Can't really see Sera or Vivienne in Slytherin tbh. Sera would probably be in Gryffindor and Vivienne would be a Ravenclaw, so would Josephine, those two are SMART.

I approve. Sera gets angry when the little people are hurt by nobles. That's a rather knightly quality in my eyes.

I blame poor writing on that. *completely serious*

Cat gets a free point.

Peter Pettigrew.

That's the ONE guy.

You are the first person I see putting Leliana in Gryffindor. May I ask why? :)

I went back and forth with her, but I think that bravery is a key trait for Gryffindor and Leliana puts herself front and center in major conflicts and she has a strong moral compass which guides her.

She's a tough one though.  I could see her in Ravenclaw (she's very clever).  I could see a hardened Leliana in Slytherin (she's ruthless).  I might even be able to see an argument for her in Hufflepuff, particularly if she's 'softened' (she's a hard working, loyal, cheerful friend).

I ended up saying Gryffindor for the reasons above, but I'm not totally sold on it.

Agreed, and tbh it's annoy me how many people see the world, and other people as 2 dimensional black-and white depiction. The world is grey, and full of shades and colors, and people are not that simple to categorize.

In the case of the Potterverse, it could be related to how J.K. Rowling handled the houses. Slytherin is mostly the 'pureblood' hub and has been such since its inception. That philosophy comes from the founder. If it had been portrayed as having forgotten its roots and become morally decayed over time it would have been better.

It's easy to depict ambition as evil, but it's 'a strong desire for success'. It doesn't have to be selfish. If Slytherin had been the house of people who think 'big picture', who want to change and shape the world, the 'movers and shakers', I would have liked it better. You can easily get both awful villains, great heroes and everything in between there.

Anders I don't see as Slythrine since he regrets his actions doesn't do it for power or ambition, as Harry killed people during the war with Voldemort so does Anders in away kill people to give people a chance to fight. I would clasfiy him more as the Sruis Black of the group of friends. I would point out he was put in Gryffindor for this reason by me.

You're right, Anders didn't do it for his own power or ambition, and he did it to give mages a chance to fight (from his perspective), but he doesn't give a single **** about blow the Chantry, kill Grand Cleric Elthina and who know how many people that reside or nearby the Chantry in the process. He doesn't regret dragging every mages into a war with the Templars willing or unwilling. He also deceives and used Hawke to serve his own agenda (in case you help him). He was all about mage's freedom by then. Anders only express his regret only when he's rival with Hawke, he's the opposite if you're friend with him.

It just my observation anyway.

Which is quite a twist. Before, I always imagine that "friendship" path is always better. Anders made me change my mind.

I put him in Slytherin because of his elitist attitude towards mages. He never once thinks how his actions affect non mages, nor does he care, he does everything he does for the sole benefit of mages.

He doesn't care about slavery (Fenris) or poverty, or the suffering of say, city elves. The only injustice he sees is injustice to mages.

Regarding Leliana, she is definitely a ravenclaw:

• Intelligence
• Wit
• Wisdom
• Creativity
• Originality
• Individuality
• Acceptance

Thats a bit of morality angle and the sorting hat doesn't really care. There have been evil and good people from all houses.

Gryffindor virtues are:

• Bravery
• Nerve
• Chivalry
• Courage
• Daring

All of which apply to Anders, it doesn't matter what he used these virtues for, he had them thus Gryffindor. Anders definitely did not have Traditionalism, Self-Preservation, Fraternity or desire for power. That's slytherin

As Cerulion has pointed out it's the Hissrad thing. Ben-Hassrath, cunning, shrewd, deceitful, spy, strong leader (lead the Bull's Chargers, and look after their own people).

Just my observation, please don't hate me. XD

Virtues alone don't decide the placement though. Snape has all of those qualities too, he's still a Slytherin. Pettigrew  has hardly any of those traits, and yet he's a Gryffindor .

Yeah, the hat also cares about what you want. But again you forget that Snape has a lot of Slytherin in him thus he could be in Gryyffindor but he isn't. Anders has none of Slytherin virtues, like not even a single one. Pettigrew was just a coward who put his own above everyone else, which is the truest of all Slytherin virtues. He might have some Gryffindor qualities. Again he is evil from Gryffindor which was my point. Even if you view Anders as evil he belongs in Gryffindor.

I wonder tho, did he develop all those traits after sorted to Slytherin or did all these traits already there since the beginning?

Snape's arc & character dev were not developed until late book 7, in which IMO most of his real character only revealed after him going to Dumbledore to ask for Lily to be saved.

What about the other way around? To which fraternity would the Harry Potter wizards belong?

Dumbledore-Libertarian turned Aequitarian or Loyalist.

Slughorn-Lucrosian.
