I guess for this experiment they would be exactly how they are in the games, so killing people. But to me it's not about that, it's about mindset. That's why none of the assassin-type people are in my friends category, and quite a few are rivals. Their mindsets are incompatible with mine, and yours, it would seem. As for most of the others, the killing done is generally justified (self-defense etc), especially if you play a "good-guy" PC. That's my opinion anyway.

Well it's more that I just can't see myself moving in the same circles as most of them. Except for DA2, the Dragon Age characters are brought together because they really need to go kill something. We don't really see what the Origins or Inquisition cast gets up to when they aren't trying to save the world. In DA2, you get a better appreciation of what the companions' daily lives are like, but there's still a lot of time spent going around and fighting things. I can see why my Warden, Hawke, and Inquisitor are friends with them, but for me personally it's kind of hard to imagine being friends with these people unless it's some sort of alternate universe where they're all content to hang out in a coffee shop.

 

But if we're just going by personality, I'd say I'd probably be friends with:

 

Varric (aforementioned slightly-shady friend who has your back regardless)

Aveline (friends in a, "she bitches about her day at work and I listen sympathetically" sort of way)

Cassandra (we could talk about smutty - but not actually that smutty - novels together!)

Solas (strikes me as the kind of guy that you could stay up all night having mind-blowing conversations about ideas with)

Unhardened!DAO!Leliana (her older version is a bit too grim, but bubbly Leli and I would get along just fine)

Alistair (reminds me of my kid brother, seems like he'd be fun to be around, though he really needs to cut down on the deflection-through-humour thing)

Dorian (not sure if the slavery apologism would be a dealbreaker, but he's fun and basically a magical grad student. I think we could have some cool conversations)

Josephine (Probably the most normal member of the Inquisition. Seems like she could use a friend)

Human!Cole (spirit cole is a bit too alien to be friends with, but human cole seems like he'd be a good person to have around)

 

I'm torn about Zev. On the one hand, I think he'd be an amazing person to be around. On the other hand, I have a feeling that he'd troll me mercilessly.   Would probably be worth it, though. Similarly torn about Bull and Sera. Bull is a good friend, but he also finds most pleasure in fighting. Since I can't do that, I'm not sure what we'd have in common. Sera is fun, but also immature. I'd love to be friends with a Sera that's a bit older and more self-aware.

To be my friend you need to be intrested in similar things as me so we have something to talk about. So I guess I need to think how DA characters would be in modern AU:

 

- Merrill: we both are intrested in history. We both would be university students and passionately discussl over things during breaks.

- Zevran: Hmm he's very friendly but usually his type aren't friends with me although I think I'd find him quite attractive and would like to be friends with him ^^ He would be probaply crush XD

- Cassandra: She's cool and we could talk about certain type of literature..

- Sigrun. We could have common hobby.

- Dorian. I'd want to be he's friend, I'm not sure if that is mutual :3 He'd be cool hipster student who hangs out in cafe and library.

- Iron Bull: I can't imagine how in the world we would end up friends but I'd like it nevertheless.

 

Who I 100% wouldn't want to be friends with: Vivienne, Morrigan & Velanna. There wouldn't be anything mutual and I would hate their guts.

I met my best friend nine years ago (wow, it's really been that long) and he's so much like Varric that is not even funny (well, he draws instead of writing, but still).

Aside from him I'd say Morrigan, Alistair, Isabela (maybe more than friends if she was interested, I could never resist Isabela) and Bethany.

Acquaintances would be the rest except Sera, Velanna, DA2 Anders and Sebastian. The last three I just have no interest in talking to, Sera, well, she has a more visceral reaction.

Zevran is friendly and would grab a beer with him mostly has a cool background and all that

Alastair: reminds me of my cousin Adam great guy funny and warrior since he hunts and stuff. So yes I would hang out with his type of people


Fenris: great romance and characters but in real life I would stay far away from him or his type of person


Vivenne: I would not hang out with some so infuriating to me

Anders pre Justice god yes after Justice just like Fenris would stay far away from him

Too hard to say. I always tend to end up being great friends with the people I least expect and often dislike at first and find the ones I like the most (at first) to be disappointing friends or just not what I end up wanting in a friend (I get sick of some people very quickly).

I would adopt Alistair and become his big sister.

I'd like to be friends with Cullen, I really like his sense of humour and I'd probably be losing at chest very badly, but I also enjoy the game. I also often feel that I could learn many things from him.

I think I would get along very well with Cassandra, Josephine, Aveline and Dorian. Varric would infuriate me now and then.

Wynne can be my grandmother anytime and Flemeth too.

Cass: I might get a bit in the rivalry-type relation with her at first due to her brashness, but normally I can expect for this to develop into full friendship. She is brash but very loyal, trusting, full of compassion & sympathy.

 

Alistair: Funny, a tiny bit shy, loyal. The good & loyal friend I'll love to have when I'm not romancing this kind of guy. He reminds me a lot to my bf.

 

Cullen: My best friend in real life has exactly similar personality like him. Need time to earn his trust & build the bond, but once it's there, he's friend for a lifetime. Anyway this guy get lots of quality I appreciate: loyalty, strength & resilience, ability to question one's self & one's faith, not afraid of admitting his errors & take step to correct them, brave & courageous. The kind of guy that I want to walk beside him & be a support for one another when bad times come.

 

Varric: When I'll never be Varric's best friend (Hawke keep that spot), I'm sure to like having him around.

 

Carver: weird as it might seem, I like Carver. He's so much like my own little brother & it'll be rivalry type relation at first however.

 

Merril: I have a thing for bubbliness!

 

Aveline: for the same reason like Cass...

 

Dorian: if he'll let me be his friend. I'd love having him around for sure.

Blackwall, nope will not bother with him and would hate the lie thing that he does great Charcter and all but in real life stay away.

Sera: I like her character but she is way too immature for my taste in friends kind of how I view Merill naiveness in the game I hated it and wanted to slap both of them. But I also though Merill was adorable in an annoying sister kind of way. So I would hangout with Merill and stay away from Sera.

Nathaniel Howe is someone I would bang and marry him if I could in the game and real life. He is a kind soul so I would be glad to grab a beer with him and talk and give him a hug. He needs one.


Valena is a real ****** would hate her as a friend so I would stay far away from her and have killed her in the game a few times. Just because I can get away with it lol

Dorian best buddies for life dude is my best bro and would hang out in real life

Iron bull don't mind his character I like him but would never hang out with someone like him in real life he rubs me the wrong way for some reason. I guess the way he treats the Inqusitor and Dorian in their romance turns me off his charcter, since I was a bit iffy with his verison BDSM as I saw it as verily unhealthy but that just because I fimilar with this type of realationship after reading Sunstone. Not the Fifty shade of grey crap

Carver: He is an anoying baby brother so yeah I would hang out with him and grab a beer. Since he acts like my annoying baby sister whom I adore and would protect with my life

Bethany no real personaltiy to me but would respect her and protect her from all the bad things out their.

Sigrun would hang out with her as well but she was forgettable to me because I actually almost forgot her kind of like Blackwall and Jacob of mass effect

Aveline wanted to slap her for a lot of things she did in the game not includeing telling my mage Hawke she should be locked up for her failling in the fade and also not doing her job by protecting the guards that raped a elf after she heard a rumor about it but she is alright. I guess for an fictional friend.

Lileana we would so hang out together and talk about shoes and peoples hair

My Rivals would be probably

Wayne, since I am a rebel type of personality and she isn't one. But I respect her and take advise from her since you know wisdom.

Morgian, since I am a goody two shoes she probaly would hate that about me. lol
