in the words from joe from reservior dogs:
"i'll move on when I feel like it."
Can't we confine ME3 butthurt to the ME boards?
Nope. I suffered severe emotional trauma from the ending of a third person shooter and everyone needs to know about it for all time.
ME3 gave me PTSD
They aren't late.
Lets take a look at Mass Effect 3 - Bioware's game before Inquisition. The first DLC was released a full 5 months after release. ME3 was released in March. Leviathan was released in August. It hasn't even been a full 2 months yet. From The Ashes doesn't count since it is day 1 and developed alongside the full game.
That stuff's fungible. You can start the DLC development at whatever time you like in order to make it suit your projected release date. It might mean a different resource allocation between DLC and game teams pre-launch, but so what?
So all you're saying is that Bio should announce the DLC now even if it won't be out for a couple more months? Again, Bio never does that. Unlike DLC release dates, there are no exceptions to the pattern of when they announce DLC. Look it up if you don't believe there's a pattern.
If you want to make a case that they're making a big mistake, give it a shot. I don't see how announcing a DLC today that won't be out until March would do any good whatsoever.
I recall Bethesda takings yonks to announce their first meaningful dlc. Large scale games have a habit of taking awhile to release dlcs.
We will get the alternative to Inquisitor pajamas we deserve, eventually.
We will get more patched soon enough. I know a lot of the Dragon Age team took an extended winter break after shipping DAI. I suspect we will get another priority 1 patch in another week or two. They have also made a blog stating that they are also working on priority 2 patches which will add content and features to the game. I am assuming these patched will add things like a mirror of transformation, new hair styles, storage chests, and etc.
We also know that at least one story DLC is in the works. The DAI trailer showed at gamescom or E3 (cannot remember which one) said that Microsoft consoles would get the world premiere content FIRST. Microsoft later clarified that they were talking about the FIRST single player DLC.
I suspect we will get about 3 medium sized story DLC. One will probably be the equivalent of ME3's citadel DLC, which Mike Laidlaw has stated he wants to see more DLC offer what that DLC did (aka a solid and fun story, some combat, deep interactions that added to romances and the sense camaraderie). I doubt we will get the whole Solas DLC people want but maybe I am wrong.
This thread makes me angry and I don't know why.
I cant help but think that as much as I like Frostbite and its destructive environments and all, it is an engine that is initially developed for Battlefield which is an FPS and it is not designed for games like DA.
Let's hope they make Frostbite more flexible and capable of handling games other than FPS in time.
A team of good programmers. With the way they used the engine it works well with Dragon Age Inquisition, but they might not have given their programmers enough time to work on everything they needed to work on. Much like the writers never get enough time to finish writing everything.
I wouldn't mind if the visuals looked worse if the game played better and the story writing was awesome.

Working with a game engine is more than just programming. If the toolset of the engine does not support a certain feature, the engine and/or the toolset needs to be altered. Also, this round, it is not Bioware who are working on the Frostbite engine, I have heard/read that they are working together with the Frostbite team. The Frostbite team also has to support other games that will be switching to Frostbite so no time in the world is enough for programmers to "finish" all the requirements and such is the reality of this industry.
It is not about the visuals which is the lighting, effects, etc. It is to figure out how to get the engine/toolset to do certain things. An example that comes to mind is the invisible character tactical camera. Why one might ask do they need to create an invisible character for that purpose and ultimately lead to that invisible character getting stuck, my guess is that the engine/toolset does not support such a feature and to alter the engine to support such a feature would take a lot of time and effort and it is not a priority. If I remember correctly, Frostbite initially dont even support bears, dragons and all the other four legged animals and that has to be added and was a priority.
They cant be given an indefinite timeline, 4 years I think is fair.
