I don't believe there will be that much SP DLC. Hardly anything at all, IMO.

I keep reading that this engine is notorious for being difficult to program with and is glitchy. There is a long portion of video gamers that would love to mod the Dragon Age series and they did so to a great extent with previous iterations.

DA:I, however, was purposely chosen to utilize this engine. Personally, I believe it was deliberate to allow extreme and exclusive control over any and all possible content that could be developed for the game. I think they were hoping the modders would find it too difficult to really do anything of substantial value outside of very minor cosmetic changes.

This, coupled with the fact that Bioware has been incredibly annoying in being very quiet concerning any real news of substantial worth in regards to future patches and DLC leads me to believe that the company, for the most part, will be concentrating on MP DLC almost exclusively as the game itself was originally meant to be MP in the first place.

I think Bioware is trending towards a MP environment with their games because their costs of actually making truly great SP are starting to become more trouble than its worth.

My two cents.

Hasn't even been two months yet.   Was DLC ever announced earlier than that in their past games?

Only way I am bothering with a DLC for this game is if it's free of charge.

They've had substantial, game-altering DLC available on day 1 several times...

I believe the reason they choose this engine is because EA wanted all their developers to use a single engine (Frostbite which they own) instead of each making its own which is logical because it saves both money and time in the long run.

I cant help but think that as much as I like Frostbite and its destructive environments and all, it is an engine that is initially developed for Battlefield which is an FPS and it is not designed for games like DA.

Let's hope they make Frostbite more flexible and capable of handling games other than FPS in time.

Maybe it'll be easier now that they have altered the engine to their liking?

I predict that there will be two or three pieces of story-based, single-player DLC available between now and November. Same as DA2 and ME3. I don't think the engine has anything to do with how likely we are to see this.

No way, unless this game sold a LOT worse than expected (unlikely).

People get news about day 1 DLC and they cry foul. Now they have to wait a few months with no substantial info and they cry foul.

There is just no winning with some people is there? You don't want Day 1 DLC because you automatically assume that it is cut content that they are selling back to you but you just have to have all the information about future DLC almost as soon as the game comes out? Make up your damn minds.

ALSO, all the multiplayer dlc will probably be free like Mass Effect. so they will really only get money from the people that get addicted to Freemium.

Its simple, really. Higher ups just send a memo to the PR people of exactly what they wish for them to say such as...

"We have something in the works so stay tuned" or... "We do indeed have DLC content planned and will reveal more information soon"...yadda yadda.

I do not consider their "blog" to be of any worth as I do not believe most people would know to look there or even care to look there. Twitter/Facebook would be far quicker and I haven't heard any news about it.

Forums/Facebook/Twitter are the real news sharing networks. Their silence says a lot. They need to change that.

Which pisses people off--and hasn't occured since Bioware was part of EA, I think. They no longer set their own development schedules.

Regarding this game being difficult to mod being equivalent to being difficult to add dlc. Nope. The reason it's difficullt to mod is that we don't have the access to the game that bioware does, in part because we would need access to the third party software that Bioware uses and is not licensed to hand out for free (even if they could, but which EA woullldn't want them doing).

Didnt they say they wouldnt have another Awakening types expansion? But then what do they mean by Awakening type. I think we'll get two or three mid size SP DLCs but right now it's to early for them to announce anything.

It means were aren't getting a 20 hour DLC.  We're probably getting "Mark Of The Assaain" and "Legacy" sized DLC.

I am starved for DLC right now.  And I shouldn't be because this game at it is, is an incomplete mess.

If they don't at least come out with 3 more bug fixing patches and 5 major outfit and hair DLCs for SP I am going to cry manly tears.

There's clearly a middleground between day 1 DLC and waiting months before even hinting at DLC. Two months is a long time in the game world. Most people who are gonna finish the game have already finished it. People are starting to forget about Inquisition. The longer they wait the worse the DLC will sell.

The fact that some bugs haven't been fixed yet is completely unacceptable though.  People said AC: Unity was a buggy mess?  I scoff at that.  Well, that's me going off on a tangent though.  This is about DLC I suppose.  Whatever.

How many games have come out since November 18th? Every one of them is potentially taking away DLC sales for Inquisition. We don't even know when we'll know when the DLC will come out.

Unity was unplayable. Inquisition's gamebreaking bugs made Unity's gamebreaking bugs look absurd, and Inquisition's have been fixed. Unity is still basically unplayable. Inquisition just has more minor bugs left to fix. Unity's developers/publisher won't even commit to fixing all of the gamebreaking bugs, instead assuring customers that the next game will have fewer bugs.

minor bugs?  I beg to differ.  Inquisition still suffers from MAJOR mesh and animation bugs that hinder immersion.  They may not directly dampen the actual playing of the game, but they're extremely obvious and may well be just as ridiculous as the missing face thing from Unity.
