It's not worth arguing over and is now completely off topic. Let's move on.

My PS3 hasn't had any bugs nor clitches with Skyrim so comments like this puzzles me. Maybe Bethesda just patched it to perfection? Or then I'm just lucky with to have version with no bugs

Playing Bethesda games without access to mods is...gah. Bethesda typically relies on the modding community to fix and finish their games for them. Most of the acclaim that Bethesda games get is actually stemming from their modding communities to be honest.

I find their base games fun enough. TBH I find a lot of modern gamers to be spoiled on some things but too forgiving on others.

You have my sympathies. I think I avoided Skyrim for about 6 months just to let the modders catch up because I had made the day 1 mistake with Oblivion.

I didn't say it did. Its just most the time when you disagree with someone on here no matter how innocent or innocuous the initial disagreement was they try to drag you into some sort of verbal cage match like you suggested backing over their dog. -.-

Sims is only game I have used mods in, hmm I don't really think Skyrim needs mods.

I was really lucky with Skyrim. the only bug I ever got was the one where the quests didn't update. Some fierce reloading solved it most of the times. Never ran into anything else. Even on day 1.

Putting this out there, for what it's worth.

- I've worked in software engineering for a number of years. Many tech companies, in general, practically shut down from just before Christmas until around New Year's. This isn't unusual; enough people are traveling, spending time with family, ect, that it's very hard to run everything. Some people may choose to work, but there likely isn't enough people around to do major infrastructure things such as rolling out patches.

- I had to take over 2.5 weeks off this year because I had taken so little vacation that I had to burn it or lose it entirely. Again, this isn't a strange policy, and if that's what Bioware does, I could NEVER begrudge them wanting to actually have that time rather than forfeit it.

- Bioware offers it's employees 3 weeks of vacation a year + bonus winter time off (http://www.bioware.com/en/careers/). It's not surprising if a lot of people didn't get a chance to use much of it due to just finishing the game.

- Patches do take work. For all the talk people do of not enough testing being done, when a patch is rushed it's usually test that gets screwed and not left with enough time for validation.

- Testing video games is no small feat - there are so many variations, although I am sure that some automated testing exists to validate some things (likely regression tests to make sure that nothing is broken).

- No matter how many things you try to predict a customer will do, trust me: customers will always manage to do something that makes you scratch your head and go "I don't even know why they did that or how they did that." It's just the nature of so many people doing things so differently.

- Without looking at the code, seeing into the development process, ect, I couldn't tell you how long any one particular fix would take, what challenges were encountered, ect. In addition to just making sure a fix works, they need to make sure it doesn't regress any other behavior. If it does, it's back to the drawing board.

I absolutely understand the frustration that people feel - I'm a customer, too. I get hit with the same bugs you guys do, I paid the same money that you did, and I have the same frustrations while playing. But, it's important to never lose sight that there are people behind every piece of software, and most are very passionate about what they do and how they do it. I have one friend working for Bioware currently, and one who worked there for a bit but is now at NCSoft. They had nice things to say about how Bioware treats it's people and how the work.

So, bottom line: it's VERY important to keep bringing up the issues in a respectful manner; take advantage of the threads for it. It's important because no one thinks like you do, and the way in which you do things can expose something that just wasn't there before. Try to keep track of what happened to lead up to the bug you find; talk to others, maybe they can help gather information, too. Be detailed and specific when bringing up an issue; steps are good, game state, even hardware. That is the easiest and fastest way to get an investigation going, and you can actually make a positive impact on quality by doing this! Bioware does listen, but they need information on the things you hit more than anything else. A lot of people here have been fantastic about bringing up bugs and issues - keep that up! Actionable feedback is good feedback.

Anyway, off my soapbox now. :P

I would rather give Bioware the time they need to finish this third patch properly than to criticise them for stuff they haven't even put out yet.

That is unfair and simply illogical!

Bioware needs to be thorough and they will be. At least I am confident they will be.

So if Bioware is kind enough to give us a "heads-up" - I see it positive rather than negative.

What concerns me much more is the question how many patches we will get. Because this game needs a lot of 'em !!!

And I will be thankful for everyone of them. I am not playing at the moment because of the unjoyful state this game is in.

And by sayin' that I don't mean bugs - but gameplay-mechanics and design-choices !!!

I think it's good they aren't patching too many things once. If they did patch more there would be bigger chance of patch to mess up whole game and patches not working so it would be useless anyways. Hopefully they are now fixing just few  things and fixing them properly.

It's time to have this stuff fixed, Bioware. No lolligagging. We were good customers. We paid you for the game, you released it prematurely, now it's time for you to step up and fix it.

Check out what your competition is doing.

http://www.vancouver...tml?id=10456192

To be fair, it's better to compare them to studios like CD Projekt Red or Larian Studios, who made literally thousands of changes and bug fixes during beta and development based SPECIFICALLY on player testing and feedback, and even redid Character creation 3 times because it didn't feel right.

Even making small changes for flavor / immersion.  The total opposite of the experience I've had with Bioware / EA and Inquisition.

You are right. Fixing this game will take a long time. And for the time being it will remain on my SSD without me opening it! Hopefully I will one day be able to play this game I payed $70 for and waited five years for - and enjoy it! So far, I am very skeptical for this to happen ... But we'll see <_<

Bioware wrote in their last patch-note (which doesn't even concern me because I play on Playstation ...) for the third PC-patch:

"We continue to listen to feedback from our players, and we thank everyone for working with us to create an even better Dragon Age experience."

And that is exactly what I will be doing here in the forum! I will give my feedback and then continue to hope for the best. I guess by doing so I will make a fool of myself but we'll see

Take care, Panda!

P.s.: The link for the patch-note is in my signature!

They're not going to get much sympathy about not having time because of some long Christmas break when most of us are lucky to have one or two days off for Christmas.

This highlights a cultural difference. In Canada, as with Ireland, Christmas Day, St Stephen's Day and New Year are bank holidays. I only had to take 4 days off to be on PTO from the 24th of Dec to the 6th of Jan, so I could see a BioWare employee doing the same thing.

Also the software development Industry is notorious for not letting anyone take PTO for large parts of the year, forcing most employees to take their time off at the end of the year or lose their days.

Even if some people had come in over Christmas, there would've been no one else around to support them or make meaningful decisions.

I was working on a project before Christmas, worked up to Christmas, stopped, and then finish it off when I got back. Even if I had come in over Christmas to finish, there would've been no one who would sign off on it in, no one to support me with certain features etc.

I'm not saying you need to be sympathetic, just realistic

Well I'm suprized they are actually listening. They've even started an event for the community as I proposed to... Not the event I'd like but still!

Now you are making me very curious! What event do you refer to exactly?

And regarding your answer to my posting ...

I did say: "I guess by doing so I will make a fool of myself."

So ... I am very happy if they are listening ... but I am not sure or certain or even positively expecting they will .. do that

Like I said: "I will give my feedback and then continue to hope for the best."

Although I am (mostly) not as harsh as you can be sometimes, C0uncil0rTev0s, I am sceptical nonetheless!

Now, again: What event do you refer to exactly? (This info sounds like very good news to me =])

Ehm ...

A "fanboyism-celebration-contest" is the exact opposite of a feedback related event. That is 100% PR - pure and simple.

There will only be hugs and kisses being exchanged

That is not really helpful to anything that is discussed here in the feedback&suggestions section of the BSN  ...

Well, we'll see what happens.

Thank you anyway, for your sympathetic response, C0uncil0rTev0s :)

I'm grateful even for that.

It's a good idea, but Idetest the value of the prizes :/

Bleh I can get the inquisitors edition for 90aud at my local gamestore. They can't get rid of them, they are selling the edition  without the game..to get rid of the stuff. Humorous really..

Seriously people on on the BSN confuse me sometimes.

First it was all

- 'where's patch 3 BioWare, this is taking too long, hurry up, BioWare fail again'

Then Patch 3 notes get released and it's all

- 'there is not enough in this Patch BioWare, I'm disappointed in it'

A game as big as DA:I takes time to Patch, BioWare are prioritising fixes based on how often the problem occurs and on how easy it is to fix.

They then need to decide, based on time, which fixes make it into Patch 3 without fans having to wait too much longer.

So the more stuff is in the Patch, the longer fans have to wait.

A Patch can't be released relatively quickly AND have huge meaningful changes, the last patch was just over a month ago and BioWare were on holidays for most of that.

It's also important to note that some of issues may never get fixed, just because it is important to you, doesn't mean that it is something that can be prioritized in a patch.

There are a number of bugs in DA, Skyrim, Fallout 3 etc, that never got fixed.

Except we've been promised some critical features for the third patch and they haven't been addressed. Now we'll have to wait another month for the fourth patch and we're not even sure whether the game will become playable by then.

I am not sure where to put this update. I mean very happy that constantly try to fix things and do not abandon it but this is a small bunch of fix as of now and 2 month already passed. Pretty sure needs a couple of more to fix other issues too. That also takes time.

The game is fun but feels like a shell for later adds-on, tie in features. I already finished 2x and almost ready to move on. So what is the plan for the future?
How many patches we need to pass and how many more month till we get to the story dlcs, or armour dlcs or fort dlcs to get the "full-game" experience?
