By golly. They've issued a hotfix for Patch 9 already. Can someone test it? I'm not at home, and I don't have access to my gaming computer.

Just give me a second and I'll check it out.

Edit: Works!

I'm having issues with SweetFX not saving that extra screenshot. It's set to the screenshot button but i only get the low res normal one.

Anyone got any ideas on what to tweak? It's nowhere to be found in my game directory.

Thank you!

I hope someone here can help me, I have wasted all of my Sunday for this and cannot find a solution. :(

I use RadeonPro do inject SweetFx into DAI, but when I'm ingame pressing the toggle button, only the notification in the top right corner shows up that says "Sweet FX On / Off". But: There is no visible change. I tried to change the preset to something really bold so it would have to pop, but nothing changes. I can't for the life of me find out what the problem is.

I'm on Windows 10 now; before that I used RadeonPro and the same injector and preset on Win 7 and it worked like a charm.

When trying to use RP after the change to Win 10 it made the game crash upon starting, but I managed to correct that via installing/repairing the DirectX that was installed. After that I uninstalled and re-installed RP, setting it up freshly and setting up the DAI profile to use SweetFx.

Installing SweetFx manually or using the Configurator does not help either, no changes are visible. And trying to install the preset manually makes my game unable to start because of some weird dll missing error (I don't remember the exact error message that I got, I just uninstalled SweetFx from the DAI-folder and that problem was gone).

Sooo ... Anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

Try http://reshade.me/

It's a new injector for shaders (including sweetfx) that fixes the compatibility issues the old ones had.

Here is a comparison of a 21:9 image at 1920x810 (same pixel density as 1080p) and 6144x2592 (same pixel density as 3072p, or 6K resolution).

Pay attention to the grasses and fern fronds. See how they separate, become less choppy and more distinct. The whole scene gains clarity, as well as depth.

When you're taking shots at lower resolutions, the game is trying to render a lot of information with a small amount of pixels, so some of that information gets lost. That's why you don't see gaps in between the fern fronds, or why grass looks like it has choppy bits missing all the way along each blade. When you go up in resolution, the game is rendering the same amount of information with a greater amount of pixels at its disposal, so those extra pixels can fill in the gaps.

That 6144x2592 picture is 16MP. Scenes with lots of foliage can really benefit from that kind of size. However, bloom doesn't scale well at all, so 8-12MP seems to be a sweet spot for most things. A standard aspect ratio of 16:9 at 4K resolution is 8.3MP. 5K is 14.7MP. 6K is 18.9MP. By comparison, 1080p is 2.1MP, and 1440p is 3.7MP.

You'll see shadows also get darker and tighter when the resolution increases. If you're using something like ReShade and intend to hotsample, you should account for that when adjusting your shadows.

edit no. 2

I realised what the problem was as soon as switched over to the laptop to use the internet ( damn kids playing fallout 4 ). On the laptop all four screenshots look exactly the same. Cue much embarrassment on my part. A couple of weeks ago the PC was hooked up to to the television and I had this forum double zoomed . I'd completely forgotten to change it back when it went back on the monitor. That appears to be my issue  :pinched:

If you want to point and laugh, I chucked the original post, and my embarrassment under a spoiler.
