Things can slip. It's not quite the same, but I worked theater tech for several years and one of the major issues had to do with people not being reliable for some reason or another. If EA, their main funder, as I as understand it, told them they needed to continue because the release date was non negotiable, that's not Bioware's fault necessarily - EA may not have understood what was needed to fix everything. Or if there was a bad error found midway through that made forced the teams to halt their progress in order to salvage what they could, that's not something one can easily plan for, you know?
You give an awful lot of slack to a company who is known for exactly that (EA).. And if Bioware "had to do it cuz EA said so", no.. Bioware is still a company, that needs to keep customer support for their own name sake.. You dont allow another company, shareholder or not, push your product into the ground if you feel it needs further polish..
These products are randomly chosen at regular intervals for inspection.. Throughout the entire production process.. The amount of broken statues, completely unreadable, discolored discs, and bad codes are not going to "slip through the cracks" on this large a scale...
That said, i find much of the crafted weapons to be faar too powerful, to an already weak difficulty.. I crafted a ferelden mace, i think, at lvl 8ish, and its still mroe powerful than anythin im finding(purple included) at lvl 16...Or am just beginning to find comparable items.. 167dps, 20%armor pene, 9%stagger, some str, and const....
