I agree on the hairstyles part. I'm not asking for the overly dramatic, anime-style hair (hell no) but at least give us a few more options. Hairs that are relevant to the era too. I also hated the body proportions of male humans especially in their PJs. If there's a mod I would mould the hips to be wider...

Not gonna ask to use companions or unique NPC's hair because I like it when NPCs are unique and designed... instead just a copy from CC that I can recreate.

My first Inquisitior was a plain looking female though, and I enjoyed playing the PT. It was like.... that's the Inky? Well.. she could use some makeup on her face maybe?

Here is a wish list:

1.  More hair styles

2.  Better choice of eyebrows

3.  A little more leeway with the brow/forehead.  I can never seem to make a very intimidating looking Inquisitor, because I can't get the eyebrows down low enough to give them that "angry eyes" look.

4.  Be able to choose between "short," "medium," and "tall" heights.

5.  Be able to choose "slim," "regular," and "husky" body builds.

The first two seem to be easy fixes.  Perhaps # 3 is more complicated.  My guess is #4 and #5 will never happen.

I suppose a couple of more voice options would be grand.

I'm on board with all of them, but specially 5. I don't like much playing guys but it defintely doesn't help that super muscular, big body build we're stuck with  :pinched: I know most people want more variety to pick more muscular women, but I need it to pick much less muscular men... Luckily we have elves

The lack of hair styles it's bad, but personally, I can do with the two or three I find acceptable.

Tough luck, we will never get it. At least not in DAI.

The first three I support, the latter two are highly desirable but unachievable for the game that already been released. I also don't like too much meat on a male chars, it looks stupid on mages and rogues but it's not a pressing matter cause it's not that apparent when they wear anything but those pajamas.

those pajamas surely made it a lot worse  ... maybe they could give us at least some other thing to wear in Skyhold

Well, while you wait you can use the cheat engine. Just get the right version and the right ct file and the beige abomination will be no more.

I know it's not a perfect solution and BW should do something, but...

What is missing for that is an "eyebrow slant" slider -- it was a baffling surprise to see that was missing since it can add a lot of emotion to a face, from "don't mess with me" to "wide-eyed wonder". I really wanted a harder look, too, a bit like Cassandra has, but there's no eyebrow style that matches hers.

Plain is not issue darling in here it is lack of hair.As OP stated there are 7 shaved hairs that are not needed because 1 or 2 is more then enough when it comes to shaved/bald hairs.Anyway I still wish real ponytail hair I mean common...why is there no ponytail? Why?

But if you read the OP carefully, my dear, you'll find that the hair is only part of OP's described cc issue. They also complained that the Inquisitor looked too plain and that that was a problem. Hence my posting. I do agree that there are very few acceptable hairstyles, especially for females.

Not to happy with hair options, head or facial.  Otherwise I have no complaints about the CC

I'm not a fan of the character creator at all tbh. The min/max of the sliders isn't enough to be able to create a truly unique looking face and the Inquisitor just ends up looking like any other NPC. The companions also have higher quality and unique complexions and better brows, while the Inquisitor is stuck with sharing the same playdough crap background npcs get. Fortunately texture mods are very possible and a lot of my complaints with complexions/eyebrows and makeup has been fixed with them. The question is, why did the game ship with such limited options? I'm not particularly savvy with Photoshop, but even I can paint eyebrows/makeup and make my own skin textures.

Then there's the vomit-worthy hairstyles that took all of 5 minutes to make.

I like all about the CC. In the end, create a good looking character is part of the ability of the player. but the light in CC is totoally a liar, expecially for the make up. And without a way to change appearance mid game, I have to suffer with shiny lips forever on my Qunari.  <_<

The hairstyles are something that is...terrible is say little. Boring, bad and very lacking even in the quality departmant. I can't say there is one hairstyle that I like in the CC. there is only one I can hate a little less.

The eyebrows are confusing: there are a number of brushy, worm-like type that probably only few persons would use...and very few smaller, not sayng perfectly done, but more feminine. And to me seem like some are resent in Qunari that aren't in the elves.

Bw designers/programers or whatever are a strange people, that's why.

Yah know one of the nobles at the Ball said my Inquisitor wasn't very attractive. I was very offended on his behalf.

I was pretty pleased with the facial customization options. Happy, actually. My gripe with the CC is the hair. For me the braids are the only decent option for female Qunari and they still suck mightily. I don't know how they managed to do it, but Bioware has created the most awful incarnation of cornrows I've ever seen in a video game. Worse than the Sims even. The middle of the hair is braided (in this really horrible undefined texture) to form these two massive imitation cornrows. Yet on the sides there are two straight unbraided strips that look like glued on hair-esque fibers.  Where did Sten get his hair braided? Maybe my quiz can go there.

I remember seeing a thread where people were hoping for "black" (kinky-curly) hairstyles even though Bioware never includes anything more than several straight hairs, slightly wet looking straight hair, and no hair. I'm sure they're all pleased with the plastic looking Fresh Prince of Bel Air low top fade, bald fade Vivienne sports, and cornrows that aren't actually cornrows.

That is a real issue, true, and one that continually baffles me. Sure, that sort of hair would be even harder to make look even half-decent with the "molten plastic" hair modelling Bioware have in their games, but that's no excuse to not even try. Sadly few companies seem to.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but you are.

Of course one could make a great looking character, but never a character who will look iunique no matter what race or gender you choose. They all would look the same because basically we have a couple of decent looking faces and a couple of decent looking hairstyles.

It's f-cking too little for a several playthrough.  <_< Of all the pc people posted here on BSN I would recreate only one, and surprise-surpise, to do so you'll have to use a custom makeup and a custom eyebrows.

(Credits to this beauty goes to MelissaGT)

That is how our characters are supposed to look. It shouldn't be that freaking hard to understand. BW do games what, ten, fifteen years? And their character creation tools still suck a**. What's the point of a Frostbite if we can't make a character whol would look interesting? The OP is right, all our companions look better than the pc. Period.

We'll have to agree to disagree then, because I think all of my characters look unique and lovely. :P

Problem is they wanted "modern look" but even bigger problem is that none of hair I saw are "modern" I'm yet to see one sane person in this world wanting to wear any of that hairstyle. So short hair is not issue.I love short hair they are great, problem are ones we got in game.If they bothered to do proper research on short hair they would see that they can get their "modern" looking hair that people would love.If any of these short hairs were made in game I would die happy:

Spoiler

But it seems that "Sloth demon" must have possessed them because I don't see that they did any research regarding hair at all!

Every one of those is better than what we got.  I literally would pay more money for hairstyles.  I shouldn't have to good hair should have been included in the $73 I used to purchase the game but I will gladly pay more for some better hair.

I have a hard time believing it's that much more difficult than straight hair. There are literally hundreds of millions of people who don't have straight or wavy hair on this planet, not bothering to design hair that remotely reflects this is just lazy. I'm no fan of Rockstar but I see them making an effort.

Their CC for GTA V online is pretty awful since everyone you create looks like a drug ravaged foot, but even they have a selection of multi-ethnic hair that beats anything Bioware has ever attempted. This is my GTA character, the hair is far from perfect but it's still nice that they tried to reflect a texture a lot of people have irl.

It's unfair to compare any western game to an Asian game on this kind of artistic dimension IMO... they're kind of always behind I've found. That's not really limited to DA.

Would've REALLY liked some more hair options, though :/

I think char-gen is relatively fine for the heads, actually. But the hair, it's just not varied enough. I get maybe they're going for a somewhat military theme (and at the same time making it less complicated with gear, technically, etc) but it's still a bit lacking. I find it especially hard when the short, near-shaved hair & longer hairs don't share nearly the same colour hue, when part of the same hairdo.

I dunno, I'd take a -10 armour if they needed to quantify the grab-hold of a braid in combat. :D

As for asian-themed (or many others for that matter) mmos, I find they are usually really colourful and stuff, with vibrance that you just don't find in the world of Thedas. So I can understand the colours, somewhat, but would still have loved more choices.

Isn't that a real good reason to rage on Bioware.. or am I missing something here?

Especially Black Desert 2 shows just how much we've been missing out on. Adjustable body models, adjustable hair (you want a curl here? Well, you can!), click and drag facial features.

The Bioware character creator is ancient compared to that. So ancient it makes dinosaurs go 'Oh, I remember THAT!'. We're still having plastic wigs for hair, everyone and their mom has the same body model (1 male, 1 female per race, this includes NPCs) and the way you sculpt your face, although it's gotten better, is just not up to par.
