I have to say I am extremely surprised by the amount of negativity I am seeing on the forums. This game is by far one of the best Bioware games that has been made since like the original Mass Effect. Seriously. It is awesome!

The characters are brilliant - I love them all even the ones I hate in the game.

The Cullen romance so far is perfect! ( I haven't finished the final mission, yet. ) It has progressed smoothly and it has the feels. That scene just after the third last story mission was so filled with feels.

The story has me guessing and second guessing every decision.

The exploration - I love exploration. I love the mission story for each of the area's I have visited so far.

There are also the optional collection quests which I have been happily plodding along and doing.

There is nothing that has really annoyed me at all, no mechanics that I have found frustrating it has all felt very smooth and enjoyable.

I don't get those complaining about the exploration and side quests - they are all optional! If you feel one is beneath you don't do it.

As for me I have to say a great job Bioware! I was sceptical after ME3 but this game has truly delivered and I have even noticed some changes in this game based from feedback of players in ME3 ( such as no auto-dialogue you are truly in control of your character ). Brilliant RPG.

Thanks Bioware! You guys have still got it.

Not sure if serious, it's so hard to tell these days...

Either way, I love this game, too. There are some faults and some things were taken into a weird place design wise, but I have a lot of fun with this game.

Some complain because they have legitimate reason too. If bugs and technical issues are keeping you from playing-- well, who can blame them for complaining? You purchase a game, you expect for it to work.

Some complain because they don't feel as if the game meets their expectations, or because we have a huge game with no storage and odd choices of hair styles, etc.

Some complain because they can't function otherwise. If you love the game, don't concern yourself with complaints, legitimate or otherwise, your opinion is the only one that should matter.

i love this game, but it have lost functionality that was present in DAO and DA2 and which was making DAO/DA2 playable and re-playable...

- Radial spell menu which permit to bypass the Eight spells maximum use by AI and you

- Tactics rows which was permitting to bypass the 8 spells max usable by AI/IA, and which was permitting to customize the AI/IA of compagnons as we wanted...

I love this game too! Can it be improved? Yes! Did it make unnecessary shortcuts in UI design? Yes!!

Can 95% of its problems be fixed in a reasonably cheap and non-painful way?

Oh yes!

Will any of the "fixes" change the game for people who already love it and like it? No!

Agreed with the above posts! There seems to be so much negativity in the forums, but I feel like overall they really did a nice job, especially given all the (arguably deserved) critique over the years. I didn't have any expectations that the game was going to be perfect, smoothed of bugs, and ready to go in all regards, so maybe that's why I'm still enjoying it while others aren't, but I really do believe that Bioware has released a great title, and I know I'll be playing it for years to come. Even better, future playthroughs will have the benefit of patches and (maybe) mods, so I continue to to be pleased! :)

I also love this game. For many of he reasons stated (except for Vivienne; she's a b****) and yet I feel there are many issues that make me feel that if they were addressed, I would love this game more.

For instance, bring back Sandal.

What really bothers me is that much of the gameplay was planned with multiplayer in mind, and it feels that way. They said they will make additional improvements to they MP, but said nothing about SP. It is a trend that Bioware has been on for several years: more and more focus on multiplayer, with single player experiences being almost secondary.

I love this game too, but I'd definitely change a few things. I want to travel through all the areas they made, but by the time I got to the 4th big area, I was burnt out. A lot of the games areas are wasted of smaller quests, that don't seem to really warrant my time. I also kept holding off crafting, until I got some better materials, then with only 3 main missions to go I gave up and just went with the gear I found in the game - which was fine. Nothing really inspired me to craft. I'm sure the item management has been mentioned before, and travelling back to the war room all the time annoyed me. The game was big enough not to have all this 'padding' - but unless there are grand plans for future DLC etc, then I think a lot of it is wasted unfortunately.

The game is freaking beautiful though, and I love the different areas - but also found no use for my mount. It almost seems like they were going to make this an MMO, but changed their mind toward the end.

I also live this game. For many of he reasons stated (except for Vivienne; she's a b****)

Heh. I usually don't pick out things like this but I just had to say something about this. I felt that Vivienne was the only female companion that piqued my interest. All others can be summarised as plain, average, and ultimately boring, with Josephine being the poster girl.

Hm. Re: OP -- I'm grateful for Bioware making a good, basic RPG. I'm not grateful for them lying about specifics (e.g. "designed for PC", or even entire game features) and botching far more aspects of it than acceptable (e.g. hitbox issues in melee and design decisions such as the tactics menu). While I agree that they need to be complimented on their efforts, I see a greater need to point out where they need to improve. See, Electronic Arts works for money. We give them our money, they're happy. They couldn't really care less about our accolades; also, in the flood of (at least partly bought) 9-10/10 ratings and GOTY awards, our little voices are droned out more or less instantly. It really is our responsibility to provide them with criticism so that they can perform better in the future. Just going "omg awesome graphixx" leads to stagnation and ultimately failure.

I agree with most of what you're saying. I do think, however, it's always good to make sure we voice what we like as well, if at least to ensure the devs don't assume we dislike a feature that's actually quite well done :) if there was a way to let them know we enjoyed their game, without having EA taking influence from our comments, I'd definitely go that route ^.^

Seriously I just got on the DA:I forums today for the first time and I read through a bunch of posts all I saw was a lot of complaining about the game. Not liking the exploration missions because they went off the track of the story and so on. So yes I was serious :) I am also serious about loving this game so far. I only have one area left to do and one main story mission left.

My partner is also a game programmer ( no, not bioware I live in Australia )and whilst critic is good, they put their hearts and souls in to making games and it can also be very heart breaking after so many years of work to only see people pointing out bad. It is good to point out the good also. I like a lot of what they have done with this game. Yes there are bugs - there will also be patches. This day and age in computer games it probably shouldn't happen but also always does with every game. I was a big huge critic of Mass Effect 3. Constant for a year or so after playing it but for once, after playing DA:I thus far I don't feel like being a negative critic as I have been extremely entertained and very much enjoying this game.

Yeah. I feel truly sorry for some Bioware people who have had their absolutely stunning work pulled into the dirt by coworkers who didn't pull their weight. The level designers, for example, have done fantastic work. As well as all people concerned with the musical score, and I tip my hat to the guys/gals responsible for atmosphere and mood.

Not to mention the character writing as the characters are awesome. At the level I expect to come from Bioware games. :)

( Varrok and Bianca have my interest! I really want to see more of that story right there. Hoping for a DLC that delves in to it more. )

I am sure the developers poured their hearts and souls into it, as far as the budget of project management allowed.

EA pushed Bioware to put DAI on the market before the end of the fiscal year and for christmas period... If Bioware had more time to work, they will probably have fixed those problems, and they will not have removed the main functionalities of Dragon Age...

Bioware by allying with EA, they have sell their soul to the devil... (ils ont vendu leur âme au diable - more money for sure, but at which cost...)

But now, they have time, a bit of time, but time to solve those problem and restore the functionalities of Dragon Age... The ball is in their camp, if they want to keep our fidelity for next games, they now what to do...

If not, and if they continue to ignore us, i'm sure the next game they will put on the market, will be sulk by bioware fans...

No gamers will pre-order their next game... 50 % of the gamers will buy their next game when they will put it on the market and on the PSN...

All of us will wait until price is down to buy them (and only after testing it for first)

If they want to restore the confidence of their afficionados, they know what to do -> Listen us - > give us satisfaction because we pay, we are custommers, they must listen us and correct those gameplay problems... and stop teasing us without giving us a DLC release date...

Why teasing us if not for a soon release of a game, teasing someone for a game which will come on the market in 3 years is counter productive in 3 years we forgot, we play other games...
