Yeah, among other things they basically seem to be including CEP, the PRC, and overrides for the PRC.  Plus a lot of models/tiles of their own.  I suppose they figure that it makes it a "one stop" file for people to download rather than having to find half a dozen different downloads.

I have CEP and PRC already so I guess that's fine. If I could suggest though, please separate the haks.

Hey guys, the server will be down for computer maintenance until Saturday the 14th. It went down on the 12th, apologies for the delay. Nwn is the toughest game to host that I have come across.

Aright server is back up and running:
If it's not in your history, it should be 67.5.233.3:5121

Icywind, I wil talk to Mark and see what we can do about breaking out the downloads and seperating the PRC, CEP and HAK's. I know that he has his hands full getting the server back up as NWN is a pain to run as a server and there may be a limit on the size of downloads that can be stored on the website. I do agree that it is a huge file and would be nice to have it broken down for ease of download.

I also have a couple ideas to make the website more useful to all players. I am currently looking for a detailed map of the area that Cormyrean Prophecies encompasses to scan and load to the website. Ideally the map would include some of the areas that are popular and the the main attractions (Haunted Halls, Ruins of Ponar, Regnars Lair, Maze of Madness, Mages Keep, Fire Giant's Castle and the Enterance to the Underdark). Maybe even some of the Special Monsters like Wolf and Devistation Spiders, Harpies, "The Widow", etc. and helpful hints for newbies on how to find, fight and defeat the beasties.

I am currently working on slimming down Suzail as it is causing alot of bloat on the server. Ideally I will be able to shrink it down to 2 areas and move some of the shops to the Market Area. Once that is complete, I will work on building more areas so that you can delve deeper and go on longer runs and go through the over 500 rarely used areas and try to make them more useful and not just "run through" locations. CP is a huge world with over 750 areas to explore and with some work they will all be areas that you will want to spend time in...

Good luck Mark and thanks for all of your hard work getting it up and running again.

I love the ideas for the website, Johnny.  I am one of the older players and am well aware that there are areas I am either very unfamiliar with or even never traveled to.  A map and hints would be awesome.  Condensing areas, especially cities and needlessly long paths/roads, sounds spectacular too.

Looking forward to any and all changes you guys try.  Its an adventure now to "re-explore" CP and not knowing what might be around the next corner will only make it more exciting again!

Thanks for looking into breaking up the hak into smaller ones.

I think the best way to make a map for a server is to travel it from start to finish and record all movements (Area transitions, points of interest, doors, traps etc) on a piece of graph paper. Each area should be one sheet and you can tape them all together as one area transitions into another. Once completed, you can transition the document into a drawing application or maybe even excel. At one point, we had a document nearly 30 sheets of graph paper across on our dining room table xD That was quite a project!

Looking forward to trying out the mod once it's back up.

For making maps I play in 800x600 resolution and take a screenshot of the area with my mini map open after I'm done exploring it. Later, I cut-n-paste only the mini map portion into a paint program, applying each in its order and then adding any notes onto the images.

So the current IP for Natfka is at 67.5.194.37:5121  ?

Just double checking, I was trying to relist it into my shortcut but am not finding it.  Is it down for more maintenance?

That is a million times better than what I suggested! Do this instead XD

Note for low level characters: gdi goblins, spider dens (tyrluk), dragonmere coast (suzail), elf lands (everyone can go here now via gdi), and Mage keep (suzail) have all been modified to give a little better Xp.
Also, feel free to invite people and private chat people you don't know. This is a friendly server, and a lot of runs will require 2-4 people.

I added an epic fire merchant at fireguard keep who will sell you +6 gear after you kill the dragon. 3 -4 level 25s should be able to kill it.
The same goes for the vast swamp where I added a black dragon with an acid merchant. This will require closer to level 30 for a small group.
M16a2 has split all the HAK files for people on the website. Johny ringo (braz) has added a natfka map to it as well. "http://natfka.ddns.net"

DM_Mark

If you are above level 15 and die, feel free to ask the players on the map if there is a DM available (some players have my phone number) or if someone can come raise you (many will do so for you).

Have fun

I recognize a few usernames but can't quite place the characters. Cool to see Cormyr back up and running- I once played Mathom and also DMd as Valor for a short time. Just checking in to see if there are any returning players from the original Shorlial days. Currently downloading haks and excited to try out HH again.

mathomvalor greath to see you coming back. There are several of us from the "old" days that are back as well. I have been trying to convince Death to come back, but between is little one's taking up most of his time he also writes a blog and does conventions and does not want to get hooked back in the game at this time.

Hope to see you on soon. There have been a couple changes to the areas, but that is mainly just minor stuff so is still the same old Natfka for the most part.

Hi there, Ive got a problem..... today when I've went to make a new character it comes up with the following:

"invalid character - player Login refused server doesn't allow local vault characters."

Any ideas?

New character was just a basic Dwarven cleric so seems a little strange.

My original character works fine.

Thanks.

Hi doubleD, do you have a single player character or a multiplayer character with the same name? You can check by going to nwn/localvault.

I am also assuming you did not copy and paste your player bic file anywhere.
