I appreciate both of your help on trying to figure it out. I just uploaded the screens to see if there was something obvious I was missing. Apparently I'm doing everything on the surface correctly? Which makes me feel better. Unfortunately I still can't get a good result and I think I've done everything I know to try or can find on the topic.

Oh and I am running Windows 7 64bit. I've tried 8.1 and I'll use a stone tablet and chisel before I go back to that nightmare.

I've tried every which way to get Sweetfx running other than RadeonPro and that's all that will work, at least on my setup. Never had this trouble with Skyrim...*mumble mumble mumble*.

Also, aside from the memory bottleneck, I should be able to do at least 4k running dual gtx 690s ( I got a stupid deal I couldn't say no to ) so...QuadSLI.

Which is absolute trash I might add. Most games run best using one card aka regular 2 gpu sli (on a single screen that is), because devs never bother to optimize for 4 (because it's ridiculous). And yes I've tried taking shots with 1,2, and 4 gpus and it makes no difference on the resolution problem.

What I do is pick the aspect ratio I want in SRWE (whether it be 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, whathaveyou), frame the shot at a smaller size that fits on my monitor, and then blow up the window to the larger size of the same aspect ratio to take the shot. Boom you have exactly what you framed with no guess-work and no cropping needed in PS.

This is exactly my process, except the resolution of the image file that's saved is always native.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I know it's heresy, but I honestly am happy with Windows 8.1. I haven't had any issues with it and it's very easy to use (for the most part). Games that folks have said don't work on Win 8.1 run no problem for me.

SLI is too much of a hassle for me to deal with, especially since most games are not optimized to run that way. I game on a single monitor, and I don't need to game at 4K, so one good GPU is plenty for me. Though I will admit I'm foaming at the mouth a bit for NVIDIA to come out with the replacement for the 780ti (I would imagine a 980ti).

In general I prefer the Nvidia products too, but I try to buy most things second hand. I realized years ago that for the cost of a new Titan I can buy 2x690s and a SSD. So yea...it hasn't been until now that all of sudden games are bumping up against the memory problem. So it will be time to buy a couple 4gb cards and a mobo in a few months for Star Citizen.

Edit: I didn't finish my thought. I prefer the more open source friendly attitude of ATI. Rather than the proprietary policies of Nvidia.  So that's another reason to buy Nvidia second hand.

I've had bad experience with ATI, and they seem to run hotter. For the most part, I've had good luck with NVIDIA. Previous to the 780ti, I'd never spent more than $250 on a GPU, but when I had my current machine built I figured why not go for the big whammy. Just over a year ago when I ordered my system, the 780ti was THE card to get for "future proofing" for several years. Little did I know that 3GB VRAM would so quickly get chucked out the window with games like Shadows of Mordor, etc. Good thing I don't play it, lol. But I'm sure given time I will buy a game where I won't be able to run everything full out. Even DA:I comes close to that 3GB ceiling with how I run it.

Well all I can say is I have a camera and the XBOX 360 version of this game so I picture capture that way.

Thank you for the reply, but yes, I've tried dozens of resolutions. Both large and small. As far as cinematic tools is concerned, I haven't really had any issues using free cam or any of the other controls I've tinkered with in there.

I just can't seem to get *any* other resolution to work with SRWE.

Here's the whole thing as I'm taking the shot. And I'm using RadeonPro which uses F10 for screen grabs (assignable), The printscreen button just uses the in game SS feature.

Burrito.png

On a side note: when I try to use Sweetfx as a standalone, even with the x64dlls in Boulotaur's preset, nothing happens. It will only work with RadeonPro as the injector.

Been having this issue with screenshots also.  Yesterday was the first time I have tried to play since patch 6 and when I try to use swre to resize the resolution the screen size will change but the resolution will remain the same.  Then when i take a screen the shot reverts back to my desktop resolution.  The only 2 things that have changed for me are patch 6 and the adding the newest set of nvidia drivers.

Probably won't have time this week to work on this more so I'll have to try to fix it next weekend.

I'm having the exact same problem. It's not a patch 6 issue, I reverted to patch 5 and it's there too...

Have you guys tried re-installing SRWE or rolling back the NVIDIA driver? I haven't updated my driver or moved to Patch 6. For reference I am on driver version 347.52. What version were you on when SRWE last worked for you?

I'm an ATI user. Haven't changed anything since last time  SRWE worked fine (couple of weeks ago). I did roll back to patch 5 because I can't play with mods in patch 6. But I doubt is related... Cinematic Tools is also behaving oddly, something is up.

well darn.  There goes my theory of it being the latest nvidia drivers.  I might try a clean install of the game and see where that gets me.  Won't happen until the weekend however.

Well, when I turned my computer on and started up DAI, RadeonPro didn't work again. No SweetFX, no screenshot capability, nothing. Even when launched from RadeonPro's menu. I had not changed a single setting since the last time it worked. Maybe something is auto-updating?

There is something absolutely weird somewhere. I've disabled all other non-critical processes to narrow it down and I'm coming up with nothing.

As far as the nvidia drivers roll back, I don't know if it will help. I started this process with older drivers and updated to see if it would help (it didn't). Who knows, maybe I should try Melissa's specific driver to see if that does it. Melissa what version of SWRE are you using?

@MelissaGT and other Windows 8(.1) users. You may want to read this, regarding Vram.

It's unrelated to DA:I, but I'm having this same issue with Skyrim. It's the first time I've tried to use it with that game and I can't figure it out. DA:I still works fine though.

FWIW, I discovered that RadeonPro (which I use for screenshots and movies only) stopped working UNTIL I disabled Origin in-game (both via the game shortcut in the My Games menu and in the Origin options on the Origin client). Once I disabled that and Fraps, I was able to use RadeonPro for screenshots with my new Reshade preset. My SRWE 2.2 continues to work, however.

Cinematic tool seems to be working fine as well.

Just my own experiences lately.

There WAS an Origin client update recently (two in fact). I wonder if one of those has the Origin in-game feature messing up that kind of thing?

Am having this issue aswell now.

I patched my game to patch 6 - Did a rollback to patch 5..

Now i can not get SRWE to save my screenshots other than default desktop settings.

Ive not updated any Nvidia drivers since it stoped working - So it has got to be something with the patches and rollbacks...

@tklivory Dont actually think that the Origin client update has anything to do with srwe not working, cause i did this update days ago - And my srwe has been working up to this morning, where i did patch game, to roll it back to modded patch 5 (no new mods or anything - Just the ones i used this morning) So basicly it should work for me ....

I've noticed that Origin has a habit of resetting all that stuff on me when it updates, so I have to go back in and uncheck updates and in-game. I wonder if that is what happened for those having issues with RadeonPro.

I wonder if rolling back corrupts the client somehow which causes issues with SRWE. Can anybody on Patch 6 confirm that it works/doesn't work?

Well, it sounds like what happened to me. So yeah, it doesn't look like it's related to the gpu, cause you are on NVIDIA and i'm on ATI. Odd. How could patches mess up with this?

I could go back to patch 6 and check if i can use srwe. Ill come back and confirm again soon!

Edit: Nope, does not work on Patch6 for me - Might be cause ive rolledback ones tho. Not sure.. If i change any it becomes all pixels :/

@heretica Its soooo frustrating, i have been checking some things, but it helps nothing. I will now patch up to 6 again to see if it works :)

Did either of you try to uninstall everything than reinstall from scratch (pull my saves to a separate file uninstall and delete the entire remaining folder contents)?  I am planning on trying this when I get back home from the road and see what that does.  I agree it has to be something that happened with the upgrade to patch 6 or a conflict with a mod.   Thing is i was only running two (a jammy retexture and getting rid of the sideburns) and I don't see how they would have changed an important dll or system file.  I am running sweetfx as a standalone so radeon pro isn't the issue for me.

I have not taken it to this level yet, i may do that tho. Cause now nothing is working!

Mine stoped working within 1hr more or less, thats what it took to download the patch and rollback...So for me it MUST have been the patch6 that messed it up.

My SweetFX works on patch6 tho. And for some reason tho motion blur is back, so will have to remove that in the files again...

Game is acting really odd. Might have to reinstall... Guess we'll just make sure we save patch5 so one can do modding! :P

I've heard folks are having issues with SRWE with Patch 6, but those were examples of flipping back and forth. What about someone who is on Patch 6 and didn't revert?

I'm on patch 6 and have never reverted back to patch 5.  Like i said earlier, I was only running 2 mods (jammy retexture and no sideburns).

Cinematic tools work fine Sweetfx works fine and not using radeon pro.  Only thing that doesn't work for me is SWRE. The last screenshot I was able to use SWRE on was this taken on 3/22/2015 at 2047x1638 resolution.  I believe that is the day before patch 6.  Oh one other thing, I haven't purchased the expansion yet.  Not sure if that matters.

Spoiler

afterwards SWRE was fubared
