke-even.

VGChartz numbers are not reliable in the slightest and you shouldn't use them in any discussion of video game sales. I could say that DA:I sold 10 million copies and that would be about as educated a guess as VGChartz. Hell, just look at the supposed PC sales of Origins in North America on VGChartz. Oh, oops, apparently Origins on PC didn't sell a single copy in North America.

A better source would be NPD or listen in to hear what EA themselves say about Inquisition's sales (if they say anything) during their Q3 earnings call today (1/27).

and yet people site VGChartz all the time when they want to show when Bioware games are not selling well...... funny how things like that work.

Dragon Age is going strong, at least in my book.

While DA:O was rich on lore, its universe was cliché in many ways differentiating itself from a rest of medial fantasy stories by the twist at the end. It was hard to see what interesting a sequel could offer if the franchise would have kept its focus (epic impersonal sacrificial story, mages vs. rest, You-As-Sole-Gamechanger, Big Bad and evil behind everything, etc.).

Dragon Age 2 tried the best thing it could and it was to abandon Tolkien-like fairy tale in favor of focusing on more personalized and grounded stories. Dragon Age Inquisition is somewhere in between - having an epic scope of DA:O map and better written characters and "living" plots from DA2.

I haven't finished DA:I yet but I am already considering it to be the best episode in the series so far and I can imagine quite well how enticing future episode could be.

I don't want Dragon Age to be done until we get to go to Tevinter and have a fully-fledged, slave-owning, blood magic sacrificing magister as a companion.

I'm sure DAI is fantastic for the Console users who only care about story and micromanaging their characters.  I wouldn't know since I don't own one and don't want to.  It's a different story for many PC users.  I'm sure there will be other DA games, but I doubt there will be any for pc users.  If there is, just don't say "for pc gamers, by pc gamers".  It's clear that was a marketing ploy to get pc users to buy it.  To this day I still get directx error's that crash my game to desktop every time I try to play it. and from what i hear it may never be fixed.  It appears that Bioware is going against the mainstream in just about every way possible in this game.  Stories, graphics hardware that it's optimized for, single player mmo, ect

I keep hearing that the game is all about the story and it's awesome!  If that is the case, then why is it that they put so much emphasis on combat?  You can't get from point A to  point B without fighting something along the way.  They said your choices would matter and that lives and even towns would hang in the balance depending on your decisions.  What happened there?  No place in the game is that evident.  Your choices only matter in romance and that is it.

If this is it, I won't lose any sleep over it.
