As much as I love armored mages (I mean, it just makes sense) I would also like the option of using traditional mage robes. Are there any we can use in the game? All I can think of are Dalish Keeper Robes, but those are elf only.

No, there are no mage robes in the game, only The Trenchcoat.

It kind of makes sense not to run around looking like a mage right now, but it would be nice if there was one at least.

At the moment the closest your going to robes is the keep robes for elf mages, other then that it's grey warden armor or trench coats.

The Orlesian Army Battlemage Armor looks kind of robey.

Not my screenshot but here it is.

Not great but there's not much variation really.

Yea the game is atrocious as far as armour (and robe) variations are concerned... so poor it is laughably bad, but then again so is the sad hair. If you liked Merril's starter armour from DA2, head to Hissing Springs and buy the Dalish Scout amour (it is expensive) from the dog merchant. Then go to either Exalted Plains or Emprise du Lion to farm Snouflur skins (using them will remove class requirement... although you still must be an elf). The schematic is tier 3.

Im really glad my main, mage female char is an elf: the dalish keeper, scout and warrior armors are the only ones I`ve seen in game or other peoples screenshots so far that I`d truly be happy with to run around in, well at least in higher levels when you`d expect your char to look at least as good as companions and other npc around you!!  And the hero should look even better, shouldn`t she/he?!

Sigh, I`d kill a lot of hard to fight stuff to get to wear things like Morrigan, or Vivienne, or any "side person" mage in their dresses and robes, or even the female townspersons, peasants etc...

Come , please, please, give us something like this, preferably in a free patch!!

Im pretty dumbed by the "forced unique style" of your inquisitor (mage but other classes too) , every companion has their "unique style" and so do you, yours seems to be a sort of unisex napoletanean military look, something I´d never wear in a game on a female char if I could choose..(nor in real life XD)

Not even asking for super sexed up bikini armors (not that I`d personally mind those either :D), but indeed I`d be happier in most of female townspersons garb than what the inquisitor currently has..

Am a 40 year old female in real life, for feedback reseach purposes, lol  .

I love the trench coats. But I do wish they had more variety in designs by region. I mean, if I pick up a piece of armor in Ferelden, I think it should look more gruff, as if it did come from old England. On the other hand, if I want the same quality of armor, but want more of the light "trench coat / fancy" look, then I'll pick up Orlesian armor. If I want something more "mystical-looking" then I should find that type of armor when kililing enemies that hail from Tevinter.

If you can find the Free Army Mage Robes those should suffice
