Best Romance for a Male Inquisitor?

I've tried searching this, but I keep getting sites just explaining the romances to me. I had a few questions:

1) I made a male to romance Cassandra, but I don't know -- she was approving everything I did until I recruited the mages as allies. I got a "Greatly Disapproves." I don't know how that's going to effect my ability to romance her. Will it?

2) Who is the best romance for males? I like Cassandra's attitude -- really! I thought about Josephine, but I heard she has no sex scene (I'm a perv), and she takes forever to get warmed up to you. Iron Bull... Horns do nothing for me, but is it at least funny? Dorian seems smarmy and arrogant, but adorable as well. I don't know which one would have a mushy (which I love) romance like Cullen (he was my first play through, and i actually teared up a bit at the end).

3) What are the deal breakers with them? I hate romancing someone and having them dump me! I kind of inferred the lyrium thing would be a deal breaker with Cullen (You can't handle it? Then just take the blue crack again! Yeah, that seems like it wouldn't fly.)

I'm sorry if this is posted in the incorrect area, and if I am asking something already answered.

Thanks!

Cassandra hands down.

1) No it won't it's just a net loss of 3 points. 3 slightly aproves will counter this, 2 approves will beat ti out.

2) Cass is the best. She wants to be romanced. Seriously. Iron bull's can be funny but it was underwhelming over all. Dorian is okay.

3) the deal breaker with cass is telling her you won't go through the romance. [that's pretty much it]

I've only romanced Dorian and Bull so far, so I can't speak to Cassandra or Josephine.

I loved Dorian's romance.  He's such an interesting and engaging character and the romance allows you to explore that content a bit more.  It's actually a pretty sweet and romantic story if you pursue a serious relationship with him.  Plus, he has a nude scene.  ;)

Bull was a little disappointing to me.  He was fun, but it never had the emotional connection that Dorian did.  Plus, it delves into BDSM, which isn't for everyone.  And he is very limited in the ways in which he will be in the romance (i.e. he only tops and never bottoms; he's only the dom and never the sub).  It was fine but not the best.

If you are doing m/m, I'd go with Dorian, hands down.

1) Greatly disapproves should not kill romances (unless you're somehow racking them up like crazy). I've banished the Grey Wardens and still kept the Blackwall romance going just fine.

2) Dorian and Cassandra should fit the mushy romance requirement. I agree with daveliam in regards to Iron Bull. He's fun and unconventional, but limited in scope.

3) I don't think there are any deal breakers. I've seen Gaider say there isn't one specific action that will make them up and leave you. It's probably an accumulation of disapprovals. I watched a youtube video where a mage romanced Cullen, told him to keep taking the lyrium, that he could wean himself off when the Inquisition was finished with Corypheus, and the romance continued just fine. She was even able to mention something about it at the victory party, iirc.

Wait, Josephine has no sex scenes?

Oh well, chaste chivalrous love FTW!

Iron Bull's is both funny and sweet, my favorite out of the ones I've tried so far (Blackwall, Solas, Cassandra, Dorian, Josephine and Bull)

Well only speaking of man -man romance I would say Dorian is nice, funny and talkative plus he is the sub of the romance.  Contrary Bull romance is more... short speaks and he tops you...   So I chose Dorian.

I romanced Josie in my 1st playthrough and Cass at second and I liked much more the dialogues and progression with Josie and thats why in my 3rd playthrough I am romancing Josie again because I think it was more well done the dialogues and scenes and I love her voice too. I like Cass but Josie is better :).
About approval with Cass, just make her quests with her present in party and treat her well and I think it wont be a problem a few negatives that you might get from mages and some other stuff that I won't spoil it. Gl.

I would avoid reading too much into various players' opinions on the matter. Just because they think someone is the best doesn't mean you will also.

The Josephine romance is basically the "Disney princess" version. It's a lot of fluff and adorableness with some drama thrown in.
But...

Spoiler

Also, regarding Dorian and Cassandra...
Spoiler

I wouldn't worry too much about disapproval. There are plenty of opportunities to earn it back. Just be a decent person to most of them and you'll be fine.

Dorian has some... issues regarding relationships. If you like him as a character without the romance, I do suggest you give it a try if you want to go deeper into his character.

CASSANDRA  <3  <3  <3 - best straight option(you can gain her approval back by doing her quest "unfinished business" you need to kill groups on 5 different location and when you kill each group she will "greatly approve" + "approve" so count 5 + "greatly approves" + "approves" is more then set you go,in fact just killing 2 groups is more then enough to have approval for romance)

DORIAN  - best gay romance that's for sure.(go with Bull if you are into BDSM)

Lol... I don't feel that he comes across as a "bottom" during the romance, but that is just my perspective. You can certainly interpret in any way that you wish. He and my Trev Inquisitor take turns ;).

when you had pleasure to grow up with YAOI fangril sister with who you saw lot of YAOI yourself...I think then you pick up how Seme/Top and Uke/Bottom work.

"Will you Inquisit me again?...I will be more specific with my directions this time"...is bottom for sure  :)(though I prefer to think this is not case with elf...because weird as Varric once said to Fenris  :?)

LOL yaoi and seme/uke is not something new to me. I still have the same opinion.

At any rate, not going to clutter this thread with Dorian sex talk. Head to the actual Dorian thread if you want to discuss it with all the rest of his fans.
