and if the same fade-touched items has two versions (like say phoenix scales) is it 50/50 for that?

I think it's about 2% or 5%, somewhere around there.
And for ones that have multiple, I'd assume it's an even chance to obtain any of the variations.

It should be noted that some of them are in predetermined locations. Additionally, I've noticed that once you have managed to find a certain fade-touched item, it becomes harder to find the same item a second time.

yeah, though the pre-determined fade touch items are often in lootable crates, rather than just mining a resource.

As for having troubles finding the same fade touched item again, I haven't noticed that, hrmmm. I may have to look into that more.

I have a number of multiple, identical fade touched items.  As for drop rate, I would rate it as sufficient to their purpose unless you are looking for a particular item. Then it is frustrating. LOL.
