For me, I was playing as a female Qunari warrior and it was during the romance subplot with Blackwall after he leaves Skyhold to save a friend from execution. After he confesses to a crime and a lie he lived, it was in the cell scene where my Qunari Inquisitor looked upon with a heart-broken expression on her face seeing a shell-of-a-man Thom Reiner in a dank dark prison cell. It was a short moment but one that stuck with me as I almost felt what my character expression's showed and proved to be a personal moment in DAI.
What was a "personal" moment for you in DAI? (Spoilers, duh')

Finding out the truth about Red Crossing really hit my Lavellan hard (it was a completely unlooked for moment in the game that just floored me). Solas breaking up with her after telling her about the vallaslin was another big moment. Poor lady, the things she finds out about her gods, her vallaslin, the ancient elves, and of course the things Solas never tells her before he disappears. Good thing I played my practical Lavellan first.
Will have to do the Solas romance again later but I don't think my current compassionate Lavellan could handle him, Cullen is more her speed (I on the other hand, really want to do the Solas romance again - but I must be strong - so many other romances to play through first).

When Warden!Alistair, Fiona and Kiernan who was Alistair's son were all at Skyhold. After talking to Fiona asking about Alistair and walking into the ambient conversation between Alistair and Morrigan about Kiernan, I was like this is the most bittersweet family reunion ever. *cries*

My Dalish rogue telling Morrigan off at the Well of Sorrows. Yes, maybe Morrigan could have understood the power better... but hell no was my Inquisitor going to let another valuable piece of elven history slip away from her people.

When my Inquisitor lost her faith at the Battle of Haven. But Cassandra helped her restore it. The Maker had a purpose for her. She had to believe it.
Then when Varric compared her to Andraste.... the horrendous amount of bad luck my Inquisitor has had just had to be the work of a higher power. Andraste's life was a story of bad luck.
This is the work of The Maker.
When on the battlements, Cassandra called her "my friend."
Cassandra's first act as The Divine - The Divine wears pants, not a robe or tunic.

I really enjoyed the cinematic feel of the cutscenes after the battle at Haven. Particularly when you're walking through the snowy mountains alone and your companions finally find you. Then how the despair and feelings of loss turns into hope when you see Skyhold for the first time. Those were very poignant moments for me, but I kind of wish there had been more of them as the game progressed.

It's kinda tough to look back on the very first time I played Origins -- what was it? Five? -- years ago and remember a lot of the details, further muddied by several subsequent PTs of all the different variations. But that first time, I made a male human warrior for my warden, and he fell in love with Morrigan, and no matter how much she rebelled against the idea, he convinced her that it was a good thing.
And somehow, by the will of the Maker, I held on to those saved games long enough to import him into Awakening, and then into Witch Hunt, and that warden followed Morrigan into the Eluvian at the end. I loved that story of the two of them. It was epic, as far as I'm concerned. And I waited for five years, through multiple PTs of both Origins and Dragon Age 2, and several other games, and even a couple different gaming rigs, heh.
And now, for my first PT of Inquisition -- which I completed just before Christmas -- I did the best I could to recreate that world state in the Keep. Then my inquisitor met Morrigan at the Winter Palace. She agreed to join the cause, at least for awhile, and through a few different conversations she told 'Inky' a lot about her relationship with the Hero of Fereldan, and every single word she uttered that related to him and them was wonderful.
Sad as I am that the HoF is not as much a part of Inquisition as, say Hawke or Leliana, or even Alistair/Loghain... well, I couldn't be happier with what I did get.

Pretty much the same thing for me because I romanced Blackwall - I found everything about the prison scenes to be personal and emotional.

Hearing everyone talk about the Hero of Ferelden. Dagna says she'll always remember how they helped her, but Sera is just like, "It was ten years ago. Who cares?" And was so weird to think about how the world moves on--heroes are remembered by some but forgotten by others. It got me thinking about Hawke and my Inquisitor and how their stories will or will not live on.
Trudging through the snowstorm after Haven fell, and the revelation that--chosen or not--you can't do this on your own; you really need the rest of the Inquisition standing with you. It was such a well done part of the game. I could almost feel my Inquisitor's relief when Cullen and Cassandra finally found them.
Dorian's personal quest made me cry, but that's kind of a given.

1) Cole's spirit-path resolution to his personal mission is incredibly touching and quietly beautiful.
2) The cutscene with Cassandra in which she muses about the future and expresses admiration and respect left me absolutely giddy with joy because I fiercely wanted to earn that, earn her friendship, and the way the cutscene ends with the two just looking at each other in quiet contentment and understanding was perfect.
3) Dorian's personal quest, his anger and anguish and wistfulness are very close to home.
4) Of course, I have to praise the entire rollercoaster of In Your Heart Shall burn, especially the song and the first look at Skyhold with the dramatic music in the background. It may well be the best story-sequence in any game I've ever played -- at least I can't think of anything else that moved me this much.

Yeah, that was an "ouch!" moment, and it definitely helped explain why Leliana turned out the way she did.

Probably Dorian's personal quest. I've had identity crisis earlier in my life and I had so much difficulty accepting myself, while Dorian just pretty much goes on with everything and doesn't give his damnest on what anyone thinks. I kind of felt terrible and relieved at the same time. Actually made me rethink a little.
In the same level, talking to Iron Bull about Krem made me smile, too.
And Cassandra's line of conversations too, even though yes, the book scene earned a few giggles from me, but hearing her voice change to this open, less tense tone compared to the commanding one she usually uses is really amazing. Then the part where she just tells my Lavellan that they're friends and she's so proud to be a friend of hers. By this point in the story I've felt like I've been doing a trainwreck of bad decisions and she still believes in me, and I admire her the same, probably more. The fact that my Lavellan could be level and close with someone she greatly admires just made me smile.
There's also the parts after Haven. I literally felt crushed when I just see my Lavellan shivering and walking past that snowstorm and she's not making any sound except for her chattering teeth and the desperate attempts to keep warm. When she was found and the song later came, it felt kind of symbolic and personal to me.

- When Cassandra said to my Lavellan "You can't court me, you're the Inquisitor !", the expression on her face was sweet and sad at the same time.
- Iron Bull sharing drinks with the Inquisitor and also when he throw the ashes of the Chargers into the wind.
- When Lavellan recovers his memomy in the Fade and particularly the cutscene when he screams "What's going on here ?!", it was different from the first time we hear it in the beginning and more emotional.
- The letter Lavellan receives from Mahariel (HoF) and particularly this passage :
I wish they can meet one day and talk about Eluvians and thing ![]()

"A word?" scene right up to Skyhold. That was The Moment.
(and, yes, I romanced Solas. Obviously).
And all things Varric and Cassandra, starting and ending with Varric's romance novel. These two really felt like family.
I only wish those scenes were spaced a little - at Skyhold, I literally spent two hours just *talking*, and then my characters were silent half of the game.

I literally left my controller down to use youtube to hear Kira to compare voices when you meet her in Skyhold.
So...yeah, my personal moment was finding out that the voiceactress for my favourite Bio romance was in the game as a kind of important character.
