In Wade's Emporium in Denerim you can pay wade 20 sovereigns to make it perfect. I didn't pay the money the first time, but now I have another chance. Is it worth paying? Anyone try to do this?

If you insist on paying him both times, you'll get an even better dragon scale armor should you bring him the scale from the High Dragon at the Frostback Mountains.

And that dragon scale armor is very nice when you pay in full

You only need to pay once for the Drake scales to get the Superior Dragon armor. Paying has no effect on the Drake armor.

If you missed paying the first time you should pay the second time.  But you only need to pay once.

Also, if you commission the second set of Drake armor you cannot purchase anything from the Emporium again (though you can still get the Dragon Armor).  He sells two very good armors (one light and one heavy), probably the best chest pieces available.

From Dragon Age Wiki...

Optimum Order

You can get the Superior versions of the Dragon Scale armors without paying. The optimum order is follow this sequence:

•Give him 3 Drake Scales and get Wade's Drakeskin Armor
•Hand over the last 3 drake scales to get Wade's Superior Drakeskin Armor.
•Lastly, Present the single dragon scale.

This grants you either Wade's Superior Dragonskin Armor, Wade's Superior Dragonscale
Armor
, or Wade's Superior Dragonbone Plate Armor, depending on choice.

Note: This does not have to be done all in one go. You can get the Drakeskin Armor,
use its fire resistance property to help defeat the High Dragon,
then come back at a later date with the Dragon Scale.
Also, you can switch the order of steps 2 and 3
(if for some reason you dont have three more drake scales, but have the dragonscale) and still get
the same result.

I found this to be WRONG.  When I didn't pay I only got regular Dragonbone armor.  Unless they changed this with a patch.

Checking the history page of that entry on Dragon Age Wiki, I see that the section on optimum strategy for obtaining the superior armour was edited on January 26. I know for a fact that it previously gave the optimum procedure as giving 10 gold sovereigns with your FIRST order and no more money after, thus obtaining the superior second and third sets for only a 10 sovereign investment.

As far as I am aware there is no way to obtain the superior armour without paying.

As far as I am aware the person who edited it to say that it was possible to obtain the superior armour without paying at all is either up to mischief, outright mistaken or simply benefited from a lucky glitch and thought it was standard.

My advice would be to pay 10 sovereigns with the first order and no money thereafter. I have used this method on the pc and as far as I am aware it works on other platforms also.

Yep, I can remember reading the same thing a few days ago. This is the problem with Wiki's, any moron with incorrect information can come along and spread disinformation. Just remember that when you list Wikipedia as a reference kids.

i try this manny times, so its my suggest :

1. give 3 drake scale and pay 10 sov. u get wade drakeskin leather set

2. give dragon scale and ask for the best. then u will get wade supperior dragonplate set

3. give again 3 drake scale without paying it and u get wade drakeskin supperior lether set

so for 10 sov u will get one of the best armor in DA. if u not paying anything u ll onlt get dragonplate not the supperior. CMIIW

I thought you got a 2nd scale for beating Flemeth and needed to use that to get the superior armour, if you have to pay sovereigns to get the best armour then well, I'm screwed outta that result lol. Been a long time since I collected the normal dragonbone armour from him so can't go loading a save from then anymore :/

Also, I have 1 more drake scale after getting the superior drakeskin armour from him. from Orzimmar. He wouldn't do anything with it >.>

That's funny cause in my plays I've never paid him ( I think I only did it once just for the heck of it) and I still got the same Leather Drakeskin armor, the Superior Drakeskin armor, and the Dragonbone armor.
I always asked how much he wants but he blows it off. Then there's the option to pay to 'make it perfect', but he never likes the first set he makes even when I did pay him. So, now I don't.

You don't get any dragon scales from beating Flemeth, only from the High Dragon in the Urn of Sacred Ashes quest. And the second set of armor is still drake scale. As for only having one left, I'm guessing you left two drakes in the caverns. Go back and kill them. ;)

I wasn't going back, but I'll be sure to try this now that I began a 2nd play-thru. I like the zoloft40mg suggestion. As a newly licensed pharmacist, you can't go wrong with a name like that.

I have always paid the 10 gold up front and had him make both drake scale sets before i turn over the dragon scale and this works fine for me. I get drake scale set with fire resistance only, one set with fire resistance and i think a dex buff, the massive dragon bone plate is fire resistance and i think a sta regen or sta number boost. I do think you only have to pay once either 10 or 20 gold and it seems to make no difference in the quality of the items he makes.

This is what I am going for this time around. I can afford the 10 sov and want the best armor. I've heard some say that they did not pay, but did you still get the best armor?
