Are they bugged? I NEVER see Stormbringer proc and Gathering Storm doesn't seem to reduce any of my cooldowns...

I hear gathering storm is bugged but Stormbringer is not. I can confirm it was working for me, now I don't know if its bugged on the cooldown time but it was working. The animation is like a sinlge lightning bolt, it might be hard to notice if you are using chain lightning a lot.

With Gathering Storm being defunct, Stormbringer seems rather useless. *sigh* Respec time, I guess. I liked the thought of being primarily a storm mage.

Gathering Storm is indeed screwed: http://forum.bioware...d-spirit-blade/

Storm magic is still pretty good otherwise, though!

Come to think of it, something keeps proccing randomly and hitting nearby halla and fennecs and such (non-aggressive critters)... It's probably Stormbringer, and it's kind of annoying because sometimes the others in my party go haring off after the terrified critter.

Static Cage is really awesome though. Static Cage + Fire Mine + Solas' Vortex spell = screwed enemies. As much as people complain about Vortex, I find it situationally very useful to keep enemies in a neat cluster to better AoE them.

Static Cage + Upgrade is fantastic. A lot of people don't realize that it's not the paralysis they should be happy about...it's all of that shock dmg from EACH hit they take. Just a single launch of Energy Barage or Leaping Shot can decimate everything inside with the spam if generated lightnight bolts.

I have the upgraded version, heh. I spam Immolate (upgraded) and Fire Mine (upgraded) on enemies trapped inside the cage, thanks to Clean Burn reducing their cooldowns. Also, enemies that are outside the cage when it's placed on the ground but then run into it are summarily trapped and paralyzed. That's where Vortex of the Abyss comes in. It literally sucks enemies into the cage. It requires some micromanaging of Solas, but that's okay.

If one were to stuff all of this into one mage, it would make for an interesting and entertaining Rift Mage build.

static cage + chain lightning for multiple enemies/energy barrage for single target

there are so many broken things in the storm tree :/

conductive current seems to be capped at 20% damage [40% mana loss] even if you are missing 80% mana
