Read it in those voices they use for dramatic and epic trailers.
Things weren't quiet in Goddamned City, they never were, crooks could be seen in every corner praying on the innocent by robbing them on everything they had.
"Where is the police?" Everyone asked, the police had to work double shifts and still couldn't keep up with the crime rate.
[epic theme song starts to play] But there was one man who wouldn't stand for it any longer, [song getting louder] he was going to be the protector of the innocent and the champion of justice.
He was [song reaching its peak] - Snailyboy!
With a speeding snail as a symbol on the chest of his tight gray costume he was the least fearsome hero the villains had never met. A hero so slow and lazy that when he finally appeared at the crime scene; the bad guys had long since left and even the police had already entered the scene to investigate (now that is slow!).
But his toughest task was defeating his archenemy, the criminal mastermind Jaques Gourmand - a man who had a fancy for the French cuisine and a real affection for escargots.
Se him getting left behind by all the villains in "The Adventures of Snailyboy"!

Currently enjoying Wing Commander: End of an Era, a crossover fanfiction between Wing Commander and Mass Effect. Am currently thirteen chapters in (happy to report that with over 250K words and 23 chapters as of now (not complete but active, last update was the tenth of January this year!)) and it's well written, stays as true to both the WC and ME universes as it can (with obvous implications especially concerning technology), both sides of the crossover get prety equal treating (no specific part of the fusion dominates the other one so far, though the Wing Commander part obviously bleeds heavily in the depiction of the ME universe) all characters are well written and so far it's no generic "humanity, f*ck yeah" nonsense (in fact it has a little twist on that part that I don't want to spoil, partly because it hasn't been explained as far as I got in the story).
Can wholeheartedly recommend.
