Having same issue with Mass Effect 2 and 1, have any of you looked at the event viewer to see if the crash error is being listed under applications? Use the event ID in a google search and see if it brings up any suggestions, if not I would put in a bug report to Bioware and Ea with all the event and if any windows crash information attached. I will be doing that as well as sitting on hold for EA support to see what the deal is

How do I file a bug report?

So I was able to play for several hours the first time, before I encountered this crash.
Now it happens the moment I start ME2.
I can't start ANY 3d game now without my computer crashing.
Has ME2 fried my graphics card? Is there a fix?
This is exactly my problem.

I just want to know they are working on it, so I can sit back relax, and know atleast that a fix is coming. Now for all I know. Bioware is just ignoring the problem and just roll around on cash.
I would also like to know how I could get this patch once it comes out. Through this social network like with Dragon age?

Oh shoot, my graphic card is behaving weirdly now too. The moniter just blacked out for a minute or so, and just came back. It never happened until I started playing ME2.
same **** happened to me dude. Im actually having to RMA my video card now cause i think its fuked now, keeps crashing and artifacting even wen im not gaming. I srsly hope this wasnt caused by ME2 cause i refuse to believe a video game can break ur computer.

I can only get about 1 hour of gameplay tops, then it either starts crashing or my whole computer just shuts down. Definitely an overheat problem, but I refuse to see how Mass Effect 2 could possibly be more taxing on my system then Crisis on high.
I suggest you stop playing ME2 immidiately.
I can no longer play ANY games that require DirectX rendering. I've been looking through error logs in hopes of finding the culplrit, and while heat is not excluded - irreversable dmg to the GPU is likely at this point. A few even more tech savy friends suggest that the issue has something to do with the driver not working properly with Windows and that the fault is on the DirectX side of the files. Reinstalling DirectX is inherently difficult.
My friends who have experienced simmilar problems suggested a full Windows reinstall.

It would appear some of us have lost GPUs to this game.

Hopefully someone from EA and Bioware will come around and show that they care about people that buy the game legally.
Sadly most DEVs put way more thought and care into the people who illegally download it.

I had the same Error logs after about 5h playtime. The display went colourful and the pc crashed. I reinstalled the game and I was able to play about 5h before my pc crashed again, but without the Error Logs :/
So I reinstalled the game again and I'm waiting for the next crash now.
But I have no problems with other games, no video errors or clues of a overheated video card...
I hope a graphic fix is coming soon, I don't want to reinstall the game again and again :/

Doesn't appear to be overheating issues
I can play forever as long as I don't start a conversation or cutscene..
Every conversation I have has about a 65% chance of locking the system up, driver crashes, and have to hard reboot the system..
Tried with multiple driver versions, fresh install of windows, multiple installs of ME2.
Starting to get really frustrated. The game worked fine until I got to a specific point. Then all the problems started.
