Once, in response to a question about who was Africa's greatest leader, I replied, "Queen Victoria."
The message board I was on didn't like that answer.

At least you didn't say Cecil Rhodes.

In 2010 China launched an unmanned lunar probe called Chang'e2 that took images of the lunar surface. The Chinese claimed that among those images were traces of the Apollo landings. And that was from China, a nation that would have every motivation to expose and embarrass the United States if the Moon Landings were hoaxed. Furthermore the Apollo mission was tracked at the time all the way to the moon and back by the Soviet Space Transmission Corps. The Soviets like the Chinese today, would have had every motivation to ridicule the mission as a hoax had they not tracked the mission to the Moon.

Pft, thats what THEY want you to think. People like you believe anything you see on the brain wash box. China? Lol as if such a country could exist. You ever see China? Me either. And I see people that say their CHinese but if their really "Chinese" why are they here?. And Soviet Space Transmission Corps...really, lets just string words together because it sounds good. I can do that too. Nataional Aeronautics and Space Administration. See? Gibberish. Sheeple like you are a disgrace, with your half man, half sheep bodies dipping into our water supplies and lacing it with mind control drugs.

Ah a good old troll.

On topic: I do feel like pointing out that other European nations also planted their flag all around the globe as well (thinking of the French specifically) and then you also had the rush to claim areas of central Asia and Afghanistan by the British and Russians. Just because one nation happened to be better at doing something, does not automatically make flag planting everywhere an 'inherently British' thing.

Flags and banners have been important as an expression of ownership throughout recorded history, and standards of some sort before that.
Folk always assume it's the Brits that really nailed it and whilst undoubtedly the empire of Queen Victoria had many many flags, neither she nor her forces invented the practice.
Although I'm sure she'd love that you think so! :D

It's part of their contractual agreement to keep making our iPhones. Don't believe it, sir. You've been hoodwinked.

From what I understand, the color in the flag faded, so now it looks like we're surrendering the moon.

I hate to spoil the party, but that is not a flagpole. If anything, it is a giant plastic cocktail stick, about 1980s vintage if I remember correctly. Somehow "I claim this land on behalf of the Social Democratic Party!" just does not seem to work.

See, then you'll just get the crazier conspiracy theorists claiming that China and the Soviets were in on it too. Which doesn't really make sense, but that's conspiracy theorists for you.

Which was possibly the greatest fake in history.

Yeah, and the government was also behind 9/11 and let the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor.

Believing humanity never landed on the Moon is on par with rejecting the Theory of Evolution.

I sense another irrelevant topic coming up :P

It might be possible with Hawke, the inquisitor tries at wittiness are nowhere near the mark.

Gotta love the internet and its ability to talk about religion, politics, and conspiracy theories no matter how irrelevent they are to the original topic.

I didn't see that video coming at all.  <_<

Nice job punching someone on telly, does you loads of credit it seems.

Edit: Understand I don't mean to doubt him but that footage didn't do him any justice at all.

Flags have no meaning.

I heard about that incident before but never saw the video.

The 'truther' totally had that coming. Sorry, but if you use fighting words you shouldn't have a right to complain when someone gives you the fight you're looking for. The real 'coward' is the tinfoil hat-wearing clown harassing an elderly man.

That douchebag pretty much deserved it. Did he expect something else to result from his inane haranguing of the man?

If you're gonna straight up follow a guy around calling the greatest achievement of his life a fake, and call him a coward, expect a punch.
