How?
and furthermore why?
This is the equivalent of someone ripping off their leg and giving it to someone who doesn't need it for no legitimate reason.
Supermans powers aren't Pokemon cards, can't just give them away. It's apart of his biology.

You are thinking about this way to hard.
lol it's meant to be thought provoking, it isn't meant to be some kind of profound question to solve the problems of the universe. Now participate. ![]()
1.) With the power of Super Science.
2.) Because he's Superman and he wants a break, and since any one person having all his powers would likely turn evil, he decided it might be less tempting or less impossible to stop such a person by instead spreading the love, and giving multiple people a taste of what its like to be Superman.
Superman has on occasion given other people Super Powers, most recently having given Lois powers equal to his for a day.

This is an oxymoron if I ever did hear one.

1. What is this the silver age? Is Batman gonna get a Zebra suit and The Flash is gonna use a treadmill to time travel?
2. Couldn't he just ask Captain Marvel (Or Shazam now I guess) to take over for a bit? There's almost a billion different alternatives that don't require genetically maiming yourself.
You mean in All Star Superman? The Elseworlds story based heavily on the Silver Age.
It's a great story but I don't use it for canon basis.

Really? The ones I go to we usually talk about the movies or Tv shows.
Can't believe there was a guy today who actually LIKES Gotham.

nope..do you by chance work for BioWare? I'm assuming since because you are on this board, you played their games and thus know stuff about them, so clearly you must work for BioWare. See I draw far reaching conclusion too.

Unless im writing for DC comics im almost certain this hypothetical isn't going to be canon anytime soon either. Also those responses were to another person who clearly wanted way more information than I thought a honest hypothetical question about Superman and other fictional characters merited. It's a off topic topic, why already derail it?

That'd be your idea for a storyline? Yeeesh, good luck getting that past the editors.
It has no basis in logic.
You wish to ask a question. But it's a question that hardly makes sense within the universe it's based in where better alternatives exist.
You can try to take the easy way out by pointing out they're fictional characters. But that's what 5th graders who lose arguments do.
This is worse than the Internets many "Who would win in a fight" arguments.
Also the best way to keep from derailing the thread in all honesty was too ignore me. People never seem to consider this an option.

I was just asking because I have spent hundreds of hours in comic book stores.... and this was the type of thing we would talk about. My post was not meant as a slight. I also have quite a collection of comics myself.
You seem a wee bit defensive. I meant no disrespect.

If he did, he would never have agreed to get rebooted in that new movie. ![]()

Still better than Superman Returns
That was the one I meant.
Superman Returns: How to Completely Massacre the Character of Lois Lane.
(I suppose I'm aware that it's not a "reboot," but supposedly a true sequel to the first two films that ignores the events of Superman III and IV, but whatevah!)
