I'm constantly on the dragon age reddit, people love this game. And you misunderstand me, I know people have differing opinions. I'm just trying to get it across that the hate this game is getting here is from a vocal minority who need to take the rose colored glasses off of their precious DAO and realize it got utterly destroyed for various reasons and is in no way a perfect masterpiece that bioware should aspire to make again. I can't fathom how much love it gets here now when the response was extremely negative after its release to. Bioware can never win, its disgusting.

The hate spawns from deliberate, and disgustingly misleading promotions they ran prior to releasing, and all through development.. "It takes from Origins, and DA2".. What part of Origins, do you see in Inquisition? And ofcourse the PC community is outraged! We're told to play it with a controller, when weve always played Dragon Age with m+kb!

I have not the energy to wade thru the sludge to find the supposed non-fake reviews, and I certainly am not supporting a site that does not secure itself from such misuse and use of flawed math. At least some other sites insure that user reviews are actual owners; that cuts down on the quality searching a lot. Prefer and recommend going elsewhere.

Its not at all difficult to tell a true passionate review, from a copy paste punk, with nothing better to do than plant a false review.. Dislike a review site all you like, but any shred of common sense should allow you to differentiate the two!

I was forced to play the Mass Effect games with a mouse and key board, I'll say the same thing people said to me when I complained, "get over it".

I utilize Amazon; the players reviews must have purchased the game, I believe. And while not all reviews are helpful, one may discern which are useful somewhat faster than a site that is known to allow false reviews. And while the scores still may not indicate the actual quality, the reviews themselves can be informative.

And for those that cannot kick the habit, metacritic scores are linked if one cares.

Where did I say any site was "tried and true, absolutely honest"? The discussion can really progress logically w/out the hyperbole, can't it? What part of "I don't use any of them" conveys that I do?

The PS4 version is sitting at 4.5/5 stars(the best selling version) and the PC version is at 3.5/5 stars, a far cry from the metacritic user reviews.

Its no hard to make anything out of 5 look alright.. but ill bite.. Last i checked, metacritic was around 1500 reviews, and the positive/negative from players were pretty evenly split.. Whereas the critics were all 80-100.. Kindve a huge spread..

 

The 3.5/5 is about a 7/10, or a 70/100.. 4/5>8/10>80/100...  How many reviews were there on the site youre mentioning?

My apologies, there isnt a sarcasm option to highlight me text, i thought it was pretty cut n clear...I was, as most others seem to be, taking a ridiculous argument, and stretching the silliness to the extreme to extend the point... That there is none...

The numbers of reviews are irrelevant, as they are tainted by allowing false scores and reviews. As someone else indicated:

You're of course, correct. It is ridiculous to expect people to go to MetaCritic for reviews.

The amount of score is relevant, as it is the overall score.. And youre sayin that because someone owns the game, they cannot make up a review either way? Seriously? To post on Amazon, i believe you have to have bought THROUGH Amazon.. Since a large portion of consumer bought through Gamesopt for the pre order bonus, where do they review? Metacritic is invalid because some people post false reviews.. You are indeed naive if you believe  Amazon be any different simply because you must buy through them to rate a product.. Pathetic. Apparently you have the inability to decide for yourself? And again, why would you use the overall as the be all, end all? You rate each review on individual merrit.. 

 

Ah well.. This topic has turned to a pissing match, beating a dead horse.. And one that would offer to constructive outcome either way.. Good day..

The problem here may be that the site incorrectly scores the totals of the reviews. The reviews themselves can be browsed like any others, but each critic may score on a different scale.

I actually find just the opposite.. The user seem to be far more passionate about the product, whereas a critic has not only a list to go by, by a pile of games to get through and review.. A user is buying, playing, and reviewing a game because hehad soemthing invested in it, besides a paycheck...

Metacritic user reviews are garbage, please don't try and validate them. When a 0 score review that consists of "lol EA" has as much merrit as a 300 word 8 score, its not worth comparing.

But your review means very little to EA and Bioware, also your review will not make any difference to their awards and such..

 

Honestly these so called reviews these days are very thin.. on negatives especially on AAA stuff and many reviewers are forced into poor NDA agreements etc

Yes, there is corruption in the reviewing business but just like some negative reviews are based on reasonable criticism, some of the positive reviews are likewise based on people finding this game enjoyable.

Baseless skepticism makes you sound terribly ignorant. Unless you have a direct line with the reviewing crowd, please leave your conspiracy theories at home.

 

Perhaps some good reviews of the game are corrupt. Perhaps some bad ones are justified. AND perhaps the opposite is true. This game has gotten good reviews from people all across the internet. It's also caught a lot of flack from people all across the internet. People are people--game critics or not. Everyone has different opinions and different scores.
