They are an illusive bunch at EA tech. I've been on hold over the phone for over an hour now (I was expecting that, tbh) and am in queue for their live chat support as well; should be in in another 38 minutes or so.
I'm wondering if any of us has actually touched base with them yet and if yes, what's going on regarding the mass issues with the freezing loading screen and cinematics lag.

Well. I just hit an hour and a half on the phone timer. As for the chat, I waited until I was first in line and I had the attention of a techie. Then while I was still typng, he cut the chat channel. To the back of the line, I suppose.
