I've always played Dragon Age on 360 but just recently started considering getting it for PC. Main reason for this decision is the mods I always see on YouTube. I WANT some of those mods.

The only game I play exclusively on PC is Sims I refuse to play it on a console, and Sims doesn't require much to install and play. I've never played with mods and I've heard of mods causing PC's to crash. (my brother in law, in fact, had his PC crash from a Skyrim mod)

What type of computer would I need to get that can handle the mods for Dragon Age. I dont want to get some cheap computer and it not meet the requirements. And what type of mods would you recommend. I am mainly interested in romance and armor mods, maybe a graphics mod.

Thanks in advance :)

Here's the recommended stats:

Recommended Specifications
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Processor or equivalent
RAM: 4 GB (Vista) or 2 GB (XP)
Video: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater -or- NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater
DVD ROM (Physical copy)
20 GB HD space

You'll probably want Windows 7 or 8

As for mods, Lady Karrakaz has an excellent guide. (Link is to old forum)

My current game has the following mods running:

All the DLC from Bioware
Advanced Quickbar
tal's storage chest
the magic box (yes that's right I have two chests in camp. There's another at Soldier's Peak. Today on Hoarders...)
Lock Bash
Skip the Fade
The Phoenix Armory (best armor for women)
No helmet hack
Universal Dye Kit
FtG Quickbar
Dalish Mage Mod
Natural Bodies
Add Any item Visual Deluxe (Very nice for spawning any bugged or missing items. Ancient Elven Armor pieces...)
CC Extra Tints and Tones
JB3 textures
Loose Stuff
More Hairstyles
Pineappletrees Vibrant Colors
Platinum Blonde
Proportions -dwarf -elf -human
tucked hair
Rockband
ZDF

I have Improved Atmosphere, but it and ZDF can interfere with each unless you are willing to put in more work than I am to reconcile the two. So, I generally use one or the other, but not both at the same time.

Hope that helps!

At bare minimum, get a mod that lets you respec and one that gives you a storage chest.

I play mainly on 360 as well, but I bought DA:O for PC just for the mods too :D Totally worth it!

Hahahahaha! Hopefully that includes the awkward underclothes xD because I'd rather keep the armour on them if that's not the case :'D

I personally never got that far in modding :P

At bare minimum, get a mod that lets you respec and one that gives you a storage chest.

For the former, I find this one here the most useful, as it allows you to respec at any time:

Respecification for DAO

(works for DA:A too far as I recall; makes it that much better than the respec-raven, quirky as that one is)

When it comes to flavour, some of the better design-decisions from DA2 can be retroactively applied to DA:O and DA:A:

DA2 Isabela and Flemeth in DA:O

'Kossith' Add-On

Uniform Grey Warden gear

(minor issue: as some cut-scenes are recorded rather than in-engine, they won't show these on either Riordan nor Duncan. They are just a couple minutes in length, though, so I find that easy enough to ignore)

and, something custom-created to go with that: Warden Shields (Targe looks absolutely fantastic, worth that one alone!)

Lol oh no, no nakedness, I'm modest :P tho for a sex scene ill make the exception, but even then I don't like seeing pure nudity. This has been really helpful, wow, I had no idea there were so many mods. I will definitely be checking out these links after I go computer shopping and get the DA franchise for PC. :)...income tax come on lol.
