Personally, I still feel it's fairly ambiguous.
Did Fen'harel steal Mythal's essence, or did Mythal steal Fen'harel's vessel?
Does it even matter? Are Mythal and Fen'harel now joined into one being with goals and motivations mixed between the two?

The important thing in my opinion is the essence Flemeth is putting inside the mirror when the scene begins
I think that is the soul of Mythal

flemeth probably has horcruxes all over the place
she survived in a locket regardless if you killed her or not in DAO

Yea, it was an ambiguous cliffhanger. I'm not even sure it's DLC material, if they will even make one. I don't think Urthemiel's soul or Morrigan are involved here, because ogb and allowing Morrigan to drink from the well is optional.

I know I'll get flack for this, but I hope that this deals with Flemeth. I'm honestly bored of her character and would much prefer if Solas was the man who came out on top in this scenario. Perhaps she put the Old God's soul from Ciaran into the mirror to stop Fen'Harel from getting his hands on it, at least I'd hope that's what it was because I have to say, if Flemeth shows up in anything else I'll be really disappointed. Obviously I just don't like the popular characters though as I didn't really like Morrigan's character or Leliana's character and I just keep seeing them!

no Urthemiel in my PT, Morrigan is crying for she didn't drink from the well (making her miserable is my hobby, maybe that's because i really despise that char).
Flemeth is my favourite character in DA universe. if she's gone (replaced by Solas in terms of old, all-knowing crature of unknown origin)... well, that sucks ![]()

It would seem they have big plans for Solas, so I'd think more an expansion than a DLC.

Wow. Where is that from exactly? Can we take it as canon?Dev notes for Flemeth from DAI character files:

It is odd though. It appears this "essence of her godhood" is only a part of the spark that survived. That doesn't appear very plausible. I guess the writers can do more or less anything with gods, but it feels like a bad fit.
All that may mean that Morrigan will be in the next game as well, along with Solas.

EBX path: DA3/DesignContent/Characters/Epilogue/epi_flemeth
You will need to use something like EBX Explorer from DAI_Tools to be able to view this.
It's definitely not canon and may change in the future.

Well for the elves to be restored etc, the largest obstacle to that is humanity. Elves are in no position to force an restoration even with an restored Solas/Fen' Harel. Lets not forget Solas is responsible for the events in DA:I either; events that threatened elves as well. Nor can we rule out the Maker, who might have something to say about all of this. Cole says the Maker is currently far away, which leaves the door open for an return as well.
I never trusted Solas perhaphs he is the next villian as well, would'nt suprise me......

It doesn't make any sense to me. Flemthal seemed preeeeettty interested in getting her vengeance on whoever/whatever at the end of Inquisition. But now she knows that Solas will come for essence, does she think she can't keep it from him or does she give it willingly? If she gives it willingly does that mean his presumed goals of restoring the elves* will get vengeance for her anyway? If she wants her god essence to go to Morrigan does that mean the apotheosis spark is separate from Mythal? Cuz she can't give it up to Solas if she wants to give it to Morrigan. Furthermore would Morrigan even accept it? Cuz at least in my game she still seems like she'd rather eat her own fingers. Of course in my game Flemthal is holding her leash so she might not have a choice. But then why would Solas kill her, if that's what it was? Why did she take the kid's OG soul? It certainly didn't seem like it was to fend off Solas. So their goals do align? Probably? Maybe? I dunno. Much confusion has been had this day.
* elves here meaning those petty assclowns in the temple since Solas does not even immediately identify with the current elves when you bring it up. And I mean he doesn't even glorify them like the Dalish does he mentions they had slaves and lower castes and everything why would he want to restore them? I'm pretty sure he even has a dialogue with Dorian about he (Dorian) needs to stop glorifying the ancient elves.

Hawklyn Starblade (Sorry Quoting doesn't work on my office PC): I really don't think Solas is a villain at all. Even Abelas states that the history regarding him is incorrect. What he did, he apparently did to protect the people, not realising the abysmal consequences it would have. For some reason (and I'm likely wrong) the one I really distrust is Mythal. She had a pool set aside for people to drink from and be bound to her Will and that is...not good! Maybe that's just me as I'm tired of Flemeth and Morrigan as characters (actually never really liked them) and personally liked Solas's character. We'll see how things play out, though as my opinions on characters are not the popular ones, I'll likely have to deal with them and Leliana again!
Would enjoy learning more about the ancient elves however as in DAI we've now seen elven ruins beneath ground again, just as you did in the Dalish Elf origin story. Clearly there is a lot we don't know about them and they were once one of the most, if not the most, powerful race in Thedas.

If his emphasis is on restoring/creating a world where magic is as natural as breathing and maybe even weakening the spirit/human divide THAT I could understand, if it's restoring his 'people' to their old ways... that I wouldn't get.

He doesn't want to restore them to their "old ways". It's clear in convos with him that many of the "old ways" of their society were not as great as they imagine them to be. What he did- out of rebellion, apparently - was originally done before his slumber to save the elven from what he felt would lead to their downfall, and I'm guessing a gross abuse of power. I think the former you mentioned just happens to be one of those things his goal ultimately aspires for.

No it's not Solas Left clues. After every major event he would add a pointing to his mural at the keep. He make one last one in the end that's unfinished...

It always ends with the dread wolf slaying Mythral.

That looks an awful lot like the inquisitor gaining their dragon ally. Unless it's meant to be ambiguous whether it's a wolf or a dragon.

I'm confused about his original plan too. Was he trying to have Corypheus power up the orb because he couldn't? Then he is a lot weaker than I originally believed. Some things that still bug me.
1)Solas said that the Inquisitor could not close the breach in the sky at the beginning because it lacked power.
2)When haven was attacked, Corypheus said he could not remove the mark from the Inquisitor.
So was Solas waiting for the Divine to be sacrificed and taking the orb then? Was taking the Divine's life what the orb needed to power up? Why couldn't he do it himself? If the Inquisitor now had the orb's power why not use the Inquisitor to further his plan instead if he/she is now the orb incarnate?
And of course, what was Solas' ultimate goal? To wake the sealed elen gods? To cross into the fade and steal their power like how he stole Mythal's? Why didn't he just nuture his power like Flemeth did for a few hundred years? Why is he, an immortal, in such a hurry?
Would I pay DLC to have some answers to some of those questions? absolutely.

He need power to work the orb added there is some reason the divine is needed.
