Do you honestly expect Bioware to pull something like that up? Especially when they don't allow you to swim in this new open world that they gave us all to enjoy? Besides if you zoom in on the red candle you clearly see that it is melting from the texture.

It's clearly not a magical candle...

But your not a mage how do you know its not a magical candle?

And what, pray tell, would a real magical candle look like?

Yes, actually. In Origins a never-ending flame is discussed as being a thing. The Circle of Magi created the concept and offered it to the Chantry for the Andraste's flame thing since it wouldn't go out, but the Chantry turned it down.

As for the drips, they never go any lower and the candle never gets smaller yet the flame always flickers. That's not how a regular candle works.

She needs to see, and she uses the wax to make the seals on all these important papers. Take a history lesson, this kind of device was actually used in France in the Middle Ages.

Wait a second to 'wannabehistorian' to pop up. They will tell you there was always an iPad.

Candlewax isn't used to make seals.

Anyway, not that this contraption bothers me, but it goes into silly-territory when Josie holds the pad so the candle is basically at a 60deg tilt towards her.

This may or may not have been used in "France in the Middle Ages", but certainly not like that.

The one on her clipboard looks like a regular candle. Just look at the texture and you'll see.

Back to that circular logic again? It can't be magical because it doesn't look magical.

Nah you don't go far enough.

What if that is a magical candle that is magically camouflaged so it doesn't look magical, EH?

How would you know that they were magic mushrooms and not normal mushrooms?

They could be normal mushrooms masquerading as magic mushrooms, you know.

What if all real fire is actually magical fire that camouflages as real fire while making real fire be camouflaged as magical fire so we don't suspect the actual magical fire of being magical fire?

Are you several times larger than you were before you consumed the mushrooms?

Well the candle also has the capability to defy gravity. I swear I've seen Josephine turn that clipboard sideways and the candle will just not fall, which bothered me tbh. Plus, what's the point? We never see her using that candle in a dark enough environment. It's like the designer created that on a whim and when he asked "What do you think guys?" the answer was "Ha, that's cool, it's like the medieval version of those minilamps you can put on clipboards." and nobody even thought about how the candle would actually work, or why would anyone put it there.

At least it's a minor thing, the whole "let's upgrade Skyhold so we can have holes in the wall the entire game on the way to the room we must visit to progress the story." pisses me off tbh.

Why does this thread have two pages? The issue the op has is so petty & nit-picky that it truly is a non-issue that only someone who has WAY too much time on their hands would care about.

Pointless thread is pointless.

Yea... I always thought that candle looked silly. Maybe Josie keeps it to remind her of me, you know... Long, hard, hot... Eh... I think I said too much already...

I cannot think of a reason why this important woman, who takes her work very seriously, would walk around with important papers on her clipboard with a burning candle resting on top.

Important papers and hot wax don't mix well... Just ask any businessmen/women out there.

Bioware please take the burning candle off of her clipboard.

I guess Josi don't think they are really important

Going by your name, if there is anyone here that can appreciate the nonsensical, it ought to be you.
