Games in general are just easy these days(inb4darksouls). Even Mass Effect 2 which you list as the second best BioWare game I found extremely easy on Insanity as every class. Hell, I would call it even easier than Inquisition on higher difficulties.

Mass Effect 2 and 3 (won't talk about the first because I couldn't be bothered to play THAT on Insanity) are only hard when the player lacks in patience and tries to get "one more shot" off while their screen is flashing red.

Inquisition, if nothing else, is harder in general until Skyhold.

Good for Bioware and the continuation of the franchise (despite the fact of the many problems the game has), I just hope they're listening to the feedback though.

And I don't hold out a lot of hope to them going back a a design that I personally regard as optimal unless changes are made at the top.

Mass Effect 1 could get hard at the start but about half way through you've become overpowered, especially if you're a biotic. Singularity for Adepts can clear entire rooms because it pierces through shields/barriers.

The most annoying thing about it is that enemy snipers are likely to OHK you with the red beam of doom, but only one sniper has actually do the red beam before every sniper in the area is primed to fire.

Benezia and the Krogan when rescuing Liara can be kind of a pain if you don't have the right setup.

Figures that the one ME game I did not feel like playing on Insanity would, in fact, be the hardest out of the three.  -_-

Which sales figures? You mean the chart data where DA:I fails to chart or is in the 20th or 30th position because it is selling very badly for a very expensive AAA game?

Yeah, I'm sure if you say that enough times it will come true somehow.

DAI is the game of the year. All complaints about the problems are null and void, everyone! It beat the Mario Kart and Shadow of Mordor! What competition! So impressed!!!

I absolutely love DAI but in a year like this it was the default winner.

also lol@ The Walking Dead winning GOTY in 2012 when the game is pretty much the 100% definition of "illusion of choice". ME3 is better than that game in literally every way, (fight me) but that's not the purpose of this thread I guess.

Games where you can close your eyes and "hold right trigger to win" should always be GOTY. Hopefully in the sequel to DA:I combat is fully controlled by the AI instead of just near completely automatic. Oh, and it should have >95% boring filler content instead of just 80%.

GAME OF THE CENTURY MILLENIUM.

This.
At one point I was doing similar thing in the middle of a fight, holding lmb using my right hand and eating popcorns with my left hand.

Oh yeah, ot :)
I disagree with the goty choice

They should make a game where you have to collect 200000 Ram Meats and 500 shards, but make it in a big ~~~OPEN WORLD~~~. (Open World can't include any content other than Ram Meats and shards or else its too linear) Why bother even making games after that, people would never stop playing!

They should make areas linear rather than open world and you have to collect 200000 corpse gall before returning it to the Chantry Board person that speaks nonsense in Denerim.

I guess an Xbox killed his family, so now he has a personal vendetta against game consoles.

Nah it should be set in Kirkwall and only Kirkwall and you have to pick up 100,000 pieces of litter. Cleaning up the mean streets!

Just curious.

I think it's ironic how people who make complainy, b**chy, whiny posts also post things like this.

Yes. You didn't get your check? I mean I ticked the "get paid in sexual favours" box, but that's because I live in a really liberal country.

I'm still waiting to be showered in virgins. *Looks angrily at Imshael*

DAI was the only new game I bought in 2014. Everything else was an expansion or DLC (BioShock DLC, Last of Us DLC, Diablo 3 Expansion). Was a slow year for me personally. I enjoyed all my purchases but I would have to give it to DAI based on effort.

Check out Inquisition's token nomination for AIAS Awards. It's strange to me that it's nominated for GotY, and yet does not appear in a single other category like some of it's rivals...

My solution is a medic enginner, with Hacking and Neural Shock you have up to two ennemies out of every fight before having fired a gun (a specter pistol is all you'll need). Add sabotage and overload and it's insane field control. Have Liara around for singularity and any heavy hitter and you're set. If anything happen, and it shouldn't, you have your boosted medic on top of unity to survive.

Not that I hate DAI or anything. But GOTY awards doesn't really say much besides "these guys paid to have an opinion had an opinion"

My bag of unmarked US bills validates this "fact"

Anyway, I've been a BioWare player since BG1 and love Inquisition, so they haven't alienated ALL their old fans. (I hated the Neverwinter Nights original campaign, though, so I wouldn't give up all hope that they'll make other games you like in the future.)

Yep.  On the same page here.  Been with Bioware since BG1 and love DAI.  It's not perfect, but then neither was DAO nor DA2, and I love both of them (for different reasons).

I think what gets me about the folks who don't like the game is the... vitriol. Reading some of their posts makes me envision folks frothing at the mouth.  And, I'm not talking about those who are upset because of technical glitches.  That I get and I share their outrage and frustration.  No, I'm talking about those who just don't like the game.  It's fine not to like something (even when some of the explanations don't add up, but that's another conversation), but the reactions so often seem hyperbolic.

title alone shows you how damn meaningless they all are, 100 GOTY awards?? jesus h christ seriously

was going to say a independent body needs to be setup an have a once a year game awards, then a GOTY award would mean something, but tbh its gaming so it wouldnt take very long to be corrupt

this game on pc doesn't deserve 1 award for anything, only maybe an award for crappiest tactical mode and control scheme ever designed.
