This game promotes animal abuse. BioWare, please fix or I'm calling PETA or other hippies.

I just find that really really hard to believe. They must have not used the firestorm at all, or just not used it on stages with dogs. I just dont take any chances with it - because there is NOTHING, literally nothing that annoys me more in this game than having the key glitch bug on stage four in a pug.

Well, not entirely true. I have ragequit games just because people just pass freebie doors only they can open, just to run halfway across the map to get kills. It's such a bloody timewaster. That is my number two nuisance.

As hard as you find it to believe it's true. Pretty much since the event started on friday i have had the key drop bug happen zero times and i have played alot of games with ele's. They have used firestorm.. i remember one guy using it pretty much everytime the cool down reset by the amount of meteors that were flying over the place.

And your number 2 nuisance is my number one greatest hate in this game. it annoys me to no end. like fair enough go get all the kills to enlarge your epeen but first can you open the locked door only you can open before you run off.

Quite a thick layer of sarcasm here. You are a comedian for sure.

Why thank you.

On a serious note, I've also had quite a few games with Elementalists who used Firestorm on everything in sight (including packs of dogs) with no issues too. I usually take the risk because I'm never the host.

You are correct. It definitely isn't a certainty to happen.  Here is a good example of 2 Elementalists using firestorm at the end of the wave with dogs.  No key issues.  They did this the entire game without any problems. I see it quite regularly without incident.

Then, my obvious question to both of you: which platform are you playing on. The clip is obviously from xbox - but what about you?

I'm on PC - and the key drop glitch happened so often to me for a while I almost just quit the game. It always seemed to happen once you got a lot of AOE knockaround from spells like firestorm. It used to happen like every third game or something, until I avoided elementalist. After that - rarely happens. So I'm just gonna keep doing that until it is confirmed fixed by BioWare, no matter how much people defend firestorm. It might really be a platform issue.

I also testet this myself. I have done many many solo runs with all kinds of skills. Once I tried a few runs with Ele to farm a couple of firedamage kills to just complete it - I had four runs where two of them had the key glitch. And that had never happened on any solo run before and I've probably done like between 100-150 runs. I dont need to know more than that.

So go ahead, play elementalist. I just wont play with you.

I'm on xbox one also. It could be more of a platform thing. Like i don't doubt your experiences, just saying that me personally i've never really had the issue with ele's moreso than any other class.

There should be a kill challenge for Mabari. When you hit 10,000 kills Sarah Mclachlan starts playing in the background.

I play on the xbox one.  I have noticed that it occurs more frequently in laggy games.  I have noticed it happen with a multitude of varied party members.  I could see the cause being pull of the abyss glitch that flings enemies once it expires, mighty blow, firestorm, general terrible pathing by the animals in the game, etc.

The fact that the animals don't seem to have restrictions from walking through many of the physical set pieces that standard enemies have to navigate seems to be one of the main contributing factors.  Case in point this druffalo could care less about the railing I am standing on here:  http://xboxclips.com...59-e0895733f767

I would imagine once they fix the pathing of the creatures this issue will likely cease or be greatly lessened.  Let's hope soon.

To be clear, I also run a no firestorm build on my Ele, but that is more out of the fact that I found my other build to be better for my playstyle than the concerns over the glitch.

They should replace all the dogs with lawyers or have a Michael Vick class.

(The above was a joke, perhaps in poor taste, the poster is a dog lover who has a wonderful Yellow Lab.)

So...What you're saying is we should kick Alchemists on sight too? Got it!!!

My Alchemist disapproves.

In protest, she will be launching Mines at everything that moves until she is accepted back into PuGs.

I play on the xbox one.  I have noticed that it occurs more frequently in laggy games.

Then I am more convinced that this is a specific PC or other platforms-issue and not something that is prevalent at the same degree on f.ex. xbox one.

Lagging does not factor into it. I have very little lag in most games, and lag does not at all explain why I have a 50% no key drop rate while soloing with the Ele, and i have 100% completion rate on about 150 other solo games with every other class. I have never had the key drop happening to me while soloing on any other class than Ele.

The evidence is quite clear to me. And I am pretty sure it cant only be me, as many I know that play this game on PC more than a regular gamer would - say exactly the same thing.

I personally like to believe when the host leaves and everyone else migrates that the level doesn't ever end and the damn dog is left there to rot in eternal pain for all eternity with a 2 foot long key shoved up his arse

If I was BW I would plant a PETA forumer in this thread shaming us for making light of the incredibly serious topic of animal abuse.

Because you know, nothing kills the fun like someone who takes themselves to seriously -.-

Wish we could have South Park rules on this forum

why are we even killing animals at all? keys should drop when all human/demons are dead so you can choose to kill the animals or let them roam free, so as no to tame their natural aggression!

in single player things like broncos don't aggro on sight and bears/giants only aggro if you are right in their faces.

darn it bw, stop making us murderers.

Yep, you'd think that as a 'neutral' (my ass) force animals shouldn't even be considered as keyholders, just like Revenants or Arcane Horrors.

My god, I am just coming from the "Littering in DAI" thread over in the SP section and it turns out this game is getting worse by the minute. I think I'm going to stop playing DAI. Maybe I'll get Far Cry 4 instead.

Notice how the Druffalo got a kill streak 2 for head butting him to death?

what i don't get is when you see a group of enemies attacking an animal and close in, why they stop fighting and all rush at you. why do the animals hate your guts the most when the local enemies started it?

or are all humanoids the same and should all die? bit prejudiced on the animals side huh.

The whimpering noise that the dogs make when you kill them is actually disturbing.

Do you want them to neigh like a horse?

Why are dogs being trusted with keys in the first place? Where do they store them?

I think we all know where they store keys on(in) dogs...

I'm talking about the situation when the key doesn't drop, the party starts to roam the area and notices a single dog, standing there dead yet still somehow alive.

"Over here!", shouts one man or woman. The group then gathers around the poor animal and starts beating **** out of it with everything they have - weapons, brutal spells and abilities - and listens to the pathetic squeals and squeaks of the poor thing. This torrent of violence, fueled by swear words shouted by some players* when they try to maul the dog with their swords, axes, maces and magic, goes on for several minutes straight, during which the animal is frequently

  • slammed to the ground
  • electrocuted
  • burned
  • poisoned
  • knocked out of conciousness
etc. Then, all of a sudden, the group leaves one-by-one, leaving the mutilated (but still alive) dog. There was no point of this violence. No bigger goal. Or was there? Could it be that this horrid animal abuse was the goal of the game? That this 'glitch' is no glitch at all? That you put stuff in the game actually fulfill your twisted fantasies, which in any civilized state is shameful and illegal?

BioWare, English is the wrong language to express my anger right now, so please translate this post into German and shout out every word - then you'll maybe get a glimpse of my feelings right now. If the current state of affairs prevails a week from now, then I get in contact with non-gov organisations that will expose this sick 'bug'.

* some don't swear loudly while doing it, but I know I do.
Was in a pug last night, key didn't drop. I go over to my pug team who are hacking and slashing away at a dog who's just stood there laughing. I fade cloak on top of him and the explosion kills it and the key drops :D

You ARA's I swear are out of your gourd. There's a man in the game who clearly suffers from steroid abuse (RTC in case you didn't recognize the signs) but you got your panties all up in knots over a flea-carrier.
