My first Nightmare mode dragon hunt and well... I was prepared for a very long fight. I guess was wrong.

Is it really that powerful or just bugged? Sorry for this pointless thread, but I'm a bit shocked.

Nah its just right as it offset by assassins terrible focus ability. Mark also does not do anything on its own, its mark +what you can do that determine its effectiveness. So please just let it be.

Well, it has to bee that powerful to compensate for the lack of a decent focus ability.

If you're using T3 gear, MoD, MotR, there won't be any long fights in the game for you.

Sadly this game is so poorly balanced it can get in the way of enjoying the game unless easy god mode is your thing.

That is not even remotely close to a valid argument for such overpower.

1. Assassins have access to Mark of the Rift and any focus abilities of companions. If anything it is an advantage to free up a skill point in the build.

2. Mark of Death cool down time: 32 seconds. Focus cool down time: loads more (unless exploiting Tempest bug).

Self-contradicting. What does a class who can quickly solo anything in the game have to be compensated for exactly?

Doing your first dragon hunt at level 22 is bound to make the experience a little underwhelming.  Once you're all maxed out in top tier gear you can solo dragons faster than that.

Also, you were level 21. I don't think developers expected us to wait so much to haunt dragons (I started at level 14 on normal... which I changed to hard around level 17, I'll probably start on level 15 or 16 in my current nightmare PT).

Edit: I was writing while the previous post was being made. So yes, the level is relevant.

The skill on its own is balanced. Its other skills that are unbalanced, and this doubles them

It's not bugged :P

Not nearly as powerful solo as it is in group, though, if you care about that kind of thing.

Try it with Dorian's focus ablility.

1.Hit the dragon with Mark of Death.

2. Activate Dorian's focus ability: Haste.

3. Activate everything on everyone's action bar (I usually use all party members focus ability for spectacular light show)

4. Mark of death will wait patiently for you, thanks to Haste.

5. Activate the mark whenever to see 100,000 damage on screen. (Damage number may vary with party composition)

if it was easy it was cause of ur build & gear, mark of death helps a bit, but it wont make u OP

Tempest i suggest balanced stats, Dex damage & crit damage bonus & defense, cun crit chance, only cun always crit but crit damage so low that its pointless, to much Dex low crit chance but higher damage, that's why i like assassin, for assassin it enough if u take only Dex well u know that cause ur dragon fight was easy, well archer needs bit cun to even if its assassin also if u have spare points take dagger skill to get 2 passives, to give little boost to crit chance, to ur own char who is archer, dagger rouge assassin easiest to build, less thinking to :)

You should enable in the option the abilty to see all damage being delt It showed you are a level 21 and yeah you use cold abilty but that was a bit to quick for nightmare. It would been nice to see the damge you delt because that dragon should have around 40-50k health if you did 15k then double with the mark dealth it would be wounded badly but not auto death.

Well, Mark of Death is the only way that the Assassin tree can keep up with the potential damage output of the Tempest tree's thousand cuts.

Unless you cheesed your way into tier3 Masterwork weapons/armor early in your playthrough, and/or outleveled all the challenging content, most of the game feels appropriately difficult on Nightmare.  Once you get high level and are rocking all the best gear you're supposed to be godlike, but that's only supposed to be a small portion of the end of the game.

Most who play these games look up where to find all the best stuff and what the most powerful skill combinations are online, and that's fine but they shouldn't complain.
