The only decent ring I can remember was Morrigan's gift - it had decent perks, actually allowed her to track you if you were in trouble and was later mentioned quite alot if you kept it in Witch Hunt DLC.
One of my City Elf Wardens wore her wedding ring (taken from the body of her dead husband-to-be) from the beginning of Origins to the end of Witch Hunt, despite the fact that it had no beneficial value and better rings were available.
A silly affectation, I know, but I remember that Warden fondly as a result of it.

I got this scene for the first time in 3 playthoughs. What i did differently in Viviennes quest was that I didn't question her about why she needed the heart. I didn't actually receive a ring though.

The ring is a symbol, it's in all of us.
*Japanese Rob Schneider voice* 'Cause it's a circle, it has no beginning, and no end, 'cause it's a circle.
And now I feel bad for quoting an incredibly racist scene from an awful movie.

Goddamnt it's actually kinda cute.
What did you do to get that scene? I've been on a very good terms with her and haven't seen it.
Yeah this what the hell.
I never got this scene.

I've done three playthroughs and gotten it each time. I think that stephee might be right. I've never questioned why she needs the heart (or, I should say, I questioned once and didn't like how it played out so reloaded and didn't question going forward). Every time, she's viewed me as an ally and given me that ring. And I've done one where I sided with the templars, one where I conscripted mages, and one where I allied with the mages.
Vivienne is always my Inquisitor's BFF.

The people who think that this is a disingenuous gesture are probably those who think that she never cared for Bastien too. I can understand people finding her character to be off-putting. It's disappointing to see that so many people fail to see how complex and beautifully written her character is.
There were people saying that Viv was Mourning bastiens death not because of the love she had for him, but because of the love of power and authority she was allowed to have through him.
I didn't believe any of it.

It's the invisible, immaterial, totally undetectable ring of non-existanciness.
It is a very powerful ring though - just by gifting it, you compel the recipient to go to the Internets to find out where the ring you supposedly got is.

lol the necro continues to be strong this week. Is this Halloween approaching?
This forum really needs to introduce one of those automatic lock-out features where, when a thread hasn't been replied to in at least six months, you can't post on it anymore.

I've gotten that scene in like two playthroughs, I think you have to have high approval with Vivienne and I think the right timing for it? I've done over four playthroughs of the game and like I said I only got the scene like two times. Oops, just realized this thread is from January lol.

Either the quest is bugged, or the ring has no actual purpose in combat and, thus, doesn't take up one of your accessory slots.

Why? I've never understood what the problem is with not introducing a new thread to start talking about something that an old thread already talked about.

Why? I've never understood what the problem is with not introducing a new thread to start talking about something that an old thread already talked about.
I mean, yeah, if there is something constructive to add to the discussion or even just start the same discussion all over again, or maybe if someone has a question about a same bug someone else had six months ago and doesn't wanna make a new thread, sure, whatever. But what is the point of bumping a six months-dead thread to answer again a question that has already been answered several times? I guess we'll never know.
Anyway, since we're here and continuing to necro this poor thread, we could embrace the spirit of undead things and start talking about Halloween instead. Planning any interesting costumes this year?
