Should Dragon Age be done now?

How many quests in Origins were fetch quests compared to quality side/story quests compared to Inquisition? I know we have no actual numbers, but a ballpark? 75% in Inquisition to maybe 20% in Origins?
Using percentages is a pretty silly way to measure this. In ME3 something over 1/3 of the total missions were so-called "fetch quests," but all of them together took up less than 10% of the playing time.

Oh I don't know, exploring those planets and finding everything in the game is very time consuming without google.

From you? Precious little. There are people that do a far better job of being critics of this game's (very real) flaws without flying into all kinds of hyperbolic nonsense in the process.
I think you're applying the wrong standard here. The hyperbolic nonsense is kind of the point.

Judging by the fact that EA was called cancer, people who liked this game were called white knights, and the OP made the declaration that Bioware will never make an RPG game again, I'd say that this is the typical "post-release" angst that typically occurs when the OP realizes that this game isn't a rehash of the OP's favorite game with shinier graphics. The only real suggestion I can make to you, OP, is to stop buying Bioware games because you've probably been furious with EA ever since Mass Effect 2 (Bioware's first EA game, not SWTOR), and they will never make your favorite game again. Just stick with what you like and move on because there is an audience for games like DA2 and DAI, and it is silly to expect Bioware not to take advantage and cash in.

I suspect the next DA game with have less fetch quests.
I think they were more worried that they had built a big world that was empty.
So they filled it in a way that budget allowed.
In many ways DAI is a fresh start and while good, there is naturally some learning.

Agree that humour is the best way to go.
Dangerous when humour is mistaken for fanaticism - easy on the internet.

It's like BioWare took the engine of a sports car and tried to fit it into a truck because EA owns the engine of the sports car and wants to use it in everything =P
BioWare's technical director was emphatic that was BioWare's choice and it was the advanced environments and streaming features that were particularly appealing as well as the ability to benefit from future advances in Frostbite as it is 'in-house'.

They were talking about ME3 ones which really don't need Google. Mass Effect 1 fetch quests on the other hand are like half the game if you 100% it.
I'd probably say it's more annoying than Inquisition just because I have to use that vehicle that's like trying to move a shopping cart with 4 broken wheels while drunk and on a trampoline.

The more cynical half of me still feels like even if that were the case, they were "encouraged" to make that choice =P
but either way, the fact that it was originally built for Battlefield would have likely given them all sorts of problems when making a Dragon Age game.

Put the game speed on x10 and try to drive the Mako. It's hilarious.

Really? The system scanning minigame isn't that hard unless you're completely incompetent or maybe disabled. I spend about two hours over the whole game interacting with the Galaxy Map and scanning everything. (I can't see how looking up this stuff on the wiki would help at all; it would slow me down massively, I think.) I'll give half of that to the fetch quests since most of the things you find aren't quest-related. Of the maybe six hours I spend on the Citadel in a typical run, a small fraction is taken up with turning stuff in and talking to quest-related people. Let's be generous and say 1/4 --that's 1-1/2 hours. So we're at 2.5 hours. Since a typical ME3 run takes me about 30 hours, you can see that we're well under 10%.
I timed this stuff back when I kept seeing silly arguments on the ME3 board.
OR did you misread me and think I was talking about ME1? I have no idea how much playing time the ME1 sidequests would take, since most of them are so pointless that I never do them

I was talking about 100% Me1, but the galaxy map is just tedious trying to deplete every planet in the game. I know you don't need to do that, but it's the completionist in me.
I haven't played me3 since the week it was released, I'm just now finally getting the ending's sour taste out of my mouth. But I heard things changed a bit, and I recently got all the dlc. Just need to push myself through the second game.

if after 7 pages is this topic still about whether or not they should stop here? I'd hate to chime in on the original post, when the topic has likely changed simply because i didn't read the flow of conversation for 7 whole pages.

You....bought all the DLC for a game you don't like, thus fully supporting a game you don't like, yet it's the people who enjoy these games fault that these games continue to get made?
I don't even...

I guess what I really want though is old Bioware back, but I think perhaps too much talent has left and too much creative freedom has been lost for that to be realistic. The magic has gone.

Just a few things..
1. Regarding sales , Bioware themselves commented saying that DAI outsold both DAO and DA2 , So it's clearly doing well.
2. The game isn't perfect (what game is?) but it has gotten a lot of positive reviews (if you care about such things)
3. I enjoyed it quite a bit and was definitely a superior game to DA2 and a step in the right direction , but as i said not perfect and a few things i'd expand upon.
So to wrap this up , No Dragon Age should not be done and I highly doubt it will be anytime soon.

Time has certainly mellowed my take on ME3 and the ending.
The DLCs were pretty good, particularly Citadel.
If BioWare ever did a trilogy 'next-gen edition' I'd replay the trilogy in a heartbeat....

Yeah, I should have realized that you had misread the post.
When you say "deplete every planet" are you talking about ME2, or ME3? "Deplete" is strictly an ME2 term, but I know you aren't very careful about this sort of thing.

Why must everything be so black and white with people? I neither like nor dislike Inquisition. I have issues with Inquisition. I like certain aspects and strongly dislike others. I've never said that I absolutely hate Inquisition. Tis not true. I simply do not like the direction the series and it's developer has taken. One can appreciate, respect and still disagree with something.
Seeing as how all your criticism applies equally to ME1, I'm not seeing how you're not being hypocritical by saying Bioware betrayed their roots.

Personally I'd be happy with them dropping it at this point and taking a stab at a historical fiction series. Same character over multiple games but each game pretty much self-contained narratively (as you would typically get with Sharpe, Hornblower, Master & Commander etc. etc). I think that'd suit them down to the ground and perhaps appeal to a wider audience.
I guess what I really want though is old Bioware back, but I think perhaps too much talent has left and too much creative freedom has been lost for that to be realistic. The magic has gone.
Which old Bioware? The one that after BG2 tried to make a LAN based MP game that was focused around user created content and player DM, wholly disregarding their SP audience? Or the one that abandoned the PC like it was on fire to make a simplified story first RPG on console? What about the one that dropped all RPG trappings to make a choose your own adventure Wuxia game? Or the one who decided to make a sci-fi shooter that even removed the full party control and lured in fans by marketing it as the spiritual successor to KoTOR?
