Isn't Unity the one that had the glitch where some character's faces would be missing and it'd just show floating eyeballs and teeth

Unity has a 7 gig patch. Let that sink in, a 7 gig patch. It had so many problems they are giving away the first DLC which was going to paid...and it has a lot of bugs too.

Anyway, I disagree with things being better 10 years ago. I remember waiting many times for patches. What bothers me is that they have to patch the console versions. I can see PCs needing patches because of all the different configuratios possible with hardware and drivers and software but you shouldn't need to fix consoles.

The patch will be "soon"?

Was it hard to say "if everything goes as planned, expect the patch on tuesday, 8PM CET"?

A) Things rarely go to plan and B ) when it inevitably doesn't people will start accusing Bioware of lying again and trolling the fanbase etc etc.

So Bioware should keep ignorant people pleased?

The last patch was delayed by Sony/M$ trolling, that wasn't Bioware's doing. So those people should go put Sony under siege instead.

Oops I'm actually defending EA now... LOL

Sorry about that.

I wasn't expecting much, which is why I'm not that disappointed. Good to see the focus on fixing bugs rather than have-a-go 'balance' fiddling but still, pretty dry.

Well patch notes are about to solve most bug problems with multiplayer. It'll be only poor design choices to get on with after that, kinda grateful

Consoles as well?

Some of the problems, like MP are universal. So yeah, consoles as well.

Good work on fixing progress-relevant issues.

But:

- no fix to hitbox / targeting issues

- no improvement to tactical camera (except disabling auto-move)

- no fix to KB+M control issues

- no improvement to movement issues

Thanks, I guess, at least now I can rest easy and let DA:I gather dust until you release patch 4+.

(Damn, and I *was* excited when I saw the link to the patch notes...)

Finally an update on the patch front, the PC changes seem to be minimal, had hoped after their blog entry(http://blog.bioware....for-dragon-age/) that Patch3 was going to be a big PC patch.

Anyway happy to see things like the banter issue fixed, can't wait to give it a try.

p.s. What does "Added key binding that allows players to walk" mean, like an auto-walk button?

Probably run/walk toggle, similar to how it worked in DAO/DA2. It was a feature quite a few people have requested.

Right, I learned my lesson with patch 2. Origin now goes offline until lots of people say the patch has arrived, the patch is installed and the patch hasn't broken anything.

the patch hasnt fixed much.

alot of the class and passive/ability bugs are still bugged.

they fixed mind blast

they patched gold and influence

but didnt fix the autosave and manual save bugs

where are the fixes for two hander?

where are the fixes for alot of detonations?

where are the fixes for for the knight enchanter self instant kill and bugged combat clarity?

where are the fixes for necromancer?

where are the fixes for weakness not being proc'd for rift mage skills?

where are the fixes for max guard total and the armor rating for the front not the back?

where are the fixes for reaver's skills using more health than they should?

where are the fixes for for some shatter procs bypassing the shattered enemy or only doing 1 damage?

where are the fixes for Templars and the problems of blessed blades and stunned enemies not getting detonated by spell purge?

where are the fixes for that various broken rogue skills? evade upgrade? throwing knife targeting? Leaping shot and flank attack leaving you to fly across the map?

where are the fixes for the busted storm and winter trees?

---

yes fix the few things that make the game easier but leave the the lots of things still broken for later

Seriously people on on the BSN confuse me sometimes.

First it was all

- 'where's patch 3 BioWare, this is taking too long, hurry up, BioWare fail again'

Then Patch 3 notes get released and it's all

- 'there is not enough in this Patch BioWare, I'm disappointed in it'

A game as big as DA:I takes time to Patch, BioWare are prioritising fixes based on how often the problem occurs and on how easy it is to fix.

They then need to decide, based on time, which fixes make it into Patch 3 without fans having to wait too much longer.

So the more stuff is in the Patch, the longer fans have to wait.

A Patch can't be released relatively quickly AND have huge meaningful changes, the last patch was just over a month ago and BioWare were on holidays for most of that.

It's also important to note that some of issues may never get fixed, just because it is important to you, doesn't mean that it is something that can be prioritized in a patch.

There are a number of bugs in DA, Skyrim, Fallout 3 etc, that never got fixed.

Okay but we have waited so long already

AND ITS SUCH A SMALL PATCH

and they patched GOLD AND INFLUENCE

Gold and influence easy gains are a priority over near entirely broken skills trees [necromancer] or detonators?

instead of BUGGED SAVES and FROZEN SAVE LOADS?

no **** that.

Plus on top if this patch broke a couple more things.

buying this buggy game for 70 bucks day 1

We haven't waited that long though. Patch 2 was just before Christmas and then they went on holiday, they've been back for 2 weeks and have a Patch out that is pretty good.

As I said they prioritize fixes based on impact and how quickly it takes to fix them. Somethings like banter, gold, influence etc are easy fixes to get done in 2 weeks, the more difficult bugs or bugs that aren't as consistent take longer to fix.

If BioWare postponed patch 3 until those more detailed issues were fixed, then I'd say they wouldn't have even mentioned the patch until February at least.

While I'm glad they fixed one broken ability (for the mage), they need to take a look at this thread and focus on fixing the rest of them. And the rings that don't work at all. http://forum.bioware...rk-compilation/

Yes because you should get 2 weeks off after releasing a game with QA on par of Ride to Hell retribution.

sorry mac but Dec 26 is when christmas is over and you get back to work especially if you left alot undone.

this game shouldnt have been released until February.

minimal QA and needed a metric ton of polish.

This game was a premature birth 2-3 months too early.

Overall Underwhelming. Do they only have 2 developers working on this? Looking at the fixes it appears less that three weeks of work for 2 people.

Only positive news I take home is "not centering view when selecting characters in tactical".

Hurry up, and patch the broken tactical orientated input controls, or at a minimum allow us to zoom out 3 times more so we can actually see the battlefield instead of looking at the floor through binoculars. AND PLEASE bring proper auto attack to the non tactical view so we can stop swatting air.

wow that is kinda heartless.

The crunch time leading up to release would mean that they would've gone without seeing family or friends for weeks.

Add that to working on the patch before Christmas and to the fact that long periods of highly focused work without breaks is detrimental to productivity and I'd say that the time off was deserved.

Even if you don't care about the developers has fellow human beings who've been working hard, you should care that they start back to work after Christmas well rested and able to continue with the highly focused work of software development without losing productivity.

Them coming back to work on St Stephen's Day, probably wouldn't have meant the patch was out any faster because they would've been too fried to be productive.
