Here's why.

EA has faulty DLC codes for Deluxe Edition and even appalling post sales and customer service.

I bought Dragon Age Inquisition Deluxe Edition for PS3 and their contained DLC codes don't work.

By the time I went through like 5-7 pages of hard to find self-help pages on their support page to get to the Live Chat, my character has already out-level and found better items than the DLC items.

There is no email and telephone support. Live chat takes 30 minutes to connect and their outsourced staff ends the chat abruptly without solving your issues.

When they reissued the new DLC codes and I tried it, it was not valid. Don't EA test these things?

So I had to waste another 30 plus minutes waiting for Live Chat only to have the staff end the chat abruptly without solving my problems.

Long story to short, after being pushed to ask Sony for help and getting pushed back to EA and after going through so many verification (Could you write your date on the receipt and take a picture of it with the game, could you tell me the DLC code countless times), I was told to wait for a fix because there is nothing they can do to help me.

Moral of the story: better off buying standard editions of you really have to play their games. These jokers don't seem to QA their games seriously and this problem is pretty widespread.

At least exchanging faulty disc is a hassle free experience. Even with that, you have to content with buggy games.

I think the stuff works for enough people that if something didn't work for you, it wasn't because they didn't test anything, or because they hated you specifically  :P

That being said, I do hope they put some major effort into fixing the bugs/glitches and helping this game become even better :)

I still have faith in Bioware, even after the issues that were had with the last few games. I'll buy that DLC, particularly if it has something to do with a certain bald elf...

Mine behaved inconsistently, but worked for the most part.

Evaluation and testing using some comprehensive plan could have caught many of these issues b4 launch.   The "we fell behind" excuse is weak if you have a plan- the evidence speaks otherwise.

Things can slip. It's not quite the same, but I worked theater tech for several years and one of the major issues had to do with people not being reliable for some reason or another. If EA, their main funder, as I as understand it, told them they needed to continue because the release date was non negotiable, that's not Bioware's fault necessarily - EA may not have understood what was needed to fix everything. Or if there was a bad error found midway through that made forced the teams to halt their progress in order to salvage what they could, that's not something one can easily plan for, you know?

The DLCs remain relevant with the schematics you get later. Just FYI.

I've purchased (preordered - never again will I do it!) the deluxe version over on amazon, and I'm highly disappointed in the extra gadgets that comes with the game. The dragon armor, and weapons (It's not even listed as unique, only rare!) should be a powerful set yet you quickly find yourself with better armor, and weapons from looting.

I actually bought the digital deluxe edition for Xbox one & had no problems getting my content So it's not the dlc thats the problem, but the manufacturing of said dlc redemption code sheets. why the codes wouldn't work for you is beyond me but It definitely wasn't the doc that was the issue.

If I recall correct DLC stuff show later on.

Armor and weapon show after you've finished prolouge/tutorial in Haven where you first wake up you get dragon armor/weapon set for your class and fighting style.

When you get Skyhold you get rest of content...throne,mounts and schematic for dragon armor/weapon for all classes.

Their over the phone customer support is way better.  I can personally attest EA Live Chat support is horrifying(I don't think they're even based in the US).  Bought a couple of the packs for ME3 Multiplayer years ago and lost them due to a known error.  The chat representative said he "investigated" and said there's no failed transactions, refused to do anymore to help me and really didn't give a care.  Kept trying to give me the run around to make me go away when I argued and argued and told me to post on the BIoWare boards about it.

Went to their phone support the next day about the same issue.  Not only did I get someone in the US, but the rep apologized and offered me credit for more packs to make up for the ones I lost, didn't ask any questions or try to give me the run around to avoid helping me.

^This. No money until you fix the game I already bought Bioware. (P.S. Can you also please buy yourselves out from under EA? I'd prefer that, personally.)

good idea

this crowbarring in of multiplayer in ME3 and DAI takes away from the actual game play and polishing and QA.

'BUT MUH SEPARATE TEAMS'

screw separate teams have one dedicated team workign on a one good product not two shoddy ones

all multiplayer is a microtransation heaven for EA's pockets in both games

I pre-ordered the Deluxe version and  it wasn't worth it. The armor and weapons you get are only good until you reach lvl 4. I crafted better weapons until I found the Suledin Blade.

You get schematics for the armor and weapon when you get to Skyhold so you can craft them.

Not how it works. The extra team and funding for that team wouldn't go to the SP team.

I'm doubtful my lone opinion will sway Bioware one way or another. If you have issues you wish to share, I think it may be more prudent to discuss those instead, rather than focusing on me. In that way, there's a higher chance for them to be recognized and addressed, whereas aiming your comment solely at me doesn't truly allow for Bioware to at least be made aware of the issues you're having.
