Go back literally on the page before you posted and there are examples of facing the viewer, lol.

I can't get real up close with out the FoV changing and making the camera invert and turn upside down

To avoid the camera inverting, go to the misc tab in the Cinematic Tools and change the FOV to anything higher than 0 (~50 is roughly the same as the normal in-game fov). Then you'll be able to use the usual hotkeys/controls to change fov without the inversion. Once you're done, change it back to -1, which overrides any personal settings and uses whatever is specified by the game for any given scene.

For trying to zoom in on a face, I try to get close and then I just hold page down until the picture starts making sense ![]()
I missed the bit about settings earlier. Fade-Touched textures with HBAO-Full is what I use, but I realize why my AA was weird so hopefully that's not a problem in the future.

May I ask what settings you were using for AA that were "weird?" Just out of curiosity.

I had post-processing AA on high, which as far as I can tell is supposed to be "cheaper" than regular AA but not as good.

Ah, I actually didn't notice a difference with it on or off. I use the following:
In-Game - 4X MSAA
RadeonPro - SMAA
NVIDIA Driver Enhance Application Settings - 4x AA and 4x Supersample AA Transparency (not sure if these actually do anything)

Oh do you use fraps for your screenies? I've never tried it, partially because I'm a cheapskate and don't want to pay for it. ![]()
I use Shadowplay for when I want to take in-game vids. It has a nice little indicator light so I know when it's running.

I use fraps when I am taking normal screening but I have found that when I try to use it with SWRE they don't seem to get along on my PC. I still use fraps to record vids however. What format(s) does shadowplay record in?

Yeah, but to be fair I paid mostly for the video capabilities. I used to fraps stuff for MMO guilds occasionally. I don't mind supporting something I use that much. ![]()
Fraps has this really obvious thing that it's running, but honestly I guess my PC restarted in the middle of the night and I played before coffee and ... well ... =/
@uncleanspirit: I'm honestly just too lazy to add SRWE to the mix, though the results are amazing when people do.

I've only ever used Shadowplay to record, but I really like it. It doesn't dip into my fps at all, something which I've heard fraps can really hammer into. It records in .mp4 format and can record in high quality 60fps.

The Fine Art of Surfacing
*
I adore this. I love it when things like that happen. This was one of my favourite Skyrim screenshots - I clipped through the wall behind some glowing mushrooms, so it looked like they were a fleet of jellyfish swimming forward. Weird and creative shots like that are always my favourite. I'm yet to do anything like that in DAI, but perhaps inverting the camera would give more opportunity.

A few more from me. I'm trying to do more scenic shots, which for some reason are out of my comfort zone in this game. I've had no problem in something like Skyrim, but there just doesn't seem to be the same little moments of magic in the landscape in DA:I's Thedas as there are in and around the regions of Skyrim. I'm trying to push myself to take them though. I enjoyed taking a bunch in Val Royeaux, but there was a lot to guide the eye so it was easier. I've always felt more at home with tighter, more intimate shots (be it of people or objects), so the wide open vistas with few interesting landmarks pose a challenge.
And one of Sera because she's absolutely fab:

Oh, looking back it seems I only posted a couple of my VR shots. Here are a few more:
I really like the SFX settings I've made for Val Royeaux. I'm tweaking per region now, and trying to remember to keep a backup of each config for each area so I don't lose those settings I like!
