In my opinion, it surely shouldn't be done with. There are many plot threads left, including quite probably those that aren't currently obvious to the players, and there's a good deal of the setting left to be explored. After DA:I, I'm looking forward to the next Dragon Age game again. I wasn't too wild about DA II, to say the least, and on the whole I'd say DA:O still edges out DA:I -- but DA:I, despite its mechanical flaws, is a solid RPG.

As pointed out above, ever since BG and BG II, BioWare hasn't exactly been consistent about much of anything. In retrospect, I expect that the only thing that kept them from changing the game mechanics up all over the place from BG to BG II was the fact that they were licensing D&D for those games.

Most everyone seems to have a slightly different idea of what makes a good RPG, or even an RPG at all. To me, DA:I is certainly an RPG, and in fact a good one. Its mechanics are lacking, but mechanics aren't what's important to me about an RPG. DA II was wavering a bit on the ol' RPG scale, but since -- at least to me -- the series is looking up rather than down again, I'm certainly hoping for it to continue. So long as it keeps providing interest and being an RPG series, I'll probably keep liking it despite its gameplay flaws.

I think "series" are actually a problem for game development. You had so many decisions in DA:O and could do all sorts of things in the prologue because it wasn't made with sequels in mind. Over 100 hours is a decent sized TV series. I am happy with there being closure and continuity never having to be dealt with again. Making new games continue decisions from previous games either just drags out decisions or makes the inconsequential. Obviously some consequences won't be dealt with but I am happy not to know what an old god baby looks like if it means more dynamic stand alone games.

Which old Bioware? The one that after BG2 tried to make a LAN based MP game that was focused around user created content and player DM, wholly disregarding their SP audience? Or the one that abandoned the PC like it was on fire to make a simplified story first RPG on console? What about the one that dropped all RPG trappings to make a choose your own adventure Wuxia game? Or the one who decided to make a sci-fi shooter that even removed the full party control and lured in fans by marketing it as the spiritual successor to KoTOR?

Very minor correction: NWN multiplayer would work on dial-up, though I don't think I'd want to try it on anything less than 56K.

I agree that DAI should have some sort of stopping point if they want to keep honoring all choices. I just don't think this is it.

All I got out of your OP was "I don't like Inquisition so BioWare should stop making it".

Because other people enjoying the game doesn't matter. Everybody must make games that ORTesc likes or else they are literally cancer.

It is so funny when people think other people should think about anything or anyone other then themselves. It must be the christian culture teaching **** like caring for the other... oh dear.

But yeah, if it is not the way you want yoou can and should complain, as for opposition, well it depends, if you are weak you decieve, if you are strong you crush, if you are smart you drive them to be your servants.

You know why this forum is full of people that endlessly defend this game right? They ban anyone that has a negative opinion on their precious art. Just like the Mass Effect 3 ending, you must be a troll if you didn't like it! It was an artistic masterpiece! The only people left here are the ones looking for a pat on the head by a developer that doesn't even post on their own forums anymore. So much for a place for Bioware to communicate with their fans, as Chris Priestly stated when these forums went live.

Hilarious. It honestly is. To sit here and watch people defend garbage because they're so in denial that Bioware hasn't made a decent game since Origins.

jesus would you just stop with your whining?
you are making a fool of yourself
we get it you don' t like DA I or qny bioware games after origins but just stop seeing your opinion as fact and forcing it on us

freaking overdramatic troll so you have been wasting your time since 6 years WTF

Why must everything be so black and white with people? I neither like nor dislike Inquisition. I have issues with Inquisition. I like certain aspects and strongly dislike others. I've never said that I absolutely hate Inquisition. Tis not true. I simply do not like the direction the series and it's developer has taken. One can appreciate, respect and still disagree with something.

wait what?
first you act like EA murdered your family or something all melodramatic forcing your opinion on others going full crazy and now you make a complete 180 turn?

They can't finish making Dragon Age games, we've not yet been able to visit Tevinter!

The most hyperbolic threads and posts tend to come from people who dislike the game.

But why?

So you don't like it, good for you, but why the need to over-dramatically evangelise the fact to everyone else and then without a shred of irony accuse people who do like and just respond to threads/posts of being over-vocal and "paid up" in their responses.

What is it?

Do you feel that you have to prove something? I mean read your post, read what you wrote, that's not a post on a forum - that's a headline and part of an opinion piece on an overly serious news site. Seriously that post is so shrill and over-loud in the drama stakes I literally had to turn the volume on my speakers down.

Its a forum. People who paid for the game and didn't get an enjoyable product by their standards are venting their frustrations. Is it really that hard to understand?

Nope, it didn't stop DA 3 from coming out despite how bad DA2 is.

I'm not sure if I should laugh at how insane you sound right now, point out that while complaining is fine it's stupid to expect major companies to cater to you personally, or both.

I guess I'm going with both.

The next instalment may will be a reappearance of the darkspawn, as both they & EA are soulless entities.

Or make a game that works with a mouse and keyboard. Or make a game that doesn't involve low quality fetch quests. Or release a game without tacked on multiplayer with day one microtransactions.

"I don't like Inquisition and judging by every other gaming site including IGN, GS, and MetaCritic, a large portion, possibly majority, don't like Inquisition either".

EA is LITERALLY Cancer. I'm not sure many here would disagree.

So.....

My Mom has brain EA instead of brain cancer? Or is it the same thing?

Better tell all those scientists researching a cure for cancer they'd better add EA to that list.

SMH.

Overdramatic.

And I for one am hoping that I will be playing DA games into my 60's.....couple of decades to get yet.

EA is cancer, more like EA is actually sane when you look at Capcom, Activison and Ubisoft. Would never have imagined saying that 2 years ago after the ME3 debacle.

Also I don't think DA should be done, there's a lot more that can be done like the Anderfels, Tevinter, Kal Sharok, Rivain, etc

he/she actually tried to do a complete 180 turn with somehow saying that he/she never said that DA:I was a bad game
probably realized that all his/her posts were complete nonsense and trolling

Here.

I've seen that post, thought there is some new one. Looks to me more like it was about it selling better at that time(faster) - not that it already sold more than DA:O. Unless you believe it sold more than 4.5 mil copies in about three weeks. I don't.

the title has some strong points but as a game its trash. To visit an other part of Thedas with a cookie-cutter protagonist and more fetch quests, no thanks.

The franchise has been butchered. The game is pure trash. Dragon Age is dead.

I know a true sequel to DA:O is completely out of the question, so I hope that DA:I doesn't meet internal expectations and EA buries the franchise.

The whole "I don't like something so I would like to see it burned to the ground" mentality is getting really old. Don't like the game? Don't play it! Give constructive criticism about what you'd like to see instead. And if the company still takes their games in a different direction than you like, then find something else to play. There are plenty of people who enjoy the series (INCLUDING DAI) and would very much like to see it continued, stop being egocentric jackasses.

Hint: "I hope the franchise dies in a fire" does not constitute constructive criticism.
