I enjoyed them all, myself.

I think a lot of this has to do with whether you play on console or PC. I can imagine Origins being awesome on a PC, but playing it on a console... not so much, in regard to combat. After I adapted to the system, however, it wasn't so bad. I found it to be much more challenging than DA:2 and Inquisition. Inquisition was just too easy... I swear fighting bears in the Hinterlands is more challenging than the final battle with Corypheus.

I like all 3 of them, but If i had to pick one, I'd say DAI , with DA2 coming extremely close.

I'd actually go so far as to say the split in my mind is near-identical to the current split in votes. Origins is still the best by a considerable margin, but Inquisition is over twice as good as 2.

Overall my rank would be based on fun/replay value:

1. DA2

2. DA:I

3. DA:O

I realize this puts me in the minority but I had some major issues with DA:O. While it provided a great story, diverse dialogue, and an interesting world; it also had horrible, horrible gameplay. A lot of people liked it but I hated it. It was also the shortest at about 50 hours if I was lucky.

DA2's story was weaker yet had similar strong banter. It was hurt by repeated settings. However, almost every moment of the roughly 60 hour campaign was fun; probably having the best gameplay of the series for me.

DA:I had the least role-playing which hurt it greatly. This was offset somewhat by a near 100 hour campaign (without any DLCs), yet it must be said that it could be boring often enough. Ex: Wandering around the Hissing Wastes, collecting shards, planting flowers on graves, etc. The reality of requiring much "trekking" to get to your objective made the game's length something of a facade. Side-quests were overall tedious as well.

DA2 is certainly my favorite.  It had its flaws, to be sure, and I wish they'd had the budget and time to invest in it, but DA:I shows that budget and time don't necessarily make for a great game.

DA2 and DA:I are tied for me I think.... which makes feel absolutely terrible because I lvoe Origins. XD

But I only really got attatched to one playthrough character with Origins, which I think killed some of the replay value for me. After that playthrough was complete, it became my canon and then... other PCs just felt wrong I guess, could never complete the game with any of them. XD DA2 was a great experience, because my expectations were abysmal and it surprised me with a great story, a lot of gray morality, which was great fun, fun combat, and ultimately I enjoyed rolling three mains for that one. Also, great DLC, Legacy was fantastic. I probably enjoyed DA2 the most, but I acknowlege this is probably due to the (really) low expecations I had going in. It had a lot of flaws.

So does Inquisition, but I wound up voting for it. Partly out of pity cause it's so terribly behind the other two, here (;D), and because Bioware did try to inovate a lot with what we were given, even if they weren't always successful and got in a little over their heads, I think. I respect that, though. It was a good attempt. Not the best in the world, but good. Still! Great cast of characters, good story, love my Lavellan, rolled several palythroughs through to completion, and I absolutely adore the art direction.

Origins wins hands down. No contest.

Then followed by DA2. Inquisition comes somewhere behind.

Doing a trilogy run as we speak, just fired up DA:I last night and I gotta say, DA2 is starting to make it's way to the top of my list. Once you look past some of issues facing it (same environments, Orsino's sudden turn, rushed release) it's a pretty enjoyable experience. I will always hold a place for my sarcastic, charming, witty, Isabelle loving Hawke.

Origins is just a great all around game. Character interactions, choices, and the story itself were amazeballs. Inquisition is great too, but the more I play it right now, the more I'm starting to feel it falls short of the previous two. Amazing presentation, but it lacks the substance of Origins and the soul of 2, IMO.

DA2. It has purple Garrett Hawke and that's all I need for the rest of my days.

Then DAI, because lovely characters (Sera  <3 ) but too much fetching.

And then DAO. It has Alistair and Morrigan which is a huge plus, but the gameplay is too dull and slow for me. Warden has no voice which is sad, and also, Fade? Deep Roads? Nah thanks.

Dragon Age Origins for me too. It has the best pacing and, more importantly (to me, at least), the epic moments keep getting bigger and bigger, with the stakes becoming higher and higher, and you finally reach the climax which is just glorious, mostly because you see your efforts and decisions paying off in an awesome way. Though DAI does that too, more or less, the pacing isn't that smooth and the ending feels rather weak compared to Origins.

Dragon Age II is on another category because it's, for a lack of better phrasing, a different kind of story: a hero's struggles attempting to stem an inevitable war and failing. Quite tragic, quite poetic in some ways, but still different.

Origins for purely nostalgic reasons.  It was the first Bioware game I played, and as such its hard to replicate that experience.  That said, given the amount of time I've invested in Inquisition, I think it might be an objectively better game (it was certainly the first time I enjoyed playing a warrior class).  They each have their strengths. DA:O probably had the best pacing, and if I had to pick any one dungeon from any of the games I would probably take it from that game. DA:2 had my favorite antagonist and my preferred AI set up for companion tactics.  DA:I had my favorite overall cast, companion interactions, and player-controlled combat mechanics.  But since we are picking one, it would be Origins, mostly because it was the first.

Not sure what the poll is asking about in terms of "best". I cannot choose.

Combat, gameplay - DA:O

Characters, party interaction - DA:I

I'm sure those are all great games, but DA:O was the first I played, even before I played Mass Effect.  I was late to Bioware party.

DAO, Inquistion takes too long (and I dislike I have to do stuff to get specs. It's annoying. I wish I could just get a spec and be done with it.) DA2.... Hmm, no. I've played it, but I really have no feeling towards Hawke, I scarficed my Alive Anders-mance for Makers sake! And for a Warden Alistair.... I could never kill him, he's too... GJGBJCKSHSK about my warden to kill him ever.

For me, DA2 wins out. It's the one I have replayed the most. Just pure fun, and I am in love with the unconventional story structure. Not a perfect game, but none of them are.
